At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

The Firuze storyline was so confusing. In the beginning she was implied to be some kind of seer / healer and she had visions and prophetic dreams, it seems? But then in the end there was nothing mystical about her anymore and she turned out to be a regular spy. I wonder if maybe the writers had a different plotline in mind for her in the beginning and then they changed their minds afterwards?

Actually if you watch the episode when shes put in the harem for the first time we see her hiding a little vial/bottle under her bedsheets. I think it was a little hint for the audience - my theory is that it was the substance with which she was poisoning the sultan with for years. Obviously she could be some sort of a talented priestess captured by Persian dynasty And forced on a mission but then her tattoo of Safavid dynasty symbol doesnt rly make sense 😭

I am not well versed in Islam. But isn't adultery massively frowned upon. Sultan had so many women because he wasn't married. Once he married hurrem nobody should be shocked that he was loyal to her. In fact wouldn't that have held him up as a good Moslem. Yet his family is constantly pushing other women at him in defiance of Islamic law. Plus where is firuzes tattoo? Her hair is braided and you can clearly see the back of her neck

Well,if those women are his servant/he provides for them, that's not adultery as per old traditions. But if you once free them or someone else have them ...then that's adultery . As there is no more servants in today's generation,a man can't have relationship like this
