- Sayuri Kinoshita was a world record holding freediver. Here she dives into Dean Blue Hole in Long Island, Bahamas, where the sand off the beach can drop 200 meters down into an underwater cavern. Sayuri died in Okinawa on Monday the 15th of July 2019 after a fall.

Lifegoal unlocked: Get underwater picture/footage from you Daan. If I remember correctly, you were teaching a workshop on UW photography during a deep week (maybe 1year ago), was it good and do you have any plans on doing it again? Keep on inspiring us all!
Hi Damien, yes, i did 2 workshops on UW photography in Bali - and i loved it. I'd like to do more, and get a bit more in depth - so to speak - by also doing practical classes, so photographing together and editing together.

Please tell me the secret - how do you avoid the water pressure in the deep? When I dive in the sea down about 4-5 meters the pressure pushing painful my ears then I have to go back up. Thank you.

how that cavern is not already full of sand O_o for sure it would not take long to be 5 meters less deep.
exactly - people suspect that there must be a connection to the open ocean somewhere down there

How come sand just constantly pours into the hole?
it's not a constant thing, but as the hole is right next to the beach, when people are walking over the sand next to the whole, they push it down and it starts cascading. There must be a connection between the hole and the ocean somewhere deep, otherwise the hole would've become less deep by now.
