Very informative. I have this plane still in the box. It’s my next build. I’m sure I will have to refer to this video when the time comes.Thank you and the camera crew.

Hi Brian, Great videos on the Sabre - I think I'm going to order one.
A suggestion: Try setting up telemetry Volts on the button on your TX. Press the button and you get a readout of the voltage. As long as the throttle is at

I have the Tactic 650 transmitter.. Its a great radio. You can choose wing type. Air brake set up is quite easy.

I have an NX8 transmitter. I would like to buy this plane eventually and add it to the collection. I want to utilize the Reflex feature and assume that is like SAFE that I am used to on my other plane? I should probably go with the receiver you used in this video but anything else I need to know? I definitely want to have the stabilization. Thanks!

@@BrianPhillipsRCthanks sooooo much. Wow thanks for taking the time to write all that. I now see the bigger picture and see where these features originate. I missed the beginning of the video where you actually explained all of that very well! 🤣

I went to the only local club to get some information, and the old guys were so stand offish, and downright rude when I wanted to know how to join, I won't ever go back. There are plenty of spots near my house I can learn on my own without putting up with their attitudes

@@anthonypeters6055 it's really sad that there are clubs treating people so poorly the only way to grow is new members. I will definitely checkout those videos, I know of another club but it's 3hrs north of me, but I don't mind driving up there if it's worth it

I have run across those kinds of old timers that get hot for just asking a simple question , I think they don't want more people at the field cause it may bother them when they're flying.
But I've been lucky so far I moved to a different town about 300miles away and I found another field that has a grass strip , a nylon type covered strip a lot of edf guys use and there is a large pond for aquatic planes.
The guys there make you feel welcome. 😊
So just look for another field if you have options . good luck😊

I just watched this video for like the third time these last couple of days and once again today😅 even though I know how to build a plane lol it just feels like I’m setting up a plane with a friend here with me. Elevator came reversed, ailerons were not working so I switched the aileron plugs on the extender thing on the wing and fixed it

If someone were to use an As3x unit they would then not need the v2 Reflex, correct? Also, thanks for explaining the numbers used to classify the prop, always wondered how to select proper pitch. Correct me if I'm wrong but the there should be 3 guns on each wing, not 2. Wish i could send you a pic of my 1600 mm P-40 balsa. As far as connectors go the majority of my planes i use the xt-60 .i don't try to afford the smart batteries or chargers but i have been able to connect the smart batteries to my xt-60, and fire my smaller planes they have the xt-30 for more than 2 years now I'm convinced that for the price and durability I've only used batteries from China hobby Line. The other thing I love with these is that they have several different lines of battery and you can select the amount of discharge you want. They also have a US warehouse so shipping is fast. Lastly, kudos to your camera person.

If someone were to use an As3x unit they would then not need the v2 Reflex, correct? - Yes, Pick one or the other, as BOTH would be a waste of your hard earned money. Some people won't even want EITHER...which to me, is crazy - I LOVE STABILIZATION!!! ;)
I'll look into the Chines batteries. We've used all sorts of brands of batteries over the years, but have been very happy with SMART except in the highest draw applications, like BIGGER / TWIN EDF's - to be honest, SMART auto-discharge has been a life saver for us!

6:15 @BrianPhillipsRC, Kv does NOT stand for "thousand RPM per volt" OR kilo-volt, that's a pervasive myth. It actually stands for "Konstant Velocity", and is literally just the no-load RPM of the motor per volt applied. Your explanation in this video could lead people to think that the motor would spin at 770,000RPM/volt, which is physically impossible. It will only run at 770 RPM/volt. I wholly agree that Kv is an asinine abbreviation.

Can I use the AR631 Receiver

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Год назад +1

You sure can, but if this one comes with a REFLEX, then you might save a buck and go with the AR620...unless you want to use AS3X & SAFE rather than REFLEX for stabilization and auto-leveling (if you need them)
      Without AS3X/SAFE...
