i steamed broccoli in it for 10 minutes and it came out amazing :)

I bought this 6 months ago and although I had no problem cooking rice on the stove, this rice cooker is great. Just cooks on its own and you don't have to watch it like on the stove. I misplaced the measuring cup forvthe cooker but just use a 1 to 1 ratio for water and rice and it comes out perfect every time.
It's extremely easy to use, I use it 2 or 3 times a week. I hand wash my inner pot, it takes minutes to do. Empty the condensation catcher every time. I mostly make Jasmine or basmati, I use low sodium chicken broth and lime zest or lemon zest. It's the best appliance I own. Great price great product. I wholeheartedly agree with this video!
I dusted off my Aroma rice cooker intending to give it away but I changed my mind and decided to start using it again. There were some things about it that I never knew. This demo was extremely helpful!!
Just recently received this and came here bc I was confused about the "chasing lines" once I start my rice cooker to steam rice. This has helped me! Thank you so much
Been using this awesome rice cooker for a year. I lost the measuring cup but thanks to you, I know it's 3/4 cup. To ensure a non-stick coating, I add a dab of something like olive oil, ghee butter (or regular), and this not only prevents any sticking but adds a little texture and moisture. Happy Cooking!
How long does 2 cup of rice take to cook?
@@lour58 I'd say less than 20-25 minutes. I like to add things like chicken breast chunks, mixed veggies, which add a few more minutes. If you are into rice and beans (like I am) you can buy the Goya Rice & Red Beans, Seasoned Rice Mix, add a little olive oil and necessary water...and voila! You're a Latin chef :-). They have different Goya Rice - check them out. As for this cooker, GET IT!

Yes it is, I've cooked white rice, BBQ country style ribs. BBQ chicken legs, sweet potatoes, broccoli and now I'm steaming Brussel sprouts. So it's cooked everything perfect. And no standing over it like cooking on stove top. I love my Aroma 8 cup Rice Cooker.

OMG THANK YOU -- I just got this & tried it last night for the first time. LOVED the way it cooked the rice & I steamed some salmon too, perfect!! BUT then I saw the condensation on the gasket at the top & worried how on earth to dry it. Thought I was going to have to return it --- you saved the day showing that the inner lid comes off!! The book doesn't say that, at least that I noticed. Popped it off, dried everything, & now I'm going to keep it & use it all the time!! :)

I've had an Aroma rice cooker for over 20 years, it's lasted that long, but recently it's getting wonky and not cooking consistently. Like you, I cook rice every week so bought the newest one for $30. Best value ever on a simple rice cooker.

@@CoralHoyt I never got the small cup that attaches to the side to catch the drips. I just thought it was normal to make a mess all over the place
