lol it's kinda cool though. They had no idea what was about to happen and they got really lucky inheriting Noble 6 when they did. My SO compared this to Rogue One and I’m only now realizing how accurate that is. From the tonal difference Reach has with the rest of the franchise to the shot of the Pillar of Autumn flying off at the end of the game, Rogue One really was the Reach of the Star Wars franchise.
It's just like The Lorax: the planet is trashed, the protagonist is dead from the start, and the story is a foregone conclusion, with only a single marker to indicate the passing of the main character.
I'm so excited to play this game on PC. Something that always bugged me on 360 was just the brutal stuttering in cut scenes and I can't wait to see this campaign be buttery smooth!
@StreamerGeo I'm sure someone will make a ray tracing mod. The textures are getting an update though so that they'll be a little bit higher resolution.

This looks awesome, like a fresh 2019 game release, and it brings back so much nostalgia! However, the cuts feel jarring to me, like there's an extra frame in between each shot. I don't remember that in the original. Maybe it's a technical issue that arose from upping the frame rate of the cutscene?

@HARBINGER Yeah it did, and most console games use motion blur to reduce the glaring issues caused by low frames per second - generally around the 30fps mark and lower. However the Reach ghosting/blur issue was specifically caused by Bungie's use of Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA). It was generally a good idea, but it's implementation at such low frames per second caused the serious ghosting issues - more specifically seen when Jorge moves in this cutscene on the X360 version. But yes, luckily everything on the PC is tweakable and will not suffer from these same Xbox 360 low fps/TAA issues.

I don't care what other people say, Halo Reach was/is the best Halo released thus far. It's atmosphere, military jargon and chatter, story/setting were expertly done. Yeah, there was some retconning of story elements from The Fall of Reach novel that sucked, but most of that has been somewhat cleared up. Also, by far the best soundtrack in the franchise, followed closely by ODST. Can't wait to start playing this again for the 50th time on December 3rd!
