@@MarkNOTW ... Some people don't understand that Manu can do 20 5 5 almost everynight if he wants to. But as a great player, he understood his role. He knows that Spurs will always be Duncan's team after Robinson's departure. #greatness
My favorite NBA player..He was so entertaining to watch, amazing competitor, humble. I always thought he was underrated because he came of the bench. Ginobili on any other team would've averaged 20 + ppg easily and more all star appearances, but he sacrificed coming off the bench for the good of the team. Not many players with that talent would accept that role. Hall of famer for sure!!
Manu Ginobli is the most underrated, under appreciated, under used and under paid player by far in the NBA history, probably in the entire professional sports history. A proven winner at every stage, a big game performer, a clutch time star and an ultimate team player, he is the all time best shooting guide right next to MJ. In his prime, he was the best player in the world, evidenced by the fact that he led Argentine beat so called dream teams twice. Everyone says Tim Duncan was Spurs' best player. However, Don't forget Duncan was beaten by Ginobili in the only game they faced each other and Duncan supposedly had a much better team. Tim Duncan's legacy was tarnished to some extend by the defeat in 04 Olympics, in my opinion. In fact, Ginobili is at least as crucial as TD for Spurs in their past 10+ years' run. Pope knew this very well. This is why he always put the ball in Manu's hands in the final play when a game is on the line. Ginobili is a prime example that international talents from small market countries got surpressed by NBA. Teams need their talents to win games, but also need US players to promote games. This is understandable. At the end, NBA is a business, a big business. The bottom line is important for everyone involved, including Ginobili himself. This is why he has accepted his role. He fully understands that if the system was not running in this way, he had no chance to collect the hefty paycheck worth morn than $100 millions in his career (still vastly under paid) and everyone else's pay could also be cut sizably This is why Tony Parker, a much less talented player has been promoted more because he represents France and to a large extent, the whole Europe. This is also why Kobe Kryant is so much hyped and grossly overrated. Finally, I believe international game is a fairer testing ground for a player. Professional games are managed by the business organization. They are more or less influenced by money in a direct or indirect way. International games are purely for glory. This is not only for NBA, but also for other major sports such as soccer. This is why World Cup is considered as the most important games in the world
As a manu fan, i am amazed on after he receives flagrant fouls, here and there, he just wont fight back or argue, but on the nxt plays again, he would casually attack the defense of his opponents again, you cant scare him. He wont react to such intentional fouls because he might get thrown out and could not help his team to win anymore, such an intelligent player.
The greatest overall 2 guard outside Jordan and Kobe. I mean this guy could shoot outside like Jerry west. Could dunk savagely on you like Wade. Could pass like Bird and Magic. Could defend like Bruce Bowen and then he was as cold blooded clutch in the biggest games like Jordan and Kobe. I mean on any other team he would be a starter but that is his greatest quality winning really was number one so he played a sixth man and took pay cuts galore. I'm a french fan of ginobili and the spurs' team. It is a real heartbreaking to see all of them going away (Parker of course, but also Leonard and Ginobili). Definitely the end of an era. But I think they will remain in our heart for having symbolized the ideal team in a team sport : a great coach (thanks to Pop' for having permitted to Parker to play in the French team for great results), a great leader (Duncan is the best power forward who ever played in NBA), and two great partners (Parker and Ginobili) for almost 2 décades. Thanks for all !
Ginobili had the skillset to be a team's primary and a perennial all star but he sacrificed and came off the bench for the spurs. Truly a class act! You will be missed Manu
he is Argentina, he is the leader of the 2004 Olympic gold, he is 4 times NBA champion, he was a big three in the most winning team for almost 20 years, he is hall of fame safer than the ice at the north pole, in 2004 at the pre-Olympic in Argentina with the Argentine winter he entered the cold gym with the Olympic selection and his companions thought that the gym was too cold to train, Manu lifted his hood and started running around the field and after a while all the companions went behind of him, here was born the Olympic gold, this is a hall of famer
agreed, he had the talent to score 20ppg of he wanted to but he sacrificed individual accolades for rings. should've been finals MVP in 05 tbh, he was probably the most dominant player in the whole playoffs

Lakers fan. Going to miss Manu. HALL OF FAMER.
Thank you Manu for all the great years!!! We are going to miss you!! Legend!!
Ginooooo, gracias por todo! Aguante!!! 💙🇦🇷💙🇦🇷💙🇦🇷💙🇦🇷
Ginobilli could be the 4th greatest SG ever behind MJ, Kobe and Dwade.
He is for sure in that table. One of the greatest players ever.
One of the most fun and underrated players of his time... Guy made us so many memories
As a long time Spurs fan, I never wanted to see this day come when the big three were gone. The end of an era, but what a hell of a run it was!
Ginobli is definitely HoF, he brought/popularized the Eurostep.
Ah yes, so God Shammgod should be in the HOF
The so called "eurostep" Is taught since 1966 in the basketball junior categories un Bahía Blanca, homeland of Manu.
Bro. He’s been underrated for years. Don’t deny this man what he deserves. Definitely a hall of famer
Love you Manu- thank you for a Hall of Fame career with my San Antonio Spurs- thank you for all the memories, all the winning, & all the Championships! 😘

Pop, Manu, Tony & Tim.. A Legendary Legacy. They won with intelligence and having a high IQ. They didn't need to be the most athletic or be snipers, they understood how to play the game, how to play their roles and win with class.
No question! Manu's a First Ballad Hall of Famer. He was so unique. 👏💍💍💍💍👍✌
now he’s a hall of famer 👑
The Spurs: The Last Dynasty of Old School Basketball...
We’re all gonna miss them
The real heart of a champ. We are going to miss you Manu.
Started following the spus in 2001 when I was 10, what really got me into the spurs was in 2003 during the finals against the nets and Manu stole the ball and took it coast to coast for a dunk. After that I loved Manu and the spurs
As a laker fan, man, everytime I saw Manu in the game against us, he gave us massive MASSIVE headaches for his defense, scoring, and grit. Having said all that, he was one of the best competitors I've seen. No matter the age, he was STILL consistent.
Great battles Manu! Congratulations! Can't wait for you to be in the Hall of Fame!
Manu isnt European he is Argentinian which is in south america read a book
He played in the European league...
@@JH-fe2ho just because he played in the european league doesnt make him european😂😂😂
They were talking about his style of play not his country of origin.
yean ....read a book, his birthplace and the birth of his professional basketball career are not the same thing....and for manu, that place of his birth of his career is Europe
What book the bible?
Just an absolute legend.
He is not European.. Argentina is in South America.. 🤦🏼♂️
ESPN idiots
@monica666bang just like the rest of south america and yet I've never heard any latin saying i'm european beacuse I descend from them
@monica666bang just like people from US and they are not called europeans. They are ignorant as you are.
@monica666bang Human kind comes from Africa, you calling yourself african?
Max clearly says “I know he’s from Argentina but...”
Did you guys not hear that lol
manu was legend he was most elegant player ever!
No question Manu is a Hall Of Fame player 💯💯💯💯💯
@ the different situation with mono Duty was a winner on every single level he was in Saddam fence he was incredible defensive player clutch more the very most clutch players of all time winner on every level he made other players better I could go on
@ nope that's actually a matter of fact you can deny it till your blue purple and red in the face it's not going to change the fax so it's a fact anybody who knows basketball knows that what I said is true
@ I didn't say anything that wasn't true he is a winner on all levels he did win on every single level, he did he was the most one of the most clutch players of all time there's no doubt about it everybody knows that he was clutch you can leave them open it was dangerous, instant offense, a dangerous on defense, smart, made other players better, play the game Smart in the right way, tough-as-nails a Fearless, One for NBA rings, and definitely second only to Kobe even told me himself and said that second best shooting guard behind him in that area, that's a no-brainer and waynos basketball knows that his overall obviously your little boy and haven't lived long enough to have that experience we lives those experiences you didn't obviously so we can speak on it better
This Mike guy is probably a 12 years old kid who knows jackshit about basketball. The fact that he demolished team USA in the olympics single handedly is enough to make it to HOF.
No doubt
FYI Manu is better then Carmelo Anthony
The Black Guru troll
W
No way😂 Melo got more gold medals
a lot better
I’ll go with manu than just a guy who only shoots and no defense
GINOBILIIIIIIIII *charles Barkley voice*
I'm a french fan of ginobili and the spurs' team. It is a real heartbreaking to see all of them going away (Parker of course, but also Leonard and Ginobili). Definitely the end of an era. But I think they will remain in our heart for having symbolized the ideal team in a team sport : a great coach (thanks to Pop' for having permitted to Parker to play in the French team for great results), a great leader (Duncan is the best power forward who ever played in NBA), and two great partners (Parker and Ginobili) for almost 2 décades. Thanks for all !
TF, they were a job to watch for years. Class, excellence, competitiveness to the core. WITHOUT the fanfare and drama.
They gotta put Manu in the 75th anniversary and they should put Tony Parker too
He's a legend in his own right. What a time for basketball. Thank you Ginobili
Thank you Manu Ginóbili for 16 incredible seasons 🏆🏅true champ
His stats doesn't tell the full story. Compared to Antawn Jamison's 20,000 points, Manu's impact is a billion times larger. Class personified
agreed, he had the talent to score 20ppg of he wanted to but he sacrificed individual accolades for rings. should've been finals MVP in 05 tbh, he was probably the most dominant player in the whole playoffs
+XChronicHash agree. Ginobli was so fun to watch. Especially durng that 05 run. one of my favorite players. Sad that he's retiring.
Antwan Jamison had the sickest floaters though
my favorite Manu moment when he dunked on Chris Bosh , after that moment I knew the Spurs were going to be champions
Parker on a different team and Manu retired this is a sad time to be a Spurs fan losing legends. Manu is definitely going to be in the hall of fame. He changed the game. #legend
manu doesn't need the hall of fame, the hall of fame needs him
If Manu was allowed to go all out, he would have been a Superstar!! that put up ridiculous numbers, he was Luka before Luka
Analytics say it’s only a 20% chance he becomes a HOF... Shows you how useless advanced stats are
is that true? that's fucked up. He's a sure 1st ballot HOF.
Duncan, Manu and Parker are all HOFs.
@@abortionismurderfetalheart2785 Yo name is cancer
If Yao is in the hof then manu for sure will be
My name is the truth.
4x time NBA champ, won Olympics Gold, and also Euroleague champion. Wherever he played he was winning, true champ! One of my all time favorite. I am really gonna miss his game!
He deserves so much credit for his Olympic win. One of the toughest victories in all of basketball.
Respect man hope he does great and hope to see him in the Hall Of Fame
The big 3 Spurs (Duncan, Parker, Ginobli) are HOF's
Parker not a hof
+thatfatguy yes he is.
thatfatguy Parker > Ginobili
Manu...guts,skill off the charts,tenacity..Hall of famer without question..nice segment guys
Top 5 best international players to EVER lace a pair of sneakers...... And if Manu was selfish, he easily could've of went to another team & been the man....... He was sooo over-qualified to be a 6th man but all he cared about was winning
I saw alot of Ginobili living in Austin and when he was on the floor, especially when he was new, it was like the Spurs had 6 players on the court. Opponents couldn't relax...ever! Thanks Manu!
QUE LINDO ES ESCUCHAR ESTAS PALABRAS SOBRE MANU, EMBAJADOR DEL DEPORTE ARGENTINO.!!! (Manu, Maradona, Messi, Fangio, Reuteman, Vilas, Sabatini, Monzón y miles mas!!!)
Straight up Baller ~
TE AMAMOS MANU!! 🇦🇷🏀🧡
I was at his last game as a Dubs fan but nothing but respect to him. I always loved his game so much growing up
Lakers, Suns, Mavericks and Lebron know how great he is.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 First TD, now Manu! Man my childhood hero’s are coming to an end. Greatness forever!
Someone should tell SAS that Argentina is NOT in Europe..and while you at it,tell Barkley it's not in Asia either 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
@@WissamSeif so *European* player means that to you? If i said Asian player eould you think of some black brotha with tatoos or some Pablo Perez guy or would you think of some Chinese guy
- 23 Big faxxx
He was referring to people playing in the euroleague in general. Don't get so upset bruv.
@@PowGetRekt i am not upset its funny...i almost died when chuck said argentina in Asia watch that clip he put Cameroon or some country like that in norther Europe in Scandinavia
- 23
What does NBA player mean to you? No one is from NBA LOL
From someone who saw the big 3 from beginning to end,..those of you who you never witnessed primed Ginobili will never truly understand just how great he really was. He was a dagger for many teams. Think about who he played against...Kobe, Shaq, Yao, both Wallace (Ben and Rasheed for those who don't know) Stoudemire, Nash, Kidd, Wade, Smith, Iverson, Webb, McGrady, James, the list goes on...
Steven A, Manu wasnt European, he was from Argentina...
he is referring to European basketball not to his nationality, he came to recognition and professionalism from European basketball
@@kukublof5057 no, he said european players... he is not european, his personality is not related to europe, so it was a mistake. And if you believe that, you don't know how is an argentinian xD
@@JesusECP there are 2 major basketball doctorines, American and European, each player can be brought up on either one but not both, no matter what his nationality is. Manu played in Italy, was drafted as European seasoned player, thus he is euroean in the context Stephen A Smith was referring to.
@@kukublof5057 he said european players referring to the attitude, he said europeans had the reputation of soft, manu is not european in that sense at all... he did not clarify things, he said european players and manu is not. He compared to americans (manu is from argentina/ south america) as he is european... I repeat, saying that from an argentinian is not knowing a thing. Manu played in italy, so? he was 20 when he went to italy, he was grown, and played before in Argentina
@@JesusECP he is Euroean in that context, maybe you have difficulties understanding context because English is not your first language
Ginobili wasn't a junkyard dog so much as a well-trained police dog. More than just blind aggression, he'd do whatever the job required to take you down. Mad respect from a Rockets fan.
There’s no doubt he’s a hall of famer with his impressive resume before and after he played with the Spurs is something that no other overseas player has ever done in the world of basketball and in the NBA.
How is that a question and I'm not a Spurs fan, I'm a Rockets fan. Manu did stuff that no one else did in that way and you never knew how he was coming at you. He's the one who first brought over the Eurostep that my man Harden and others use.
Ginobili's 1 Olympic Gold > All 3 of Melo's
Melo's all gold medals were WEAK.
Kellerman was right. Manu was the first "positionless" basketball player of his era. Most people never think of him as a point guard, and yet he was one of the best pick-and-roll players of his era.
It’s crazy that the spurs big 3 era is over... time flies
Blessings to manu and your family now you have more time with your family here in San anto you will be miss you on the court.
Spurs for life !
Man as a absolute fan of basketball it’s just sad to see all the greats of the nba retire or get ready to retire. I know it’s going to happen sooner or later but seeing these guys play year after year you never want this day to come. Salute to Ginóbili for all the great years!
