We did this trip from turgutreis to kos just the other day. It took longer to get thru passport control on arrival at Kos than the ferry across did. And the return trip, the harbour was absolute bedlam, never again😅
Hi, sorry you had a bad experience on the ferry. We must have been lucky, went in June on the hydrofoil, it takes about 20 mins. 30 euros. I think the arrival times are staggered so we didn’t wait too long in passport control. August is so much busier!!

Passport control on the Greek side was a nightmare when we went.
I did Kos to Bodrum return on the ferry maybe 15 years ago and that Greek customs hut looks exactly the same now as it was then!
(edited) 50 years since invasion of Cyprus, Greeks never going to make it that easy to gain entry again from Turkey
50 years David and it was very bad with people declared missing.😢
