@@coreysghostglowmask8650 Yes, there are also too many inconsistent players on this team that are not trustworthy, I agree. And absolutely Skinner is inconsistent but not all of the blame falls solely on him with every goal. On the second goal he was screened/vision blocked by McLeod who usually does more harm than good to his team with very poor decision making. Either block the shot or don't screen your own goalie, the guy is softer than a wet noodle and is scared to touch anything. If there's a mistake, #71 is usually visible on the ice, and sadly Bouchard did not help Skinner at all during that game. Again, too many inconsistent players on this team who decide to show up or don't depending on the night. Lack of trust between teammates will weaken their game, FL alone edges them out on this aspect.

Edmonton having no depth has been their absolute kryptonite for aeons now. The fact they sent out Cody Ceci and Darnell Nurse on a pair says it all, those dudes have been pylons these playoffs. Connor, Leon, Nuge, and Bouchard all have more points than any one given Panther, but if those guys arent scoring Edmonton flatout loses.
Knoblock just doesn't have the experience. We've all seen it, sending out winded players, pulling the goalie. That little dance with Skinner should I stay or should I go? Just doesn't have the timing down. But, he's a good coach. He's gonna improve, it's nice to see new blood behind the bench.
Great analysis, and it shows how often the Oilers have defensive breakdowns, which is something I've long said about the team. Oiler management seems to think they can have the one of the best offences in the league, but team defence is secondary. Due to no trade clauses, it's very difficult for them to trade for the shutdown d-men and defensive forwards the team desperately needs, they should be trying to draft them. Instead, management continues using 90% of their picks on forwards, obviously forgetting the old adage that defence wins championships.
As a fellow Avs fan, I am also cheering for the Panthers and I live in Edmonton. I love watching all the oilers fans cry. I noticed this morning going to work that there was a 90% reduction in oilers flags on cars. Kind of sad because it helps me spot shitty drivers

Draisaitl claims it was not intentional, but the guy leaves his feet, and throws the elbow. Knowing how that can hurt a player, either you are careless, or have intent. Have to wonder if the League reacts, or if this is now allowed in the Finals.
I'm afraid there arent any heads for the Panthers to find. The Oilers seem to be playing with their heads up their asses. Panthers will just focus on ripping the cup out of their hands.
I'll say up front that I'm an Oilers fan. But Florida really brought their game. They deserved the win. The frustration I have is the refs calling really soft penalties on both sides and then not calling really obvious ones. Draisaitl's hit was just nasty, but they weren't even going to call the obvious charge (he left his feet), until they saw Barkov down. btw, there was a similar charge from Florida that didn't get called, but there was no injury, so I guess charging is allowed as long as there's no harm done. I don't feel like the calls have been one-sided, just inconsistent. It makes it hard for the players to know how to play.

I mean, after game 2, I am pretty unbiased I think. EDM fans at the moment are clouded by anger that their team is down 2-0 so they attack panthers fans for "knowing nothing about hockey". They can't stand the fact that their golden boys, but mainly McDavid, has played 9 years now and hasn't got a single chip. As someone who was at all 3 of the Blackhawks' cups, let me explain that in the same 9 years span, Patrick Kane won 3 cups (from being drafted to the end of the 9 year stretch). Does this mean Kane is better than McDavid? Not at all. It means the Oilers are the most overrated team in modern NHL history and are not built to win cups clearly. They got away with some criminal series wins against better teams (Dallas) to even get to the cup. On the other hand, the panthers are a clearly playoff built team, and the Rangers were massive favorites entering the playoffs, but the Panthers put the beating on them enough to win the series. Something to note is that the big players of the Rangers didn't show up, and everyone was mystified. Suddenly the best duo in hockey in McDavid and Leon don't show up and people are still mystified. The panthers are built around countering star power. How did the oilers choose to respond to this in game 2? They played the dirtiest game of hockey I've seen in recent playoffs, and easily this season. The EDM fans then complain that FLA are a bunch of pro basketball players that take flops for penalties, even though EDM has had favorable calls in the past 2 games. The panthers played well last night compared to game 1, and it showed, even through that dirty hockey. Contrary to what the EDM fans will say, the Panthers are clearly the physically tougher team, as other than Barkov, the players who got hit hard and left the game actually returned to play. For game 3, I'd imagine the bad blood will continue to run over, especially if Barkov ends up hurt. Player safety has already reviewed the Draisaitl hit and determined no fine or suspension will be assessed. In fact the slash on Kulikov is the only fined play from game 2. In summary, and I remain unbiased, based on the hockey I watched from EDM in game 2, an Oiler could literally be beheaded and I would have no sympathy because they are bringing it on themselves with a lack of competitive integrity that is actually rare to see. I don't know how you can defend the behavior of what went on in game 2, but clearly if you think only the Panthers players deserve to get hurt while the Oilers just go unpunished, then it's time someone gets taken out HARD on the oilers so you can cry more.
If Barkov misses next game, and Drai gets away with it without suspension, I'm pretty sure Panthers will play the reverse card on him or on McD on the field
As an Oiler’s fan and someone who lived for many years in Edmonton and has been lucky enough to meet a couple of them, I was super disappointed in how the boys ended game 2. Game 1, they played pretty well honestly. The panthers were the aggressive ones making hits and playing kind of dirty in that one, but by the end of 2nd and the 3rd period of Game 2, Oilers were just losing all control of themselves and the game. And my guy Leon made an absolute fool of himself with that hit to Barkov. A full elbow straight to the head for no reason? Come on man. I really want them to win but it’s a tall order at this point. They gotta do something wildly different to handle Bobrovsky, and not make dumb mistakes like clumping together in defence and passing right in front of the net. I love them though, and if you’ve never lived in a hockey town like Edmonton, let me tell you, there’s a reason our fans go so hard! It’s a religion there. People live and breathe for each season, and the Oilers making it this far is amazing for ol E-town ❤❤
By attacking Barkov they now have to realize they just gave the Panthers a reason to absolutely destroy McDavid😂 ur gonna get what u ask for, im hoping nothing serious gonna happen to him
Half of Florida’s defense are new to the team this season and they’re all healthy this go around… not the same at all as last year. They definitely learned from last year’s run and it shows from their signings, depth, and play.
This dude really said, Draisaitl “took a healthy run at Barkov” 😂😂😂 Dude left his feet and elbowed Barkov in the face, eliminating him from the game. And why did he do it? Because he knows he can’t score against Barkov. What a trash can organization Edmonton is. Go Panthers.
This oilers team is the biggest hype job. Two god tier players, AHL level goaltending , a swiss cheese defence and non existent depth. It’s a testament to how garbage the west is that these guys got this far
well dallas, colorado, and vegas are all great, but one of those teams eliminated the other two and edmonton beat dallas with only power plays, so I'd say the majority of it was luck, and some of it was that the west isn't as good.

yeah thats what i was thinking, Floridas coach has way more experience and tactically now Florida has been better and we see Edmontom struggling in major key moments/missing cup winning players=resulting in the coach depening too much on the star players also struggle in defensive plays, that hit on Barkov and also other low hits is just pure frustration, thats when Florida made the right decision to stay calm...because Draisaitls only intention was to mess up their tactical game by injuring Barkov, but Florida and their coach keeped it cool. Next match will be interesting, also depending wether Barkov plays or not
I love how oilers fans are claiming florida is dirty, yet fogel tries to go knee on knee, draisaitl elbows to the head after leaving his feet, and that other oiler literally brought his stick up where the sun dont shine, all three are suspension worthy and should be acted on. 😂
Bennet laid a knee worse than Fogel but Bouchard didn't lay on the ice so....What about Ekblad's choke hold on Bouch also? I guess half the roster should be suspended eh?
@@paulg6274Bennett skated straight at him and kept his knees under himself. Foegle missed his hit and extended his knee outwards. Not even close to being the same. @@paulg6274btw those plays are as bad as getting hit from behind cause they easily can dislocate or hyperextend your leg especially from the angle he came from U didn’t see the other hit but let’s be honest both teams are playing dirty some more in times and some more in different times let’s just all accept that
Fogel actually played the puck (both players were playing it with their skates) and it wasn't actually knee on knee. Bennet's was a late hit. The nutshot was a retaliation for an uncalled Charge (about the same as Drai's hit on Barkov later). Bouchard taps a player in the corner (covered by 3 defenders) and gets called for a slash, but a stick in McD's hands on a breakaway goes uncalled. The officiating was definitely skewed.
I watch the ABC feed to avoid all the Oiler bias... City TV also carries ABC. Messier and PK Subban are on the panel. This game really showed the lack of Oiler depth that they were able to overcome in the first 3 series.
Fucking loved every minute of this game. I hope we get a full fledged, no glove, beatdown in game 3. Put an enforcer in there for Florida and just demoralize the Oilers. I just want mcdavid to pop off in one game, and no I don’t mean passes and assists but actual goals. At the moment Florida is shutting them down so hard and doing a great job to not open up any opportunities.
Dallas was a team I thought would beat Edmonton by playing just like this. You have to win 4 not 2. The Panthers still have to keep this level of play up or else the series could swing in a hurry.
Florida definitely looks like the team that's been here before. I may be cheering more for Florida, but I do hope Edmonton learns from these first 2 games and manages to push the series to 6 or 7. I just want more hockey and a competitive Final.
As an Oilers fan I would love to see them turn this series around. But after watching the Panthers dominate them in Game 2 and Bobrovsky rob them in game 1, I don't see how they are going to do it. Kane is so injured he can't even sit down on the bench. Perry can't keep up to the play. McDavid doesn't have the space to move. Skinner is playing his best but he's no Bobrovsky. Unless the Oilers coaching staff have a magic solution, I think the Oilers are done. But who knows, at the start of the season we didn't think they'd even make the Playoffs and then they went on a 16 game run. The thing about the Oilers is, they have the amazing ability to do the unexpected.
I wanted Vancouver or Dallas in the finals. Would have made a better Final, so that pisses me off. And then there's Leon, the pissy man himself. He really pissed me off, but the fact he only got 2 minutes for that chicken wing pisses me off even more. Wouldn't be the Stanley Cup Playoffs with out suspect officiating however. Unless the Oilers take the next two games (they have to, a split will not work) and solve Officer Bob, they are cooked, done, finished!. The only ray of light for McJesus fanboys (or is that fanbois) would be is that the Great 99, Crosby (and others) didn't win it their first time (unless your name is God/Brady of course). As much depth as the Panthers have, Barkov is so vital to the team. He’s been able to turn the opposing team’s superstars intro traffic cones. Made Panrarin & Zibanekad almost invisible last series against the Rangers, no points of McDavid or Drai
PS: Drai should get a game for the flying elbow, specially if Barkov’s out for game 3
I was waiting for your analysis of THIS game. What a show.
The Panthers bought into Paul Maurice's system...play sound defense and the offense will be there. The Panthers are like a 5-Man Defensive unit with more than capable offensive skills. It's incredible to watch
If Barkov is out, Draisaitl needs to get suspension. Doesnt matter how big of a star you are, flying elbow is only for Trouba

If Barkov is out, field Lomberg as a kamikaze and hospitalize McDickless. Then Bennett can sort out Dicksicle and get away with it.

Oilers fans have always been like this
oiler fans have some reason to be that way, they played better in game 1 and still lost, not to mention canadien teams are never favoured over american in the playoffs. anyone could’ve saw it coming, i don’t think anyone would mind seeing florida get their first cup but to act like they aren’t just as dirty shows the lack of respect for a canadian team as usual

@@coreysghostglowmask8650 yes its hard to watch McDavid give it his all and the team miles away both physically and mentally behind him.

When you can’t tell the difference between “your” and “you’re”, you should get off of RUclips and go back to school.

Avs fan, I was screaming for the E rod hat trick
As a fellow Avs fan, I am also cheering for the Panthers and I live in Edmonton. I love watching all the oilers fans cry. I noticed this morning going to work that there was a 90% reduction in oilers flags on cars. Kind of sad because it helps me spot shitty drivers

The NHL is practically tripping over themselves trying to get McJesus a cup, no way they suspend Drai for the next game. He better keep that head on a swivel cause I'm sure Florida is going to be hunting for him.
Draisaitl claims it was not intentional, but the guy leaves his feet, and throws the elbow. Knowing how that can hurt a player, either you are careless, or have intent. Have to wonder if the League reacts, or if this is now allowed in the Finals.
Well Florida start taking heads with you. The NHL just set the standard on head shots in this series.

This was probably your best breakdown of a game this playoffs IMO
I couldn't agree with you more. Edmonton has shown to be an incredablily dirty team. At times I thought I was watching Boston.

@@paulg6274btw those plays are as bad as getting hit from behind cause they easily can dislocate or hyperextend your leg especially from the angle he came from
U didn’t see the other hit but let’s be honest both teams are playing dirty some more in times and some more in different times let’s just all accept that
Fogel actually played the puck (both players were playing it with their skates) and it wasn't actually knee on knee.
