We all know that if anything gets nerfed its going to be wavedashing. Poseidon dash is so strong. Once people start getting good enough to avoid damage instead of using Athena dash they start to really see how broken tidal dash is. I beat 32 heat with it and hardly used my weapon at all.

After seeing part of this build I wanted to try it and before I even hit Lernie I had Bad News, Glacial Glare, Crystal Clarity an extra cast AND WINTER HARVEST. This was the most unethical run I have ever had. So bananas.

First time i beat hades i used crystal beams with chaos sheild and kept sheilding in the corner and slowly killing him.

Its best to think in percentages when choosing upgrades. Going from 10 to 12 dmg per tick is adding 20% more dmg output. Adding 1s to 6.8s is roughly 15% increase in dmg output.
Up until Styx it looked close but damn that Hades fight, he got disintegrated.
I still believe beam will bring us a 50 heat win one day. Also yeah, the call helped at hades so much. 99% of phase 3 you were in call lol

Here is the proble, Haelian: You never took a "strike". Taking a "leftmost" boon on the grid, makes it much less likely for that boon to show up. Every time you get a boon, they keep offering you a "strike", and being that you don't take it, they keep offering it. I am not a pro at this game, but I am a pro-level boon-hunter.

He kept saying just before he went to fight hades that no other demeter boons could help him at all. What about Killing Freeze? The boon that makes it when you have chill on all enemies then they begin to decay taking damage every second

I did a beam run at one point as well. Thought it was OP. Looked it up online, only to see people note it as being "only decent". Now that I've seen this, I feel reaffirmed in thinking that it's OP, lol.
Sleeper build
A build like this was what got me my first clear of Hades actually.
I just finished my first run with it. Obviously not like this. I just had regenerating cast, got a chaos boon that let me put two of them down, got that chill and time lengthen ability. And decreased my cooldown with Hermes. I didn't even bothered putting any boon on attack or special. Just had Athena's dash.
I just kept hiding behind the pillars and putting the crystals down every chance I got.

As a beginner player, beams are basically my dps in Hades fight since I'm not good enough to not be anything but defensive with him. I've beat Hades 5 times and every one of them had Stubborn Roots, Crystal Beams, and dash deflect. It carries so hard.
FINALLY beat Hades after close to 70 runs between my Switch and Steam, namely because of the inspiration from this video to use the crystal beam + glacial glare combo.
First weapon to escape with was the bow.

The only time I've seen gage gain like that was back when I first unlocked guan yu. I'd send out a blade and gain half my charge.
Stygian Soul needs an audio ding to indicate that you’ve regenerated a cast. It’s so hard to keep an eye on that indicator without dying.
2nd easiest win after the afk revenge build.
I think Arctic Blast (AOE at 10 stacks of chill and reset stacks) and the other boon from Demeter that executes chilled targets at 10% hp would have been so good too!

Hilarious thing is he's actually pretty inefficient with his placements. If he spammed them throughout the map there's more of a chance at least one beam will always be hitting something since even the duo boon it's good enough to just all drop in one spot

One reason to pick up Stubborn Roots was to make sure it would not appear on possible future Demeter pickup since you needed Glacial Glare.

I love these vids so much the build strats are so fun. I decided to try an ice beam build after avoiding them for ages bc of this video, suffered through only having one cast until I got Fully Loaded in STYX, and had the time of my life killing my dad with lasers. Only on 6 heat bc Im a baby and only started playing like a month ago but god that was satisfying
this inspired me to do my own crystal beam meme run. 2nd attempt I got 3 duos (Stubborn roots didn't even activate because pop pop didn't touch me) crystal clarity of course, deadly reversal. Fully loaded along with a chaos cast and auto reload. Plus an extra dash. Literally all I did was dash around in a circle placing beams and didn't even see where hades was. 10/10 would do again
30:50 I'd suggest Trippy Shot more if it didn't cast so oddly. If you're using Hera or Beowulf, it feels much better I think.

@@timon6427 WTF not recommending trippy shots? The cast got a 200% nerf during beta and is still nowadays the most damaging cast overall... Just stop playing with a crontroller, take off aim assist and see how much room-cleaning it does (like the gun with the 5 special hammer)... Give it the same chaos and Demeter/zeus duos and this cast is just amazing...
Me when Demeter first showed up and i happened to get crystal clarity on my first ever run with her boons available: "This game has turrets?!!"
i dunno if everyone knows this but, in one of my runs i was fighting the tiny vermin, and after its vermin summons I just stood around that hole area, and the its AI couldn't track to me and come to a melee range (the tiny vermin was on the other side of the hole area and just stood there). I think it might be helpful for anyone who wanna cheese that fight.

I did one of these today, I know it's late lol. But i got so many more Demeter boons I eventually got arctic blast as well. And I gotta say, that increases the damage by a very significant margin

@@Haelian bb? dunno, with maxed mirror and Demeter's trinket for 4 acts I got her 3-4 times (and 3 times Arty) with rerolls etc i cant even get freezing beem until Elysium -_- still never saw bad news even with rerolls and 3 hermeses.......... it's feeling impossible to build even no rarity duo using demeters keepsake for all acts, it ruined like 5+ runs alrdy. This game need some rng-control, rerolls didnt work at all

Beams with chill and killing freeze was how I beat hades the first time.
Crystal beams are insane, my first successful run ever was thanks to those. Especially with the crystal clarity duo, that shit just DESTROYS everything within SECONDS, without you having to even do much of anything!
Dash Nova with Athena's deflect and the double smash actually wrecks very very quickly if you add either Ares or Artemis

Just FYI not that you needed it but arctic blast is basically extra 50 dps in AOE per beam if common (100 per blast, 1 beam does one stack every 0.2 seconds... If there are no internal cooldowns) i hope you do a run like this WITH the arctic blast sometimes
Epic cast over common is actually a 25% increased base DPS, so it's very noticeable.
Ice literally got so pissed at melting all the time, it decided to melt others.

Did this run with a doom laser rail, and the artemis duo boon with demeter. Also got the artemis legendary with +2 casts.
Also pommed my beam time a bunch, and got a beam timer extension along with "does more damage to distant enemies". I barely got hit .

On my last run I had crystal beam and glacial glare, but refused bad news twice in a row bc I assumed the damage bonus only worked for the first hit of the first crystal beam. Learn something new every day I guess

What’s the reason why tight deadline is harder in this patch at very high heat than the previous patch?
You have 20:00 minutes total to beat dad now with max Deadline, it was a little more lenient before where you could just get an easy Elysium to skate through. Still a good change overall, only becomes troublesome at 45+ where you might want to consider turning it down.
This is fucking ridiculous can’t wait to try it

I have a few questions about this run.
How come he chooses the poseidon sword when the whole mechanic is to to knock the blood out of enemies, something you never do with demeter's cast?
At 11:30 when he gets the hermes boon, it's like he knows there's a fish without even having seen it. How did he do that?
Anyway, great work dude, I've recently been too sick to play the game myself and this has been keeping my spirits up.
The fish noise plays but is muffled by my talking/other sound effects in the video. Poseidon is still a good option because it gives you 50% more cast damage passively. Achilles might be a bit more interesting but is tougher to use well.

The only noise of the "urns of wealth" is the shout of "fuck, I see the urn", when the character already enters the door and nothing can be done.
Man, I can’t even beat dad for the first time and this man gets hit 2 times in the entire fight, while having the pact specifically tailored to make the dad fight as hard as possible

Is it worth trying to do the same "20 casts on the screen at once" silliness with the Ares cast + Ares/Artemis duo? Seems like it would be pretty vicious.

oh and lol, i had a weird ass run the other night with Chiron..Deadly Flourish NEVER dropped.. ever. the entire run, but I had a good special dmg chaos boon at the beginning to compensate, so i just winged it without resetting...and I ended up getting Drunken Flourish at the very end of the run.. and it turns out, it's actually not that bad at all...
I havent beaten enough of the game but these comments have confirmed my sneaking suspicion of Demeter being Zagreus's Grandma since in Greek mythos she is often looking for her daughter Persephone and I think thats why she froze everything

Oof, I wish. Support Fire's text reads so that it only fire one arrow every time you cast though, not every time it hits.

What's the deal with the cast cooldown thing? How can you play so many crystals at once?
Stygian soul is an alternate mirror upgrade that gives your cast a cooldown instead of having to get it back. Glacial Glare is a boon with crystal beam that makes them last significantly longer
