Most non-American interviewers are so good because they actually want to hear the actors and it’s not just for a quick sound bite where the actors have to pander to them. This is one of those great interviews with attention.

@@mimi2the4, Titanic wasn't all that bad, but maybe it didn't make its full potential as a serious movie. Or did it? It was kinda cheesy, but it was more a story of young love than the Titanic disaster itself. Although the class difference between Dicaprio and Winslet's characters does somewhat highlight the class system onboard in general. Could it have been better? I don't know, how would you have changed it? It may be considered Dicaprio's worst film, I guess, but he was still young and he's matured into a better actor who can maybe pick and choose a bit more script-wise and maybe have more input on direction ideas. I dunno, your statement doesn't really negate mine lol. I wonder if Dicaprio would change anything about the movie in hindsight.

gym shoe Ah, gym(jim?), classic mistake to attempt to drive home your message by exaggerating to the point where no one is gonna believe you. You, in fact(you know this), are drawing your information from the same social media trough as Di Caprio's so-called "brain-dead" fans, so you need to be a little more discriminating in your sources if you wish to be taken seriously as an above average shoe. Truth is(you also know this) that Leo is neither god nor the prince of lies, but somewhere very much in between. Better research, then, not just hearsay, and we'll be happy to grant you a hearing.

I love the movie, but my overall feeling each time I see it is that's it's hard work to watch, you used the word traumatic, that's probably pretty close. "I endorse films like this being made still." I completely agree. I love that Leo points out CGI films, and superhero films, and how we still need films like "The Revenant". These types of films, in my opinion, are so much more meaningful, and display the human experience in such a raw, unflinching light. I feel like the industry is so overrun with "throw away" movies. I absolutely have superhero fatigue. I seek out films like this, and think it is important that this type of work be supported. This is a film that has never left me, and for good reason.

There have been a lot of Academy Award winning actors who worked very hard - physically, mentally and emotionally for the Oscars they've won - but I don't think there has ever been another actor in all of Hollywood's history that has truly, earnestly and fervently EARNED their Oscar more than Leonardo DiCaprio. With said, there were many other roles of Leos that where incredibly worthy of at least being nominated if not Oscar deserving. The fact that he has only been nominated TWICE throughout his entire career is just inconceivable to me. The first time he was nominated was for best supporting actor for his role in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", which to the shock and awe of many, he didn't win. The second time he was nominated, was for best actor for his role in "The Reverent" which THANK GOD, he won. There are all sorts of presumptions and postulations as to how or why he wasn't nominated for some of his other outstanding performances, but none of them have ever made sense to me.
Every role that Leo has ever landed or taken on, he has poured his heart, soul and full-focused passion into each and every character that he's portrayed. He has this uncanny ability to really pull you in with such an intriguing captivation that you either compassionately identify with or care deeply about his character. There are of course other actors in Hollywood who can do this, but not with the same commanding influence that Leo is capable of summoning. He has had this extraordinary capability even in his earlier movies, from "This Boy's Life" and most especially to "Basketball Diary's" he has such a remarkable talent that can leave a lasting effect on you, even days later. (Or if you're like me, even years later. LOL)

His acting in Catch me if you Can was some of the best acting I’ve ever seen. His ability to make the viewer become so absorbed in the movie/show is completely amazing. If Leo ever got the chance to read this I want to say thank you for inspiring me... thank you for making me appreciate history... thank you~

I'm 71 years old and spent my entire life working and living outdoors in the wilderness and backcountry of Idaho. I worked on horseback summers and skis/snowshoes, and sno-cats in the winters, suffering frostbite and hypothermia quite often. A couple of winters had temps of -25 to -38 degrees not taking into account wind chill. Although I never encountered grizzlies I did have many run-ins with black bears, cougars, wolves, and sasquatch LOL. Anyway, I had quite a time, and it sounds like you did too Leo... ;-)

Without even contemplating the skill of the director and what the crew said about how hard it was to create, when you watch it you find yourself mind blown at how elaborate and difficult some the scenes and sequences were to make.
