Ditto. And so sorry for your loss. (From broken 💔 mom to broken 💔 mom) The pain off losing a child is excruciating! Leo was amazing in this! It's one thing to captivate an audience the way he does but to make an audience understand the pain and agony of losing a child without words/lines and without having been a father himself is just mind blowing!
Beautifully spoken. It's apparent how well spoken DiCaprio is. Just so nice to listen to a man with a large vocabulary. I don't come across many people like that in my everyday excursions through life and it's refreshing to hear that from him.
I agree. and also great to have an interviewer who allows him time to develop his answer and listens to him. That's pretty rare, most every interview these days is in 30 second sound bytes. this had some depth.
I remember when Leo won that Oscar, I was a senior and the next day after Oscar night, all my friends and peers were watching the Oscar video and cheering him on, when you have high school kids in a very carefree generation rooting for him, you know you deserved that shit.
I think Leo has deserved his Oscar loong time ago, and I think most of us will agree about this fact. One of the greatest actors if not the greatest of his generations. One of very few thou that when I see him speak normally like this I just can't ,,connect" any single part of any role he has ever played with. His transformations on the screen are incredible, that's how phenomenal actor he is.
i dont think he should've been nominated for titanic - the basketball diaries, definitely - that's a brilliant movie! (not that titanic is a bad movie, its just not his best performance)
@@mir14004 - I'm not saying he wasn't good in Titanic but I agree he he had better roles. Hollywood is such a f*cked up place I think he didn't win sooner because someone had it out for him.

His acting in Catch me if you Can was some of the best acting I’ve ever seen. His ability to make the viewer become so absorbed in the movie/show is completely amazing. @Kim W. it’s hasn’t waned for me either way, both it’s impact as a great movie experience and the memories of the pain and loss and hardships. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
@John Coleman - this film is visceral, you feel yourself being chewed on by the bear, you feel yourself in that freezing river, you want to drag yourself out of that grave. I love the movie, but my overall feeling each time I see it is that's it's hard work to watch, you used the word traumatic, that's probably pretty close. @@sparksfly6149 Avengers Infinity War was a truly masterpiece imo. It´s honestly in my top 10 films of all time. But thats an exception. The Marvel films are not bad in general but only a few are very good
Yeah, but how ya gonna do a movie like Avengers etc without the CGI? Let's face it, they'd look pretty silly. There's room enough at the buffet for both types imo. But I agree, movies like the Revenant are too few and far between.
Leo is probably the best actor of our generation. he has played so many different roles perfectly.nobody else could pull off some of the stuff he has, including acting out this entire movie with his eyes.
kiraMJ93 if Heath Ledger was still alive, and he continued his style of Method acting, he’d be in the conversation as top 5 in my opinion (current), if his role as Joker was any indication.
I absolutely LOVED this movie!! Leo deserved his Oscar. Movies like this are way underrated. I personally enjoy movies and scenery such as this one. I am so tired of Hollywood only doing super hero movies. I like the intense drama movies ones that tell a story and can make you cry. The cinematography in Revenant is absolutely stunning! Every one did a fantastic job.
It’s very easy to watch him because he’s so comfortable and natural. I would be really self conscious doing something like that it would make me act weird hahaha
Leonardo is a class act. And I think that's why he's who he is. He holds himself in high regard, but he never gloats, he never expresses conceit, despite his stature in the entertainment industry and the world in general. You can tell he's genuinely grateful for what he has. He's polite. He's thoughtful. He focuses on the art, and has healthy fun with the other elements that come with being a world-known and renowned movie star.
I think I've watched this 12-15 times and each time I seem to see more things, you watch it in a dark room and you have feelings that its maybe you without the pain that he is going threw, the soundtrack is unbelievable and so is the price of it, last I looked you could not even purchase it anymore, what a great movie Leo!
While I see this Man, always I find there is a true difference between a star and an Actor. Star always stays in the mind of the people where an Actor stays inside the ❤️ of the people. That's the reason people say he is not a star....that's correct...he is a genius actor who understands the Cinema very well than the so called star.
Great movie, This Boy's Life is great one. But the fact that he played someone with Down Syndrome in What's Eating Gilbert Grape and didn't get torn to shreds by the media is the ultimate proof of how good of an actor he was even then. Very few can pull that off!

Leo is a national treasure. Good interview, and it was a great movie. My dad is a widower, and hard to get out of the house. I got him to come to the movies with me to see this when it was in theaters, and he said afterwards that it was his favorite movie ever. His previous favorite? Bridge on the River Kwai.
Coincidentally, Leonardo DiCaprio is in my top 3 all time favorite movies- *1. Catch Me If You Can* (this is one of those films that I could seriously watch over and over again and never get sick of it. I've already seen it over 50 times and still enjoy every minute of it. No movie will *_ever_* take the #1 spot. This movie holds that place forever). *2. The Departed* (Partially filmed in my hometown of Boston, this has always been damn close to first place on my Top List) *3. Shutter Island* (Such a great film and book. Another one of Leo's underrated awesome films. He portrayed his character so good, I would have given him an Oscar in a millisecond. Anyone who's seen it will probably agree with me, too. Transforming from one type of character to another, then to another. Not many actors could pull off something so challenging. But he seemed to do it with ease). I never considered him my favorite actor, but I suppose he deserves that title as well. LoL
Agreed. Shutter Island is terribly underrated. Me and my friend always argue whos a bigger Leo fan and she never even watched Shutter Island Lol. I guess i earned the bigger fan title since I showed her that film.
AlphaDeltaXray i can’t get behind the departed. It was literally a copy from a Japanese film scene for scene minus japan for Boston. The director with all his incredible films won best film for this one was a shame.
Without even contemplating the skill of the director and what the crew said about how hard it was to create, when you watch it you find yourself mind blown at how elaborate and difficult some the scenes and sequences were to make.
This movie blew my mind....had to watch it again and again....Leonardo you are the best at your craft..pls keep on giving us more great roles like this.....
He is one class act that's for sure. I saw the movie and it stayed with me to this very day. To think like he said, people lived and worked and had to survive in this exact way. Unbelievable. What a movie!! Thank you to all that had anything to do with the making of this movie.✌
teljnyazhka good actor yes! Handsome no! Not anymore he struggles with his weight he is not fat but pudgy he looked great in the great gatsby and the wolf of wall street he has to lose weight to do certain roles and he is not 40 yet. Great actor though!
One of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen: from that amazing opening battle, to the horrifying bear attack and the gorgeous visuals. This movie is art!
Leo is my favourite actor...regardless what film, what character, what storyline...he always bring the best of his craft to giving only the best of him as a serious committed actor
Leo should have won at least 3 academy awards by now. I can name at least 4 movies for witch he should have won the academy award..One of the best ever in Hollywood...
He’s awesome. Amazing actor, huge $ contributer to multiple causes. Never been in trouble/drugs/tabloids. Doesn’t act weird off camera-just a good guy with unreal talent
Leo's done a lot of great movies but this is one of my favorites. I've been watching him all my adult life. What's Eating Gilbert Grape was the first movie I remember seeing him in and it's still one of my favorites today 25 years later. Talk about a gifted actor.
I have watched 1000s of films and i love my films. But this masterpiece is number one. you can see the effort, crit and thought put into this and Leonardo is perfect for it. It teached me a lesson in life too is to always keep moving and keep going no matter how hard things get and if it gets really bad just keep breathing. Got me past a hard time and i have watched it 4 times now i will again in the future.
I totally agree with Leo about no more super hero films and that we need better creators that really take the actors through the elements, it’s literally a work of art! It’s a dying breed for real!
Revenant is just an incredible movie .And one of the reasons that make t to this stage is Leo's acting .He is an amazing actor . But as we know behind one success their are a lot of people and that what makes Revenant perfect
I loved that movie ,, the rawness of it ,,, the reality of it ,,, it brings It home to what kind of world we live in , but how fortunate we are that we don't have to struggle like that anymore ,, but some still do ,,, we need to appreciate life for what it is , and it's raw beauty which we seem to ignore ,,, the beauty of life but the dangers of it to ,,,

You, in fact(you know this), are drawing your information from the same social media trough as Di Caprio's so-called "brain-dead" fans, so you need to be a little more discriminating in your sources if you wish to be taken seriously as an above average shoe. Truth is(you also know this) that Leo is neither god nor the prince of lies, but somewhere very much in between. Better research, then, not just hearsay, and we'll be happy to grant you a hearing.
As for Elon Musk...
Most underrated movie in modern times, excellent story telling. Also brought light to a rough hard period in history.
I typically do not like celebrities once they start receiving so much praise and hype. It’s hard to tell who’s actually more talented, more genuine, more personable, etc. Leonardo is somewhat of a rarity these days. He’s always respectful, well spoken, humble and shows a deep appreciation for the efforts given around him to make his success possible. He’s one of the greats.
rygi23 yesssss he is very respectful
you’ve said it all !! i couldn’t agree more
He puts me in mind of S Heughan.
He looks so mature ,patient and down to earth.
He’s so pretty🙈😊
I have always loved Leo. He’s an incredible actor
+Eddie VIII obviously either you or your friend, or both, don't know what you're talking about. Apparently your friend stayed inside for the winter scenes& didn't wade thru the water or walk in the snow. Pleasant??... You must not have seen interviews with Hardy or the other people who worked in Canada&Argentina on the movie. Tho at one point a warm spurt melted the Canadian snow, causing a move to Argentina to complete filming, the bulk of the movie was filmed in frigid conditions. Not any interviewed mentioned "pleasant conditions."
Leo is best....
Tasha Vladimiroff MI TO!😍

Ditto. And so sorry for your loss. (From broken 💔 mom to broken 💔 mom)
The pain off losing a child is excruciating!
Leo was amazing in this! It's one thing to captivate an audience the way he does but to make an audience understand the pain and agony of losing a child without words/lines and without having been a father himself is just mind blowing!
When I watched basketball diaries back in the day I knew this guy was gonna be a really great actor...big fan now keep it up leo
Leo seems to be so in love with his craft/ art in a world where people is craving for fame. He handled his fame well. Damn, I liked him.
Yes he is one of the few child stars that didn't end up all screwed up
Yes he's been great all along!

Yup
more for the rest of us
Beautifully spoken.
That's pretty rare, most every interview these days is in 30 second sound bytes. this had some depth.
then stop begging for racist simps andor hoing
I remember when Leo won that Oscar, I was a senior and the next day after Oscar night, all my friends and peers were watching the Oscar video and cheering him on, when you have high school kids in a very carefree generation rooting for him, you know you deserved that shit.
gym shoe and lol as you type that in your moms basement you virgin

I have yet to see a movie by him that I don’t thoroughly enjoy! Hats off Mr. DiCaprio 👏🏼
I think my favorite film of his is probably The Aviator
I'll count
I think Leo has deserved his Oscar loong time ago, and I think most of us will agree about this fact. One of the greatest actors if not the greatest of his generations. One of very few thou that when I see him speak normally like this I just can't ,,connect" any single part of any role he has ever played with. His transformations on the screen are incredible, that's how phenomenal actor he is.
I stopped breathing so many times during this movie. It was gorgeous!
So did Hugh Glass
@23chrisfm dude wtf? It's not funny the first time, let alone the tenth.
23chrisfm lmfao
@23chrisfm bahahahaha are you fucking kidding me right now? You're justifying your thoughts from 2 RUclips likes? Lol you must be a youngin
@23chrisfm and the stupidity continues. C'mon guy you got to be smarter than that don't ya?
It still boggles my mind that Leo didn’t get nominated for Titanic.
That's Hollywood for you. It's not who you know it's who you blow.
Kummakummakummakummakummachameleon lmfao good one
i dont think he should've been nominated for titanic - the basketball diaries, definitely - that's a brilliant movie! (not that titanic is a bad movie, its just not his best performance)
@@mir14004 - I'm not saying he wasn't good in Titanic but I agree he he had better roles. Hollywood is such a f*cked up place I think he didn't win sooner because someone had it out for him.
For Titanic? Seriously?
Get real. He definitely didn’t deserve an Oscar nom for that role. Not even close.
that movie was incredible
steven vollmer therevenant
The revenant
richnyb your mum was shit.
It was alright. You sheeple just repeat what others say.
Let's settle on phenomenal
Leo in my opinion is one of, if not the best actor, of our time. He’s able to act and make you completely forget your watching a movie. His acting in Catch me if you Can was some of the best acting I’ve ever seen. His ability to make the viewer become so absorbed in the movie/show is completely amazing. If Leo ever got the chance to read this I want to say thank you for inspiring me... thank you for making me appreciate history... thank you~
The ending was so wholesome, what a great interview.
Best actor in the world. Smartest, most humble one too. I love that he stays mysterious and doesn't have any social media accounts
He does have social media lol but yh i agree
@@tahniabarrie2158 yeah but his social media has almost NOTHING to do with him but more for what he stands for & believes in.
@@christopherbanuelos4780 .... arent those the most fundamental of what a person is ?
@@tahniabarrie2158 Absolutely. My point is, his social media account has NOTHING to do with his personal life, such as; Who he's dating. Where he's dining. Where he's living. Where he's going. Who's he with. Where he's vacationing. What outfit is he wearing. What watch is he rocking. What shoes did he just buy....etc.
@@christopherbanuelos4780 you got rekt stfu lmao
The film was so immersive it felt like being there, suffering with characters. It’s a masterpiece with exceptional cinematography
this is actually a great interview props to the interviewer
I know she seemed different than some of the other interviewers
Leo is such the consummate professional. He never wavers when giving so, so many different interviews. I respect that.
I literally sat on the edge of my seat almost the entire way through this film. This movie had me from beginning to end.
I watched this movie first on DVD, soon as it finished I watched it again. Leonardo is a truly great talent. Well deserved Oscar.
I've watched it like 10x
I really loved this movie, but I feel I couldn’t watch it again it’s so traumatic.
It’s that realistic.
He simply had to win that Oscar.
John Coleman I’m only watching it in pieces. I’m so traumatized by it. I am watching at home YEARS after the theater release because I’m such a pansy! I knew it was going to be graphic hence the wait for me... I could never have watched it thru in a theater and I knew that back when it came out. But damn if it isn’t as bad as I imagined even after all these years of psychologically prepping myself 💥🤯🤮
@Kim W. it’s hasn’t waned for me either way, both it’s impact as a great movie experience and the memories of the pain and loss and hardships.
Two of the finest actors of our generation at work.
@@kimw.5369 what a softie
hehe, I've watched it well over 10 times, a true masterpiece.
He should have got an oscar like 10 times by now.
I know right starting from What is Eating Gilbert Grape
Tyronda Coleman agreed!!
cool it Napolean
One of my ancestors was on that expedition. I remember my grandfather telling me about it before the first movie came out.
7:53 lol he just roasted marvel
Yikes but honestly yeah
Marvel is wonderful and all, but like
The movies aren’t masterpieces, that’s all I’ll say.
Because those movies are trash and are a dime a dozen
Red Panties Night
Actually, it’s closer to 1 billion dollars a dozen.
Leo is probably the best actor of our generation. he has played so many different roles perfectly.nobody else could pull off some of the stuff he has, including acting out this entire movie with his eyes.
I agree
Brad Pitt’s up there too, man. Dude disappears into roles like Meryl Streep. Also, Tom Hardy’s no slouch. But Yeah Leo’s top 3.
James B matt damon is on the same page. i think they both are the few ones that can really disappear into roles and are extremely chameleonic.
kiraMJ93 if Heath Ledger was still alive, and he continued his style of Method acting, he’d be in the conversation as top 5 in my opinion (current), if his role as Joker was any indication.
@@agamerscoven i fully agree with both of you
Leo really knocked it out of the park on this one. No denying.
The only film in the last two decades that actually had me sitting on the edge of my seat... Great movie without question.
Did you miss Jumanji>?
I absolutely LOVED this movie!! Leo deserved his Oscar.
Movies like this are way underrated. I personally enjoy movies and scenery such as this one. I am so tired of Hollywood only doing super hero movies.
I like the intense drama movies ones that tell a story and can make you cry. The cinematography in Revenant is absolutely stunning! Every one did a fantastic job.
I saw it. It was good. I still think he’s great. I’m still a fan. 😗
This is how an interview should be done
He has a very likeable personality.
Titanic was a good movie
gym shoe wtf does the movie titanic have to do with political views
A S because he shoves his political views down our throats every chance he gets.
It’s very easy to watch him because he’s so comfortable and natural. I would be really self conscious doing something like that it would make me act weird hahaha
What a masterpiece! A pure eyegasm. The audience clapped at the end. That's when you know!
Katlyn Bailey I hated it.
Mr. Blunt your opinion fucking sucks
So true. When I saw Avatar for the first time in theaters the entire place roared with applause. That really is how you tell the best ones.
I think he is the best actor of our time. The Basketball Diaries, for starters.
He is ....!!
Great movie, This Boy's Life is great one. But the fact that he played someone with Down Syndrome in What's Eating Gilbert Grape and didn't get torn to shreds by the media is the ultimate proof of how good of an actor he was even then. Very few can pull that off!
basketball diaries is my fav movie!!
Manic Hispanic Arnie grape had Autism not Down syndrome 😬😬😬😬

Leo is a national treasure. Good interview, and it was a great movie. My dad is a widower, and hard to get out of the house. I got him to come to the movies with me to see this when it was in theaters, and he said afterwards that it was his favorite movie ever. His previous favorite? Bridge on the River Kwai.
She is awsesome dicaprio engaged with her well that is rare ! Dicaprio is unbelievable actor u gotta love him .
Coincidentally, Leonardo DiCaprio is in my top 3 all time favorite movies-
*1. Catch Me If You Can* (this is one of those films that I could seriously watch over and over again and never get sick of it. I've already seen it over 50 times and still enjoy every minute of it. No movie will *_ever_* take the #1 spot. This movie holds that place forever).
*2. The Departed* (Partially filmed in my hometown of Boston, this has always been damn close to first place on my Top List)
This Boys Life with Robert DeNiro when Leo was really young showed how talented he's been right from the start.
Don’t forget about The Aviator
AlphaDeltaXray i can’t get behind the departed. It was literally a copy from a Japanese film scene for scene minus japan for Boston. The director with all his incredible films won best film for this one was a shame.
Nate Boulware probably the best acting I’ve ever seen !!!!
I started watching Hollywood films
Because of Leo. He is a great actor. I am one of his million fans from India.#LoveLeo
WORLD OF MY CREATIONS that’s awesome, check out The Aviator he is great in that
This was an absolute clinic on how to interview. Fantastic.
I cant get enough of leo. Ive got a man crush on him. Cant say hes ever disappointed me. Hes my go to
Without even contemplating the skill of the director and what the crew said about how hard it was to create, when you watch it you find yourself mind blown at how elaborate and difficult some the scenes and sequences were to make.

He is one class act that's for sure. I saw the movie and it stayed with me to this very day.

What an amazing film. Cast and crew pulling together to make a unique piece of art. Truly one of a kind. Praise to all involved
I can name at least 4 movies for witch he should have won the academy award..One of the best ever in Hollywood...
i so agree. he has been totally underestimated or someone in Hollywood does like him that much
Probably cause he's not gay or bi... but appeals to the populist.
When CGI is a bonus point, not a staple in a movie.
Kudos to everyone who had to endure the actual environment, not just a stage and green screen.
He’s awesome. Amazing actor, huge $ contributer to multiple causes. Never been in trouble/drugs/tabloids. Doesn’t act weird off camera-just a good guy with unreal talent
One of the very best interviews that I’ve seen…this interviewer is sincere but above all she actually listens
Great interview, the interviewer commanding thoughtful interesting answers through her respectful intelligent demeanor.
one of the best actors ever ,AND THIS MOVIE is one of the best i ever seen
What a phenomenal actor. From Revenant all the way back to What's eating Gilbert Grape. The guy can play any role.
I could listen to Leonardo all day he’s got a beautiful poetic voice♥️
Leo's done a lot of great movies but this is one of my favorites. I've been watching him all my adult life. What's Eating Gilbert Grape was the first movie I remember seeing him in and it's still one of my favorites today 25 years later. Talk about a gifted actor.
I have watched 1000s of films and i love my films. But this masterpiece is number one. you can see the effort, crit and thought put into this and Leonardo is perfect for it. It teached me a lesson in life too is to always keep moving and keep going no matter how hard things get and if it gets really bad just keep breathing. Got me past a hard time and i have watched it 4 times now i will again in the future.
best best realistic movie. a must watch experience
Hans Beck well realistically the bear would've killed him in 10 seconds

Nick Jonathan realistically, not everything goes according to the plan.
Nick Jonathan smh you really are stupid

I totally agree with Leo about no more super hero films and that we need better creators that really take the actors through the elements, it’s literally a work of art! It’s a dying breed for real!
I remember Leo's pictures being in Bop magazine when I was 11. I thought he was soooo cute lol. He's come a long way.
