thanks for all your effort making ex30 videos Kristian, I was actually anticipating the release of this one.
I'm glad you have enjoyed them. Got a couple more coming as well 👍
Vapor Grey in your video looks sick!!😮 so glad i chose it over black!! Seems you had a blast! Thanks so much! The car seems very safe and reliable on icy road
Yeah, Vapor are actually quite nice 👍 Yeah the EX30 are really pleasant and confident inspiring on winter roads. Reliable and predictable behaviour.
All those smiles says everything! Interesting how the EX40/XC40 and EX30 really differs and how they are really restricting the fun in the rear wheel drive EX30.
Yeah 😂 Was quite joyful
It is excellent that Volvo is not limiting esc-off/offroad mode to 50 kmh speeds when it turns back on and kills all the fun
Yeah definitely 👍
EX30👍
I wonder if the Cross-Country version will be even better tuned for this type of off-road driving.
Yeah, let's see how it turns out
In the US the Ultra AWD Is $6,000 more than the RWD ER. Where I live in 11 years I probably needed AWD in my BMW half a dozen times at the most. Will probably opt for the SMER EX30.
Yeah, then the Single Motor would be more appropriate. Here the price gap up to AWD are surprisingly low.
While the jump from Plus to Ultra is only $1700.00.
How does it handle in AWD performance mode vs just normal mode where it starts losing traction?
I was hoping you'd report on the transition to AWD when the Twin motor is not in performance mode. If you're on ice and messing about I know you'd be prepared and in performance mode (AWD) but what if you're just out driving normally and need more traction and the front motor cuts in on normal (RWD) mode? Does it get a little unsettled as it finds the extra grip it's looking for?
Oh, I'm sorry. Didn't test that specifically. Was planning to talk about it on the Moss Yellow Presscar. There's a little delay on kickdown. So will be similar if the car actives AWD itself. But normally you're driving with ESC engaged, and that does a good job on holding your line. Even if you haven't activated AWD, so wouldn't think it should be a problem.
@@volvo_kristian Thanks. With all the fun and excitement of driving on the ice circuit I'd have forgotten as well.
@@stevecade857 Yeah 🤣
How do you turn off the ESC?
Via settings then driving then ESC.. Nice, when track driving 👍
@@volvo_kristian Don't think we have that in the XC40
@@mdshovel Depends what model year you have. But this is just EX30 now
Volvo includes ESC Sport Mode on the EX30 but not on my 2023 AAOS V60 Polestar Engineered? 🤦♂️
That's correct 🤣🤣 Stupid as heck if you ask me
