      Yeah that was a huge red flag cus any analytical hockey follower will know you'll almost never have a PP% higher than 40-50ish, which would already be insane over a large span of games. In one series? For sure cus they were at 100% against LAK, but that's just 5 games.
      If he really followed the WCF series, he'd know the Dallas PK was just as insanely good for Games 1-4. Flood gates didn't open til games 5 and 6 but it was only 2 PPG/game IIRC. Nothing crazy like the Bolts or Caps putting in 4-6 a game back in the day. Dallas PK was still really good but McJesus just raised it to another level.
      Makes me wonder how deeply he analyzes or if like 96% of the content is from book and other sources, cus it's hard to think a flub like that is an honest mixup. Also his response seems kinda defensive...but either he and team make good vids so still respect for that.
      For like a whole week of coverage, they kept talking about how someone has finally shutdown EDM PP, idk how you'd miss that for 4 games straight lol

      I would say it was a little bit of both. I'm sure we've all been hurt before. Maybe not to that level, but enough. I know from playing and working hurt myself, the more often I can go the less it bothers me. Makes it easier to fight through the pain. But sitting for a long weekend, or having extended time off just made that pain set in a lot more and made it a lot tougher to deal with and push through. I'm willing to bet that played a big part in it last year also. Plus Tkachuk getting his sternum broken was like the final blow of sorts. He doesn't have that injury, he buries that shot to tie game 4, and who knows what happens in OT. And obviously, if they pull a win there, who knows what happens with a 2-2 series.

      @LRon-Hoyabembe Yep, and would also be nice to see Forsling with the cup. That's why I said I'm not hugely against either team winning. Just the nepotism of the Campbells, which no one seems to talk about, kinda rubs me the wrong way.

    I'll be curious to see if Florida has twice as many PPs as the Oilers. It's going to come down to discipline with these two teams.

    The X-Factor has to be the Panthers' 3rd line. On paper it has a massive advantage over Edmonton's 3rd line.
    Also, let it be known that while the Oilers' PK has been insane, Panthers PK is not far off while facing significantly better Power Plays (Tampa and New York were 1st and 3rd respectively)

    I have become an oliers fan over the course of the playoffs.
    I will be very happy when Mcdavid finally raises the cup. Nevertheless, Panthers look like a more competent team, and they fully deserved in the finals.
    Good luck to both teams and let this be a for show

    Florida hasnt faced an offensive team like Edm yet, and they are prone to penalties because of their physical play. Edm has advantage at 5v5 play as well. Edm winning this series.

    I think the main difference between Rangers and Oilers is the fact that the top players on the oilers have actually shown up these playoffs

    • @connorbrechbill6516
      @connorbrechbill6516 8 месяцев назад +8

      The Rangers top players were putting up numbers until they faced Florida too. Zibenajad, Panarin and Trocheck were among the postseason leaders until the ECF.
      In addition to that, the Rangers also had fantastic special teams coming into the ECF and the Panthers made them look pedestrian there as well.
      Gotta give credit to the Panthers defensive structure. They make it incredibly difficult to get anything established and can shut down opposing teams best players. There’s a reason they’re in the finals.

    Oilers just playing the under dog with the best players in the league and it’s hilarious. We beat the team that was projected to win it all in 6 games and whose team beat both cup champs back to back and still get no respect. It could go either way, oilers in 7

    • @connorbrechbill6516
      @connorbrechbill6516 8 месяцев назад +5

      Panthers aren’t getting much respect either. Seeing a lot of comments from Oilers fans saying that this will be an easy series for them and that the Panthers won’t be able to hang with them at all.
      Both teams are excellent. McDavid and Draisaitl are monsters and the Oilers have great offensive depth and great special teams. The Panthers are an incredibly deep team as well and loaded with excellent two way forwards. It’s going to be a war.

      I agree with both of ya’ll. I have been an oilers fan for 26 years(since I was 2). I have oilers in 6, but it will be a brutal war as both teams have chips on their shoulders from previous playoffs. X-factor’s will be Kane getting in tkachuks head and skinner maintaining his play

    Hey, can I ask if Jack Han has any relation to this channel? I like to read some of his Hockey Tactics articles when I come across them, and yesterday he broke down how either team can expose the other one, and I noticed a lot of similarities between this video and his article “2024 Stanley Cup Final Preview (2)” including a word for word passage on what makes Forsling an effective defender. Definitely not accusing anything, for all I know, you are Jack 😂 just curious on what that dynamic is.

    I think one of the biggest X factors in this series is the Draisaitl line, assuming he is separated from Mcdavid. If Mcdavid is matched up against the Forsling Ekblad pair then I think Draisaitl’s line needs to FEAST. Montour/Mikkola is a good pair but if you wanna win a Cup you gotta win that matchup.
