Works great if you pay attention to instructions. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia For those that complain about "mushy" or "wet" rice I suspect they are using the included cup to measure rice (which is really only 3/4 cup) and then putting in water using a separate measuring cup that is a full cup. This results in too much water and you will get mushy or wet rice and think it is not done. Just use the included cup for both rice and water, or your own measuring cup for rice and water according to your package directions. It will come out fine. I've used mine for years for brown and white rice. If your machine is bubbling white froth out of the steam vent then it means you should have rinsed your brand of rice first to remove some of the starch. Sheesh. Makes me wonder how people can cook well enough to feed themselves.

You can make macaroni in a Rice Cooker too. It's super simple :
    - boil the water
    - add chopped veggies in it n boil for 5 min
    - add the macroni n boil it together mix spices as per ur choice
    - keep checking it n stiring it
In no time u ll have delicious macronies ready . Enjoy!!

This is AWESOME! Minimalist.. easy.. no pots and pans..less dishes.... I love it! I might invest in one or two of these! I rarely use my stove as is.. i switched to a hot plate a while ago.. everything you do with a rice cooker is what I cook myself. I love the idea of the minimalism with this.

Guys try throwing in some browned onions, cinnamon powder(trust me) , some cardamom and bay leaves. Finish off with a little sugar and stir through once rice is cooked. This stuff is addictive. Please try it. It's our traditional style pilaf without the oil. 😋😋😋

FYI, Do not need to buy digital rice cooker. I use timer with my rice cooker. Go to work and set the timer. At 4pm, timer starts and cooks. Come home at 5 and my dish/rice is ready. Fresh rice/vegetables. Timer is a cheaper option. If rice cooker goes bad, just replace the rice cooker with your existing timer. With digital rice cooker, you have to throw away everything and need to buy another digital rice cooker. With Christmas over, timers are under $5.

I didn't think I would love my rice cooker as much as I do. You can get a cooker at Walmart for less than $20 or I see them in the thrift stores all the time so I bought mine for $3. When I don't feel like cooking, it is one item that I will use just to get a quick easy meal.
Quick rice idea. Put in brown rice, add water, add dried cranberries, add a bouillon cube crushed (I did onion), put the lid on, press down the cook button, when it snaps up to warm, take it out and enjoy.
Put in white rice, add a can of mixed vegetables, a little water, add a vegetable bouillon cube crushed, add spices as desired such as garlic, onion, celery seasoning, smoky paprika, pepper, etc. Cook, Enjoy.
During tomato season. I put in rice, add water, add a fresh tomato on the top. Cook, crush tomato and mix in rice. Yummy. You can add a little taco flavoring to make it mexican rice.
Things I put over cooked rice: Orange sauce, teriyaki sauce, general tso sauce, gravies, cooked lentils/beans or get a package of indian food at Trader Joes like punjabi vegetables warmed up. Note: the steamer over cooks veggies so you may want to put in the veggies toward the end or use hardy veggies that don't overcook like root veggies. You can also eat rice for breakfast with fruit on it or a little sugar.

Hi from the States!!!!Y'all are so much fun to watch. Ok,so we love our veggies, too! Something that works every time is stuffed bell peppers. Now I know there are tons of different stuffings that can be made so I just want to point out some ideas with this. When you cut your bell peppers,I think you call them capsicum in other Countries, cut them lengthwise down the middle for an easier and more attractive way of serving them. You can cook them adding veggie broth or in spaghetti sauce plus water for flavor.Zucchini or yellow squash also works as well. Many Vegan recipes also take leftovers like winter squash such as pumpkin or butternut squash and add to rice with a little garlic and olive oil which makes fir a nice rice with some chopped apple for an interesting rice cooker meal. Glad to see you two on the Internet. Hoping to share some interesting recipes. I'm a Registered Nurse and work as a travel nurse . Currently working in Las Vegas.
