    Great flying Brian! I really enjoy watching your videos. I stopped flying about 10 years ago. Since I have been watching your videos these last couple months I am slowly getting back into rc planes. You have great energy and an awesome spot to fly. Keep on keeping on. I look for new videos that I haven’t seen from your channel daily.

    This is one of those planes that shift their CG slightly when you retract the gears. So yes a little more noseweight definitely helps when the gears are up. Now when the gears are down, it will feel slightly noseheavy but nothing unmanageable on approach. I have this plane and it’s definitely a fun eye opener 👀

    I had a jet called the PHASE3 EF16 which is just a quick cheap jet that you put your own motor servos in to fly and I built it and set the elevons according to what the manual said and the CG to what the manual said but even with the battery slid back as far as I could get it, it was VERY nose heavy to the point I had to literally hold a bunch of up just to keep it from crashing so I put the battery where it was supposed to be according to the CG setup and I adjusted the elevons to give it more "up" and now it flies like it's on rails!! Really fun jet after I got it sorted out. Not sure if that was the right thing that do but it worked out great!! BTW, great flight and video , as usual. Thanks!!

    • @MrDLRu
      @MrDLRu 2 года назад

      The thing I find ridiculous is, the manufacturer does much testing in developing these models, yet can't get the CG spot on...No excuses in my opinion. They should even have the gram weight of the battery they used for their CG location. Really good flyer at the park I go to, and he will add weight to tail section if need be. He will glue wheel weights to outside of fuselage if it comes to that. Ideally, your trims should be as close as possible to zero trim after manual adjustment.

    I had one but didn't like it and there are other better warbirds to go for. The 800mm warbirds from FMS is a sweet choice but the larger 1.2m from E-Flite fly much better. To me at least the wing loading on this 980mm P-40B is to high. Hopefully E-Flite will bring the P-39 back as it looks kinda similar and fly fantastic. Better yet are the Corsair and P-51D!

    Is there a reason why the elevator points down in auto level shouldn't it point up to help gain altitude ND if u level it out with trim soon as u switch to stabilizer mode u got to trim the crap out of it again the only thing I can think of is that it points down to help get the back wheel off the ground for take offs but as soon as ur in the air it wants too nose dive in the ground makes no sense it pointing down to me

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Год назад +1

      This has to do with how the REFLEX is supposed to mount, and sometimes they get mounted somewhat "off".
      Most tail draggers need to be held LEVEL to see a level elevator in "auto-leveling" mode. This plane should be no exception. Trim is applied to all modes on REFLEX, which is why I consider it to be somewhat basic, compared to Spektrum's offering of SAFE and AS3X. Both are GREAT options, but the Reflex V2 is just not quite as sophisticated. The good news, you'll likely get it worked out with some fiddling around, but if you don't and have to tear out the Reflex V2, you can plop in an AR630 and get her really dialed in, up to and including making trims attached to each flight mode.

    i both have the fms p-47 and the p-40 both 980mm. and off the two the p40 is really unstable, and i was one of the poor souls that have one without the gyro stabilizer. so it makes sense that they upgraded it with a gyro. I just wish there are more scale planes with retracts at 980mm size.2

    If you run into trouble with a stall ND the reflex is in auto level would it give you more trouble recovering it mainly the elevator control not going level cuz its nose diving nd the reflex is trying to do to much nd im thinking making it worse to recover would my best chance to recover get it out of auto level quickly

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Год назад +1

      If you're flying enough "mistakes high", then all you'd need to do is, add power, and the plane with aid of Auto-Leveling will get flying again.
      That being said, there ARE some conditions where auto-leveling could potentially exacerbate a stall, but it would be unusual.
      Most of the time, people get "bit" by Auto-leveling, by the associated "limited pitch and bank angles" where you're not allowed to move out of the way of an obstacle, like a tree for example.
