istg if Isabella of Castile lived to hear about Henry divorcing her daughter, she would have absolutely DESTROYED him and England!

I'm impressed with Catherine of Aragon. Imagine what it was like to live with something that promised to humiliate her publicly.

Oh my gosh the Morgan Library is half a mile away from me. I guess Katherine's prayer book isn't there now but I can imagine other 16th century rare books might be. Going there tomorrow!

The old world lived on in the new world. Isabella's relatives moved to the new world and married Aztec royalty. Some of the Moctezuma descendants ended up in Spain. Puerto Rico was a bastion of conquistadors. The red castle alambra was where Columbus took some natives with him.

Catherine of Aragon is an uncannonized saint and faithful woman in every way. Anne Boleyn is responsible for so much evil and sin that is still reverberating today, sadly. I would not want to be in her shoes on the day of judgement. These women were not “united” in any way- Anne wanted her and daughter killed and caused them both untold abuse and suffering. What feminist nonsense that they were kindred spirits in some way.

I think they were friends at first. I think Anne should have asked Catherine for help. Anne was convinced she was chosen. I am not sure why. Anne suffered greatly at her end. I pity her.

    • @erin6083

@@wednesdayschild3627 Ann caused suffering to others, any suffering she endured was primarily self inflicted. And yes, Anne was once a lady in waiting to the true Queen. And yes, she was “chosen”- by Satan himself to try to destroy the true church and separate Christians from each other, not to mention all the persecution endured because of her.
