@@Hazeydaze92 yes, you're right. It seems everywhere man is, things get all effed up! Thinking of an occasional dive in the water, just to get away, if we could breathe underwater without scuba gear, would be so cool!

My family is from Long Island, Bahamas where this hole is. Videos like this are awe-inspiring and also very anxiety provoking. How vast and incomprehensible the ocean is.
It is as much space as what nasa gave us for space. Untill we can explore all the depths of the oceans I’ll never believe a ship can chart the skies. If a telescope can look millions of miles in the dark in space why can’t we see the bottom of the oceans? Go figure
@@daydreamdesignually, exploring Earth's oceans is extremely difficulty. We can see distants stars because between us and then, there's nothing, it's completely empty, there isn't even air. So because of this, the light of that star can travel and reach us. But light can't travel far in the water, about 100 meters (or 300 feet) there isn't any sunlight anymore, everything bellow this depth is in complete darkness. And without light, we can see nothing. And there is another major difficulty in studying the oceans: the pressure. We have air all around us, and this air has some weight, and it causes some pressure in us, but because we are used to it we just ignore. We measure the atmospheric pressure in atmospheres, so at the beach, we have 1 atm (one atmosphere) of pressure. The International Space Station (ISS) is in space, where it is in complete vacuum, or 0 atm. So it has to endure 1 atm of pressure difference to keep the inside of it pressurized. And it is a lot. In space movies, when a hole is opened on the ship, people are ejected out of it because of this bigger internal pressure that pushes everything outward. But on the ocean is different, every 10 meters (30 feet) of depth you go, the pressure of the water increases by 1 atm. So at 90 meters (270 feet), the pressure already is at 10 atm. A submarine at this depth would have to endure a 9 atms difference. So a submarine hull needs to be 9 times stronger then the ISS's. And at the deepest point in the sea, the Marianna's Trench, at a depth of almost 11 thousand meters, or almost 8 miles, the pressure is more than 1100 atm. A submarine to go this deep needs to be more than a thousand times stronger than the ISS. At this depth, each square inch of the hull needs to hold the weight of the Eiffel Tower on top of it. Yes, one Eiffel Tower for each and every square inch of the submarine. This is just completely absurd. Exploring the space is hard and expensive because of the Rocket Equation, and the sun's radiation, and some other things. But the biggest problem in exploring space is just the isolation, is far away from everything, and expensive and time consuming to send help. But exploring Earth's oceans is almost impossible, because of the huge Water Pressure.

When I was stationed on a remote Philippines island during Vietnam, the fishing fleet from Manilla would stop by for our outdoor movies. funny you should say that, the ability to relax is the absolute key to freediving. It takes a little practice but when you learn to relax into the ocean, the experience becomes just as it looks here.
Glad you liked it! do practice, but make sure you never do it alone in the water! Best is to take a course, it only takes a couple of days but will give you the knowledge to extend you time but also be safe.
Oohhh.....seems a little scary of the unknown but I've always wanted to do this........it would be beautiful.... relaxing.... And exciting all at the same time..... very magnificent video🌴🐚🌴💜

gormlaith yes this can be learned. There are some tricks but in the end its just training. Just search up freediving training in Google and you will find alot answers
Anna von Boetticher A little while? You are kidding us, right? It takes A LOT of training and it's for the happy few who can make time for that training. Please be honest about it...
Jessie, the type of diving Anna is doing here really doesn't take that long to learn -most beginners can dive to 15 or 20 meters, and do a little dynamic like that. Really doesn't take years, really not just for the 'happy few'.
OMG I was struggling to breath just watching this, how long can these guys hold their breath for I wonder. I can’t even swim, this would be a dream come true for me.
Superb performance and beautifully shot, though I wasn't sure about the sitting on the edge. I think love and respect for the reef should mean you touch nothing and leave zero impact where possible. Magnificent video.
I understand your hesitation and share your concern for touching reefs and coral -but the edge of the hole is made of rock, and we didn't disturb any of the life around it.
Fair play and thanks for your reply. I live and work in Egypt and one of my big concerns is the behaviour I see from tourists who enter the water. They have no understanding or appreciation of the fragility of the environment. Much more is needed in terms of education, but also how you model behaviour in the water. We have a saying in the UK that goes.........., "monkey see.......money do". In short, people will imitate what they see. Anyways...superb video. Bravo.
@@howardgilmour8464 I dont know but I rekkon that car you drive around everyday of your life probably does a lot more damage to the environment then stepping on a piece of coral every now and then

funny you should say that, the ability to relax is the absolute key to freediving. It takes a little practice but when you learn to relax into the ocean, the experience becomes just as it looks here.
Running out of air doesn’t seem relaxing though lol
Man hat es mir leider schon vorweg genommen - einfach unfassbar schön und friedvoll!
Danke! Es war wirklich ein schöner Moment.
How long can she hold her breath WOW..... I can hold my breath for 5 seconds LOL😂
haha, I can last long enough to enjoy the underwater world.
It´s so cool how all fish disappear on cue, great actors!
the fish are the best :-)!
I can hold my breath for about 17 seconds. How deep could I dive? I wonder.
deeper than you think!
To the bottom. you might not make out alive but you would enjoy 17 seconds of it. Lol
You should try a bucket of water...first. Keep your head in water. Gradually you will be able to hold your breathe for a longer time.
Absolutely amazing! Somehow I should pencil in the time to practice my breath holding.
Glad you liked it! do practice, but make sure you never do it alone in the water! Best is to take a course, it only takes a couple of days but will give you the knowledge to extend you time but also be safe.
It looks peaceful
it was very calm and peaceful, which is the key to freediving
Oohhh.....seems a little scary of the unknown but I've always wanted to do this........it would be beautiful.... relaxing.... And exciting all at the same time..... very magnificent video🌴🐚🌴💜
Thank you -it's an amazing feeling to experience and i can heartily recommend it!
thank you Tiffany! It is really a unique thing to experience. Anyone can have a go, and even in the very early stages you can have amazing moments, so don't be afraid to take a course!
Just how , can this be learned? Is it a trick ? Maybe a talent ?? Or maybe somthing else
gormlaith yes this can be learned. There are some tricks but in the end its just training. Just search up freediving training in Google and you will find alot answers
Yes, freediving is a skill that can be learned -turns out humans are pretty good underwater!
it can be learned - I learned, too! To be all relaxed and enjoy the magic of this space takes a little while but anyone can learn it.
1:35 here comes #SpeechLess #Moment
While watching this video I feel my body Free from My #Soul and #Zero Gravity.
#touchy😘
glad you liked it!
I can’t even swim sadly but this looks so natural and beautiful 🤩
I went there , it looks soooo scary trust me , but also beautiful
Super Beautiful!! Thank You!!
thank you!
So fun!
Thank you -it really was!
Daan Verhoeven I hope one day I would go there to dive haha

Ejujujrrrjj irjuj
@@DaanVerhoeven What camera is this?? How do you deal with the loss of reds! Your colors are so consistant!
This is so calming and sureal, lovely
thank you! It's a stunning place.
If I had your lungs life would be so much easier. God Bless.
well my lungs are in fact 25% too small for me - so in truth, I'm not at all perfect for this sport! But I just do it anyway and I love it.
Bravo.
@@howardgilmour8464 I dont know but I rekkon that car you drive around everyday of your life probably does a lot more damage to the environment then stepping on a piece of coral every now and then
@@MegaCharns You make assumptions. I don't own a car. My life is pretty sustainable in comparison to others (without a great effort). I use a bike and take the metro.
