I actually don't understand why anyone thought this movie was boring, there was not a single moment watching this that I wasn't completely immersed in the movie.
Leo should have won an Oscar for "Django: Unchained" because of the dinner scene where Jamie Foxx and the bounty hunter are at Leo's house trying to get Jamie's wife back. When he slammed his hand down on the glass and it started bleeding, that was for real. He didn't see the glass their but continued on with the scene even though his hand was cut wide open an even incorporated the blood into the scene by rubbing it on Jamie Foxx's wife's face. Everyone's reaction in the scene were real because they seen him bleeding.
Agreed, it was a gorgeous movie. Filmed in British Columbia, Canada, and supposedly takes place in Dakota or some such flat and uninteresting place. :)

Tom Hardy had a heck of a year as well being in the revival of Mad Max as well. One for the bank and one for the academy indeed. Mad Max even won some technical awards.
bananian That makes it even more impressive. His face isn't particularly recognizable yet, but I believe he's from the UK. So playing someone from Alabama really does show acting range. Hardy really has been in interesting roles. When I think about it, he really does seem more qualified for achievement in acting than Dicaprio. I hated his movie Locke, but his acting in it was fantastic. When I think about it, Dicaprio's most interesting role in recent years may have been in Django Unchained. Hardy's role in The Dark Knight Rises has been a particularly effective role in pop-culture in recent years. Nowhere near as iconic as Ledger's performance in the previous movie in the franchise mind you. How ripped Hardy got for Warrior and the role of Bane even shows intense physical dedication. I think he was actually more muscular in Warrior though.
+Akshata Hombali ofcourse. I'm saying that it's not uncommon for actors to set aside their principles for a movie role whether the motive is money or awards or just dedication to craft.
Leo should have won for Wolf of Wall Street; The Revenant was all technique, we were so impressed with the film making that we forgot to enjoy the movie.
I don't forget things easily in movies. I can pay attention to what is going on as well as how they're doing it. I was mostly bored. Maybe it's made to appeal to people who have never left a metropolitan area, but I've seen trees and the sky. It has interesting camerawork, but so do nature documentaries. The movie can be summed up way too quickly for it to be very interesting. A guy survives being killed and gets revenge is the basic plot. It's just something I've heard dozens of times before. It basically took all the fun out of a blockbuster movie and dared you not to like it. The problem is it was boring. Birdman had interesting characters, but this was just grueling to make. Wolf of Wall Street was also him basically playing himself. Shutter Island may have been his most interesting role. Aviator or Gangs of New York were likely better. The problem is he's popular enough to have many near misses. Near misses make people angry. The politics of it seemed to have gotten him the win. Good or interesting acting was left out. Most of his characters don't stick with me as interesting or memorable. The most memorable would likely be Titanic to me. King of the world, never let go jack, the dancing scene, and the painting scene were all fairly memorable. I think him freaking out on drugs will be forgotten in coming years from the Wolf of Wall Street. The chest pounding scene was good, but he wasn't the star of that scene. Revenant he didn't really do much that was memorable. Fighting a bear is far less iconic than Batman vs Superman. Eating stuff, not memorable. River scene, not memorable. Getting inside a horse was done better in Star Wars. The final fight scene falls in comparison to half of Kill Bill's fight scenes. This movie doesn't stack up to me particularly in writing.
Let's be real, Leo had no chance of winning an Oscar against Mcconaughey' s Dallas Buyer Club performance. He didn't deserve to win unless the movie was released in a year with below par performances, such as the Revenant year.

@@davidcarter2607 in terms of the plot and concept, Whiplash is the worst I have ever seen. Good production, good acting, but just the most worthless representation of musicians ever done in film.
@Levi Ollerton It’s not supposed to be a representation of musicians it’s based on the experiences of the director Damien Chazelle and his teacher What I hear most people complain about is the teacher Fletcher and just blaming the film’s fault for him not being a nice teacher (Fletcher was based on a teacher the director had) but the point was that you did hate him, meaning that the actor did his job of adding realism into the role

can u do the movie whiplash plz? :D
+oq You Dont Know Jack po Oh yes Whiplash!
Yes that movie was terrible
Worst movie ever
@@davidcarter2607 in terms of the plot and concept, Whiplash is the worst I have ever seen. Good production, good acting, but just the most worthless representation of musicians ever done in film.
@Levi Ollerton It’s not supposed to be a representation of musicians it’s based on the experiences of the director Damien Chazelle and his teacher
What I hear most people complain about is the teacher Fletcher and just blaming the film’s fault for him not being a nice teacher (Fletcher was based on a teacher the director had) but the point was that you did hate him, meaning that the actor did his job of adding realism into the role
Say, "Don't worry, I've done this a hundred times, so I'm bound to get it right someday."
Say "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere."
This was funny but people need to stop saying The Revenant was Leo clamouring for an Oscar. I don't think people realise that actors care no where near as much about Oscars as people think they do.
Domhnall is still the best thing about this movie
aside from the fact that he dies
again
And the hat he wears when he dies. I'm surprised it didn't get a Best Supporting Actor nom.
... The new Sean Bean...
Locke Lamora pls no (hes probs gonna die in sw too NO)
***** no armitage is still alive... hopefully next movie too
***** Hux has a real tragic backstory and is 80% more interesting than any other character. His role was so good!
I can`t Wait to see DeadPool Honest trailer
For this movie, truly, the sky's the limit ;D
Honest trailer for the Hateful Eight? How can you not?
+Stavros Mayakovsky Wonderful movie. I'm a fan of Tarantino and it hit the spot. Very enjoyable for me. And if it was bullshit, wouldn't it make a fun honest trailer.
"yup... sky's not going anywhere" XD !!!
also "Leo shows his full range of emotional grunting "
bless you honest trailer guy
Say "And the Oscar goes to... Leonardo DiCaprio."
In honor of the upcoming remakes, please do Honest Trailers of The Jungle Book (1967) and Pete's Dragon (1977)!
Please say:"I'm gonna make him an offer you can't refuse", with the best Marlon Brandy impersonation you can.
The shots of the sky, tree's, and rivers didn't bug me. It reminded us that there's still some beautiful nature out there, that we haven't destroyed yet.
Say: I am a world before I am a man, I was a creature before I could stand, I will remember Before I forget!
Was not bored at all with this movie. Definitely my favorite of 2016 😃
i could have watched an hour more
I fast forwarded all those boring walking and sky sbots.
+Zinedine Zidane *shots
+Zinedine Zidane so you did not watch it in the cinema?
Because the Film only works well in the cinema
Tom Thomson In my country there are no cinemas.I don't know why? It's not about the money. Probably religious issues.
still one of the best looking films I've ever seen, Emmanuel Lubezki is the master of cinematography
Here's my question.... he's eating raw liver like... what? ten feet from a fire? Why doesn't he just put it on a stick and cook it a little? lol. Am I missing something?
Hes lazy ?
you have to watch the movie. he hadnt eaten in days. it was supposed to show his desperation.
also, dicaprio''s character wasnt supposed to throw up. but the idiot actor decided to eat raw liver to bring authencity to the film but ended up ruining it instead by throwing up. real hugh glass wouldnt have thrown up.
More energy to eat it raw.
TheNegativeDude
Raw liver tastes better than cooked. Way better. I tried it once.
@@TheNegativeDude how do you know if he was supposed to throw up or not
Those are some gorgeous sky shots though. Like wow.
Sometimes, I feel that some movies are underrated because of what makes them good.
Say: " YOUR RESISTANCE ONLY MAKES MY ERECTION STRONGER!!"
