This episode always sticks out to me. The victim was raped and had a stalker. She didn't even know. She was a victim in more ways than one. Like Munch said in this episode, "she suffered". We rarely saw Munch get too involved in cases. This was one of those occasions. Their performances made what happened so heartbreaking. Richard Belzer and Jennifer Esposito were so good in this episode.
Sometimes I want to punch a stalker
Now she's back as Fin's fiancée Phoebe!!!
Munch was probably the best character in the series. No other character has been able to fill that role.
@@aparnarajesh don't mean to sound cheesy but with technology, everyone could be a stalker nowadays
he wanted to shoot the guy sticks the gun in his face waiting for an "accidental discharge" anyone who handles a gun knows finger on the trigger means it can go off
"They can test for that!" "Insipid writing?" I love it, so much
..so Munch
1qqq
Agreed
"It doesnt matter if you care" so simple but so important
“I’m wearing a suit”
He delivered that same line to Sarah when she told him to wear a nice suit on her show. Knowing him, it’s the suit he was wearing that night for her show.
Munch didn't blink. Great acting!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love the line, "John...John...I got him." It wasn't an over-the-top takedown like we see too often on stupid cop shows. Stabler didn't like a gun pointed at him any more than the next guy. That's what a real cop would do.
"I hate it."
So telling about how these kinds of cases grind on a detective. Brilliant insight on what makes Munch tick.
That stalker was a great actor, I almost believed that he was like that in real life. Munch too, iconic as usual
Munch is simply the best example of the most lovable character types in a modern crime show! He's like the strong and silent version of Al Pacino's role in Heat
tbh, munch reminds me of Alvin olinsky from Chicago pd...but, Al Pacino's role in Heat is pretty spot on too!
I always felt this was a stand out episode for munch he got close to a survivor Sara which he didn't let himself do often but they had developed a genuine friendship then this freak killed her you know all he wanted to do was tear him apart
Belzer deserved an Emmy for this episode.
Anyone else think the bomber looks like the Penguin.
Well yeah, kinda.
I was about to say!
I'm sorry...but don't disrespect Oswald Cobblepot!
@@juliobrian4757 🤣🤣🤣
Can we all take a moment that STABLER just said hopefully the psych evaluation weeds out someone that extreme.
That fact that Stabler was the calm and collected one this time, breaks my heart to see Munch like that.
This is one of those episodes that hit different. BC munch and the actor that plays him (, Richard Belzer) real bring the emotion almost a if they actually had a bond. Great episode amazing acting, great emotion.🔥🔥🔥
The guy who played the creepy bomb maker also played a pedophile and kidnapper of a young Honduras girl in season 7 episode called "911" and the actor Christopher Evan Welch dies in 2013 from lung cancer he played a creepy villain in both episodes.
He definitely has that type of face.
"911" is one of my favorite episodes.
@@tia4057 that's the one with the little girl Olivia wanted to find so badly, right?
@@GenshinLover283 yes majority of the episode they were on the phone
@@tia4057 The episode got a lot of good reviews.
Munch was so great on this show. What's sad is their are men out there that if they find out early into their relationship that the girl was raped or molested they will bail bc they dont want someone who is " damaged goods " that is what this pyscho was saying. I know the guy is insane but why kill sarah bc she was not the same ? In his sick way was he thinking he was taking her out of her misery ? I remember this was one of my favorites bc it was munch centric. I mean even the raging stabler had to calm munch down. Also this guy as many noted played the pedophile in the famous episode 911 which won mariska her emmy. I remember watching that episode & thinking how the hell us live gonna find her. It Really was a brilliant episode where u were just on the edge of ur seat for the whole episode.
He wanted her to die happy.
I disagree the real reason is that people dont want to deal with a traumatized person and all the issues Abd aftereffects this may cause in the relation. Has nothing to do with "damaged goods".
@@StriKe_jk no, some people don't want to deal with 'damaged goods'.
@@donsmeltzer4083 You sound insensitive, to call a person who was raped, "damaged."
@@JSmedic1 I wasn’t calling such a person damaged goods, I hate the term and think it’s degrading, dehumanizing and gives people permission to treat a victim as less of a person, as if it were their fault. That’s why I put the term in quotes. Some people do, indeed, consider someone who was raped damaged goods. I don’t.
Munch was so underrated. I would have loved to be his partner (if I could even be in the show) I love him so much
Who doesn't want him? His sarcasm and his time at baltimore homicide unit in his resume is thing we want him as partner
It was nice to see Munch become emotional and close to someone . Even if it was a sad episode
Mr. Munch
an east coast overlord
What a badass
munch was one of my fave characters. after jerry orbach's Lennie Briscoe. he was that stern type of sarcastic that made the show sympathetic to watch. after he left and post Orbach's passing. the show really never recovered. we never got any characters that breathed the same greatness of these two afterwards. you just can't make men like them. they just "happen". and you get to experience the happening they exist as.
RIP Munch 🥺
That last scene, in which Munch gets his confession, is excellent. The tension on Munch’s face, the subtle sadness in his eyes, and the murderer just joyful through the entire interview. Wow, just wow.
This bomb maker was such an effective actor. I'm sure he'd make Cletus Kasady proud.
Sadly, he died almost ten years ago. Christopher Evan Welch: Sept. 28, 1965 - Dec. 2, 2013.
@@dddz961 at 48, that’s so young!
Munch isn't to be trifle with.
It's crazy to think how often incendiary devices were used back in the 80's to 90's.
Ikr
i mean it's plausible, the military has been using stuff like white phosphorus since world war 1
Yeah, DIY bombings have really fallen out of style.
@@jackuzi8252 I'd like to think it's because the fbi (or the perception of it) have been monitoring people who look up how to do so, but even then it's not hard to hide your searches anymore
It doesn’t matter if you care.
Oh thank you, thank you, thank you
Want a suit
I’m wearing a suit best thing ever
You could see in Munch’s eyes that he wanted to kill the guy. It was so obvious I don’t know how he couldn’t see it.
He's a narcissist getting attention and getting to talk about the things he wants. . . . . . he lacks empathy or taking other people into account or their feelings and with what is probably some level or anti-social (what many call psychopathy) he is only mimicking other emotions that healthy people have and doesn't even understand what it is to love or care about someone truly. He couldn't understand unless it hit him like one of his explosions.
😂🤣😆😂🤣😆😂🤣😆😂🤣
"What check?"
Money always works wonders even only 450 dollars. No matter how rich or poor you are, money does the trick.
Years ago, I saw that cops had offered up free Yankees tickets to people with warrants. These people thought they had won a contest, but they had to go to an address to pick the tickets up. There were literally 50 of these guys in a room, when it was announced that there were no tickets. A few guys had brought their young kids. The cops were super compassionate about the whole thing, but it just shows what something free will flush out.
A British police service did this a few years back. They said they’d found a load of weed and “if it’s yours come down to the police station to claim it back”. The guy it belonged to went back to get it, the idiot. 🤣
You know, if you are going to show SVU episodes on here, why not go for the "triple threat" and have
"Criminal Intent" as well?
I love watching Goren do his thing
@@irishpogi ~ Criminal Intent is my favorite of the L&O series'. Vincent D'Onofrio is fabulous in his role as Robert Goran...
@@Deborahtunes Goren and Eames were a great combination. Alex was level headed. Rob was eccentric and quirky. Alex did a great job and balancing Rob out.
@@irishpogi ~ 👍It was Robert's "quirkiness" I liked. But yes, Alex balanced it out. Those two were like Ying and Yang together...
@@Deborahtunes you guys are so right, CI was such a good show!
After this he learned how to code and turn his anger towards Gavin Belson.
This guy is a super good actor!
3:43 - “You don’t get the Nietzschean Superman everyday”. Funny, coming from the ubermensch himself. Did Belzer ever win an award for his role as Munch?
My all time favorite show ❤️🥰
RIP Richard Belzer. His John Munch was the soul of this show and Homicide: Life on the Street.
RIP Peter Gregory.
This was one of those episodes that haunted me for days
Isn’t that the same guy who played Richard in season 7 “911”?
I think so
I think you're right
Yes that him
@@anastasiaisabella7354 Also Peter Gregory in Silicon Valley
The dude reminds me of nevel from icarly
Hahah. I said the same thing! Only iCarly fans like ourselves would know this. Lol.
I love Detective Munch.
I love law and order
They would never let someone this personally involved interrogate the suspect, no matter what the excuse was ("We need a confession"). This is a time bomb waiting to blow and then no more case.
Yes, but it's brilliant TV.
I always loved Munch, him and Olivia were probs my fave characters throughout all of SVU.
Omg, I didn’t know the bad guy from the iconic 911 episode made an earlier appearance! 😳 😳
Luckily he received a lot of therapy and become a successful businessman in Silicon Valley.
Can you upload the court scene where john munch ask the judge who's pocket are you in please.
“Y’all want suits?”
“I’m wearing a suit”
God damnit munch I love you
Looks like an American David Mitchell.
LOL, he *does!* Like a cousin, or a brother separated at birth or something.
This actor passed away
Yeah Christopher Evan Welch. He died of lung cancer in 2013.
On the cusp of being known for roles outside of the L&O franchise. He was a first season regular on HBO's Silicon Valley when he passed. 🙁
I prefer when he was rain-maning about sesame seeds and cicadas to being a killer. Rip, lung cancer sucks
Now who wants some Burger, King?
Which episode is this I can't remember
That bomber is so fucking creepy .____.
didn't see them get a warrant. And no lawyer in the interrogation room? Hmmmmmm
does Cragen walk around strapped too?? Just random thought bc I don't think I've ever seen him pull out a gun. It's always one of the detectives
I think it's one of those be a role model (I wear my gun, wear yours) plus it's also safety reasons but you're right why have one if you don't use it?
Peter Gregory!
RIP Munch
Dude is just the Joker
They won’t make a case still
Munch wanted to *END* this guy...
Peter Gregory before he ran away to Silicon Valley
is this guy the riddler now?
This was such a sad episode.
That guy played the villain 3 times in a L&O episode
He played a villain in the show Elementary too.
Christopher Evan Welch 4 years before in 2004 will be in the best episode of SVU as Richard Dwyer in Season 6 Episode 3 (911) in 2004 and Jennifer Esposito will be the Wife of John Munch best parnent Fin Tutuola
Peter Gregory?
So if you fail the firefighters exam in NY you get SWATted?!
Lol I went to Queens College lol
The psych test he says it's hard to believe they still do that the way the normal police act now
Didn’t this guy play in a different episode! The 911 episode? Where Olivia was on the phone with a little Latina girl who was trapped in a basement..
sesame seeds
They love reusing the cast. He was in the 911 episode with the little girl Olivia kept on the phone.
Why did he spray urine on that card?
Damaged goods - damaged beyond redemption.
You’re talking about the creep right
