For a while gilga was my go to purely for the extra dashes. Would just splash dash with sea storm and zeus lightning boons, rupture, and wall slam damage. Throw on like doom special or something to hit the big enemies. Go for like 7 dashes. 100+ damage splash dash with that many damage is pretty amazing. Bonus points if you can stack auto revenge or Poseidon/ares duo cast.
you guys out there beating hades just with dashes, and here i am grinding for a month and finally beating hades with a sliver of my health left. It just shows how much difference practice and familiarity can bring to the table.
Some of it is talent as you are clearly very slow. My gf got to middle of Elysium in her first run ever not even knowing what the commands do or any boon etc

You'd be surprised how many builds are possible. Try Aspect of Poseidon with Ares cast (upgrade + tier 2 boons as much as possible) and Artemis special, then get the Duo boon. GG.
@@mskcrc Why would you choose Aspect of Poseidon over Achilles? Achilles gives a much bigger boost and the Ares cast doesn’t stick in enemies, so you don’t benefit from the special.
@@Coran_06 hunting blades + poseidon gives +50% cast dmg plus all the other poms and dmg boons you’d get would be verrrry nice even if the disloding special isnt used
One of the strengths of builds like that (primarily stacked splash dash build) is that you're almost always invincible, and they can sometimes do decent damage. In fact, my fastest run so far is an accidental splash dash build (I was doing a Lambent Plume run, got offered that landing uppercut hammer, and then had to settle for a splash dash... and decided that I don't like fists special anyway). Oh, btw. Aside from what you've seen this run, Dio offers +all damage boon (Strong Drink), so it could've been actually okay to take those gates early.

In a lot of these meme runs, you start the run with the god you want and then take their keepsake second. Are you using "give up" to see what is on offer and then picking a build that works with the seed?
I don't know if this is how Dan does it but the seeds stay the same if you give up during the run, i.e. you'll know the first rewards for the first several rooms and can plan accordingly by restarting.

It saves the most recent room you've been in period, even in a run, but only if you quit to Menu, not quit the Run, marked with the "Give Up"(Run-Quit, May or may not save starting seed) and "Quit"(Game-Quit-and-save-the-Run's-progress) buttons. This is why "Save Scumming" exists, because there are ways to change the outcome of something in the room via other actions before interacting with that thing, which has now been "Scummed." Haelian is just a bit fast with his button mashing, and as basically no one except people who specifically want to scum an outcome will know A) it works, and B), the difference between the buttons, it should surprise no one in the know that those two facts will surprise/confuse people that aren't. Congrats on your initiation into The Know. Have a cookie.

I have been watching videos but I only ever make builds that I find on the fly. I have been playing with a special Ares build on several different weapons. I am loving the game and have less than 20 runs. The farthest I have made it is the boss of Elysyium I just can't beat that damn Mino and his boy. I just got back with a special doom fist build. Wish me luck.
What I found easiest was to just focus on the Minotaur first. Try and be far from Theseus and just kill the Minotaur, and then you don’t have to deal with all the craziness at once.
I hate watching your videos, because they made me want to try these cool builds, but you can't just plan to use them, you have to get luck and have the perfect conditions. I really wish there was a buttom to just die if the seed you got is shit.

Hey, if you pause immediately at 12:35, it specifically states in the box it saves which chamber you're at, too. Says nothing about resetting the run.
