Justice is a masterpiece. So ice cold, so powerful, mean. Song writing is off the charts. This is, to my ear, the ultimate metal sound. Equalizer in a perfect V shape. Heavy as hell. Crisp. Evil.

Thanks for listening to these! I think previously I took Metallica for granted as a teenager, I have all their albums, however re-listening and being older I realize just how great Metallica is.
I remember listening to them very heavily in my youth to the point that when I started listening to other bands, I was like "Are these songs supposed to be this short?" Metallica has always made epic ballads, not just songs.
Lyrically I think Justice is Hetfield at his best. The lyrics are deep, insightful and highly intelligent. Never enough credit for them in my book. The whole album is a complete songwriting masterclass.
@@arjunmukherjee3347 From a mixing and engineering perspective, I disagree. It's FAR from perfect. The bass isn't low, it's non-existent. I remember when this album came out in september of 88. I was 16 years old. Had a kick ass stereo system in the back of 1970 nova ss. Cranked up all the way. Cruising around...ugggg... the good old days.
One of my favourite Metallica tracks, always thought it was much heavier than The Thing that Should Not Be, though most people seem to disagree. The live version from Moscow is absolutely brutal: 10/10. This is a song that really benefits from having Jason bass in the mix, so the live versions feel much ‘bigger’. I think your next step should be to check out the live versions of a lot of these songs. In terms of going beyond the thrash bands you mentioned, not sure how much exposure you have to other 80’s bands. But I could give you a tonne of recommendations from bands like Ratt, Skid Row, Queensryche, early Pantera, etc. The 80’s had so many excellent metal bands; it truly was the time when metal was on top of the world!
This is my personal absolute favorite Metallica album, and possibly album ever.. the whole tone of this album is just angry, crunchy, and not a single song on here that doesn’t make you wanna bang your head 🤘🏼

I'm so glad you're playing so much Metallica because I like watching you and I forgot just how much I love this band. Hetfields enunciation is so clear...I think that's one thing that makes him a great singer. ✌️
Oh my hell, you restarted this song for the intro... MollyBoy - you are definitely my tribe. I listen to this intro, over and over and over. I have made the intro one of my ring tones and use it for everything! One of my all time favorite Metallica songs, along with all their instrumentals. Those songs are just gorgeous pieces of music. And to your question of what other bands to check out that'll do well, AC/DC, Godsmack, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, maybe some G&R (guns & roses), more Judas Priest, Korn, Rob Zombie, Rammstein. Some popular but maybe not as metal, Billy Idol, The Cult, Motley Crue, Led Zepplin (old school rock and HUGE rabbit hole), Queensryche (circa 80-90), and Van Halen. And more of my most recentfavn, no genre, every genre band, Falling in Reverse. It's a kaleidoscope list of music and artists but worth the time to check them out. Alot of hidden gems here. Maybe look up song names, see the most downloaded and list them for a 'you pick my next song reaction' contest for your subscribers. Keep the reactions coming, love your channel.
Imo, the way James Hetfield uses his vocals in their songs. Especially on this album ...And Justice For All. It's what I would say the way a metal singer spits lyrics like a rapper spits lyrics in hip hop/gangster rap. Both James and Lars grew up listening to different genres of music. You can tell listening to Lars ' drumming, by the way he does that tap ticka tap. It's very jazzy and hip hopish. I've noticed that alot of rap fans and black listeners will notice that about Lars. But James does have a way he spits the lyrics.
If you feel like jumping forward in their career just to give you a glimpse, have a listen to ALL NIGHTMARE LONG from 2008 or SPIT OUT THE BONE from 2016. Unbelievable they could still write songs like these all these later. There’s SO MANY SONGS! Thats why they’re one of the greatest and enduring bands of all time
There is something special, something undefined or explainable that happens sometimes with the all time greats, they may not individually be the best but when they come together something unexplainable happens, that is METALLICA
It’s a great album. My favourite album. The production was deliberate to be more raw and more aggressive. Yes it suffers a bit with the bass getting lost, but they had just lost Cliff, their ears were shot, and wanted to push the limit of a scooped aggressive guitar sounds. It suited the riffs, it suited James’ voice. Every song punches hard. Can’t wait until you get into the breakdown and solo in Frayed
You have been reacting to some of my favourite 80's Thrash bands. Here's some more from that era. Overkill, Testament, Forbidden, Nuclear Assault, Exodus (the band that Kirk Hammett founded and named before joining Metallica) Flotsam & Jetsam (the band Jason Newsted was with before joining Metallica), Annihilator (my favoutite band from my home country, Canada), Sabbat (England) Kreator, (Germany), Sodom, (Germany), Destruction (Germany), Stone (Finland), Voivod (Canada, Jason Newsted apparently helped them comeback from retirement), Razor (Canada), Sacrifice (Canada), Suicidal Tendencies (Crossover Thrash), Stormtroopers of Death (Scott Ian of Anthrax's Crossover Thrash project), Artillery (Denmark) Coroner (Switzerland). There are so many fantastic Thrash bands from the 80's that I can't recall at the moment as I am quite inebriated. When I do remember them, i will comment them on future reaction videos. A few New Wave of Thrash Metal bands that are influenced by the bands listed above that I have stumbled upon in the past 15 years... Evile (England, The Metallica influence oozes from their tunes) Lich King (U.S.), Havok (U.S.), Suicidal Angels (Greece, the Slayer influence is strong with these dudes), Nocturnal (Germany), Nocturnal Breed (Norway), Angelus Apatrida (Spain, the Slayer influence is strong with these dudes too), 3 Inches of Blood (Canada), Lazarus A.D. (U.S. the vocalist and bassist, Jeff Paulick, looks like he's Dimebag Darrell Abbott's bastard love child). Once again, too inebriated to remember and list them all and will comment them on future videos. Still feeling very nostalgic watching your reactions, keep 'em coming, my young Metal brother!!! 🤘
Regarding you mentioning that the melody from the one track sounded a lot like the other off the same album, when you eventually get around to "To Live Is To Die", there's a bit from "Blackened" in there as well.
It's so much fun watching a young man react to Metallica. Been a fan since 85. I was 13 and heard Ride. I still feel the same way whether I see them live or listening to the albums. And Justic is the Apex Predator of thrash metal. After that album they could not go anywhere else except The Black album.
It's no surprise to anyone that this is also one of the greatest metal albums of all time ❤❤and Metallica was able to release back to back masterpieces ❤ it's a rarity in the hard rock/ metal genre
Let’s go this is my favorite song from this album. The live version in Moscow 91 of this song is so good I recommend you to react to it because you won’t be disappointed🙏‼️
Best thing you can do is put the CD in, push play and listen to the whole album. Not too many bands and or CD’s you can do that with. This is definitely one that you can! Keep up the killer channel bro!🤘😎🤘
It was the first single from the album and for me it set the tone for the Justice, lyrically darker than previous albums...Harvester has such an awesome groove
Just discovered your channel, love your opinion on James vocals, considering this is 7 months ago is it safe to assume you know he is the rhythm guitarist, main songwriter (with the drummer), and is the one responsible for all the riffs??, he’s an absolute legend
Ive had this album since it came out. And it is still my favorite Metallica album. People can talk all they want about how good or bad they think Metallica are. But theyve been hitting it hard since the early 80s. And still pushing out music. Sure theyve changed. But who wouldnt over that time? My personal favorites are all of the albums up to and including this album. I am really loving watching your reactions and your discovery of into new geners of music. Just have fun brother.
And Justice has the best guitartone ive ever heard, razor Sharp, clean and still brutal. There is always hate, but every guitarplayer has tried to copy that Tone😂 Another amazing liveperformance is the day that Never comes from 2009 live in Quebec. Its a modern Classic, and even better than the Studioversion. I hope you enjoy it! Metallica is music, enjoy!😊
Look bro....youre not gonna always have bangers. This isn't about every video being a banger. This is about you connecting with your audience. With your supporters. It's about being true to yourself and the music. That will bring supporters/views. That's the key.
This is about whatever Mollyboy wants it to be about, not what you think it should be about. If he wants a banger every time that's what he should aim for, cus it's his channel.
@dzizas9534 absolutely but if he reads something or heard something that caught his attention, all means react to it. People start these kinds of channel all the time, but it's the ones who find self discovery and new loves for music that thrive
This was the first song I heard off this album when they played it on the Monsters Of Rock tour, a few months before the album came out. They had the second set in a five band bill, but the wildest fans of the day by far. I bought a white Metallica tank top, which I still have.
Lars’ drumming has inspired some of the most iconic drummers and have said it’s not always about speed and tricks. Lars’ playing was unique and always purposeful, inspired generations to drum. Both Lars and Kirk are very talented and were the perfect ones for Metallica as all of them (with Cliff) had the same vision as pioneers of Thrash metal. When jokingly asked if Joe Satriani (taught Kirk before Metallica) ever thought why Metallica didnt go for him instead of Kirk, he said he wouldnt want to come between what they were starting because he could see they were on to something big. Thrash metal. Rant over.
I got to hear this song 2 months before the And Justice for All album released when they previewed it for us at the Monsters of Rock concert in Miami in 1988. Needless to say we ran out and bought the album first thing later that year.
i live in Massachusetts US ( part of New England) 1st saw metallica in 91 and just about everytime they went to Worcester - Boston - Greatwoods - and Providence RI hell even at mudstock 99' if i get a chance to see them again would be show 19 if you love this music as much as you seem too ( pray you can see them live once )
There are so many complaints about the mix and bass sound, or lack there of. For me this is what makes it such a great album. It perfectly captured the anger/ aggression of the band at that time. And nothing else sounds like it. The “dryness” of the sound perfectly accentuates James vocals, making it my favourite performance by him.
I really agree, that James has really good voice. It really suits for Metallica, and I feel that especially on this Album, it gives always so angry feel, which is very nice. And it's nice to see the evolution from his young screaming voice to more singing style voice from Black album onwards. Based on vocalist voice, I would recommend dipping into band called Disturbed. Another metal band, which has insane good vocalist, David Draiman. I've recently found them, and I think they would suit into your reaction channel too, and it's quite popular reaction target. If you go for them, I really recommend start doing two of their songs, and comparing how skilled and amazing David is as a singer. So pick these two, and try to imagine same guy is singing on those: - Sound of Silence (either official music video or live versio on Conan show) - very beautiful, totally different style than usual heavy Disturbed, but listen to that singing voice! - Down with the Sickness. More heavy and their usual style of song. Again, good example of what David can do with his voice. Just don't pick the official music video, as there's part of the song which is cut out from it. I really recommend some of lyric video instead, as it gives the whole song experience as studio quality. So hoping to see some Disturbed reactions! If you haven't already listened to them, they would really suit into your channel I think. And of course, continue with Metallica too :)

I'm so glad you're playing so much Metallica because I like watching you and I forgot just how much I love this band. Hetfields enunciation is so clear...I think that's one thing that makes him a great singer. ✌️
The song One is their first real video clip they made. That is a great song to. Look forward to your reaction to that song. 🤘🤘
Back in the day we used to listen to it in the locker room before football games… Works like a charm!!!
My fav metallica album cause i bought it back in 1988 the day it was released. gr8 reaction molly keep rockin
Thats why they’re one of the greatest and enduring bands of all time
Or even Inamorata
You gotta see this one live!!!!!!!
Harvester of Sorrow is so good, and often overlooked on this album. Justice is full of amazing tracks but for some reason this one hits so hard.
My personal favourite metallica song..justice really is a stunning album
One of my favorite Metallica songs.
My favorite Metallica album and song by far. Keep on your grind! You're killing it IMO..
The cymbal crash coming out of that double bass kick pattern is fire.
I first heard this song live at the Monsters Of Rock show on 1988 and I couldn't wait for this album.
@hit.me.up.at.official_mollyboy sure, no worries
best heavy metal male voice - totally agree!
My intro into metallica was and justice for all, still one of my favorite albums
Another great reaction man 👏💪
Brings me back to when I first saw them in 84 ……incredible
You can start to react to Exodus, Kirk Hammetts band, before he joined Metallica.
I love the song "Blacklist" by them🔥
So many bands bro you will never run out
And Justice has the best guitartone ive ever heard, razor Sharp, clean and still brutal.
There is always hate, but every guitarplayer has tried to copy that Tone😂
Another amazing liveperformance is the day that Never comes from 2009 live in Quebec.
Everything other than this is a shortcut. Don't take shortcuts.
just make a poll what to listen to
This is about whatever Mollyboy wants it to be about, not what you think it should be about. If he wants a banger every time that's what he should aim for, cus it's his channel.
@@TommyHC1978 I agree 100. I didn't mean to sound like a dik.
Yea James' vokal is the best!
Try Rainbow - Stargazer, magnificent vocal and instrumental 🙌🙌🙌
THAT'S MY MOLLYBOY!!! Once you get to Death Magnetic you'll be on your way!! SO much more!! KEEP GOING!!!
Rant over.
100 percent agree
I got to hear this song 2 months before the And Justice for All album released when they previewed it for us at the Monsters of Rock concert in Miami in 1988. Needless to say we ran out and bought the album first thing later that year.
Metallica is nothing short of metal royalty!!
i live in Massachusetts US ( part of New England) 1st saw metallica in 91 and just about everytime they went to Worcester - Boston - Greatwoods - and Providence RI hell even at mudstock 99' if i get a chance to see them again would be show 19 if you love this music as much as you seem too ( pray you can see them live once )
thanx. U hit so many points i did when i was your age. Music = Life.
By far one of my all-time favorites.
So pick these two, and try to imagine same guy is singing on those:
- Sound of Silence (either official music video or live versio on Conan show) - very beautiful, totally different style than usual heavy Disturbed, but listen to that singing voice!
Shortest straw and frayed ends of sanity are my favorites from justice album. React to some exodus soon bro🤘🤘
I'm sure he'd enjoy Like Father Like Son or Toxic Waltz
there’s a reason they’re the goats. prime example
