    I love your bohemian place and want to steal your round purse. LOL - Because you mentioned how since you've recovered, you've become interested in other important subjects, I have to say that I don't think it's a "coincidence" that for EONS women have been pressured to focus on our appearance. Granted, there are men with EDs, and they need more support, but the majority of ED sufferers are female. I highly suspect that it's all a plot to keep women "controlled". If you think about it, pressuring women to spend all of their energy and brain power on counting calories and exercising and getting plastic surgery to meet some "ideal" is a REALLY efficient way to control us and stop us from claiming our power. Men don't want women to be powerful. Stop giving away your power.

    I am not afraid of weight gain, but I am afraid that I don’t know how much weight I would gain. I was 100kg before I lost half of my weight and now I don’t trust my body to find a set point.

    • @flowwithchlo
      @flowwithchlo  2 года назад +2

      hmmm yes that is nearly everyones fear. Its the fear that they don't know when it will stop or how they will look at the end of their recovery journey. A big part of this process is trust and deciding that certain things like your health and mental freedom are more important than body size

    I'm in week 3 of my ED recovery. I haven't worked out for going on 3 weeks, I'm actually eating three meals a day. Have gained 8#.
    I was so thin and weak but kept pushing myself. Instead of making strength gains I was losing strength. I had to start BFR training because I just couldn't squat more than 50#! I'm 42 & that makes it harder, I'm the odd ball with an ED. I have lots of food sensitivities that make it hard to "feast" much less want to. Just goes to show we are all on our own unique journey. Appreciate your honesty, and transparency. It's needed to break down the diet culture mindset

      Yup we are all on our own journey and we must all listen to our bodies and do what's right for us. 💕

    This has been so helpful, just went on my first period in about 13 months. I'm still scared of weight gain and "feasting" but I feel pretty confident that at some point all will be well.
    Thank you so much for this

    Do I still need to eat a whole bunch even if I am gaining more fat on my body but still underweight?

    • @flowwithchlo
      @flowwithchlo  3 года назад +4

      Fat is soooo healing. It helps the body feel safe. Don't worry about building muscle until after recovery.

    I am struggling to justify buying new clothes at the moment to fit my recovery body. I fear that either I will buy a big size that with even eventually grow out of, or I will buy a size that fits too big if my weight settles down from overshoot. Do I just stick to stretchy clothes or is there a trick to buying jeans? p.s. this video came at the perfect time and very helpful for me!

      So glad it was helpful! I know the whole clothes thing is hard to navigate... and can be very pricey too. This is what I recommend:
      1.Dresses!!!! They are more freeing then pants and can pretty much fit you at any size.
      2.Thrift store!!! Buy cheap clothes for this transition period. No need to buy a whole new expensive wardrobe all to maybe not fit in it in a couple months.
      3.Stretchy pants for sure!!!
      4.Borrow clothes!!! Do you have friends that can lend you some new jeans? Are you now a similar size to your mom or sister, do they have clothes they can lend you?
      Hope that helps! Remember, your health is so much more important than the size you are and while overshoot and gaining weight can seem uncomfy and annoying it is so so so worth it!

      Hi! I understand that exercise can make you feel good and that you enjoy it but It's BEYOND helpful to completely let go over exercise for a time. This is for both mental and physical purposes. If you have restored weight (which we first have to define. Weight restored= un-supressed body weight, eating till satisfied, happy digestion, deep sleep, balanced hormones, mental clarity (no more obsessive food thoughts), and more) and still have no period then the stress from exercising, even light exercise, could really be hindering this process. When cortisol is high (naturally high during exercise) it suppresses sex hormones like estrogen making it hard for your body to find balance. If you are interested in talking about this in further detail and coming up with a plan to get your period back I recommend sending me an email contact.flowwithchlo@gmail.com. I have helped many athletes and recreational exercisers get their period back and go back to the sport they love in a healthy body and mind :)
