Im juat hoping it has a difficulty setting or that it is harder than the demo (even after losing your powers you still basically 1 shot everything, in fact the scaling BEFORE the level shrink seemed a bit more balanced)
The difficulty has really weird pacing. You'll one shot everything until they throw a random enemy at you that whoops your ass like 8-10 hours into the game
When I saw the ads, I honestly felt like this was a better use of the XenoVerse prompt. Goi g through a very popular anime's past and seeing time distortions and how that could affect the story? Amazing!
The last minute of the review had footage for a massive ending spoiler for the new characters. Might wanna edit and change it. I felt like I was very spoiled now.💀
Your PC reboots while playing? Did you check your temps? Sounds like the game was making your PC run hot so it was rebooting to prevent heat damage to your CPU.
my biggest issue is the combat it's just so basic and boring, many other games did that way better if you make turn based combat there has to be something to keep it interesting the best example for this is the recently released chained echoes
I already knew I was gonna love the game, I mean I adored the Fairy Tail game so I'm very forgiving when it comes to turn based RPGs. But it's great to hear it's actually good from you.
Original story oda doesnt mean its written by oda. It means the original story was by oda. I always get this mistake as well. But i just realized it recently on a Dragon Ball content.
I finished the game a couple of days ago, going back and forth now to complete it 100% and just returned to Marineford. At one point a cut scene starts where the crew, and Lim, overlook the destruction of the marine base. And You can see the 3 marks in Luffy's strawhat from when Buggy punctured it with his three knives. Something I didn't notice the entire game because his hat was never that close in frame. Commenting this because it's definitely worth mentioning. That is some real attention to detail, right there.
The game looks and feels like Dragon Quest 11 in so many ways! Especially when it comes to the very expressive and goofy enemy design. I thought it would be kinda mid, but I'm sure glad I was wrong! Picked it up on sale for Christmas and I am happy I can add it to my One Piece collection!
The biggest problem with the game is pacing of gameplay mechanics. With how easy it is and the simplisitc type match up system, for the vast majority of early to mid game fights consist of spamming one skill. Characters like Robin or Chopper don't get more then one useful attack move for the first half of the game. Luffy unlocks almost 4 new moves every arc while Robin unlocks barely 1 move at the end of every arc. In fights where characters get resisted or hard countered, characters with 2 useable skills become downright useless, they can't do damage or have utility so the tactical team based rpg is just thrown out the window. The damage system just does not make much sense. A skill could maybe do 10% more damage but cost 50% more tp, with no added utility, the assumption is you upgrade the higher tp skill for more efficent damage output but you can't upgrade skills until the game lets you. Stauts effects just seem to happen at random, there are no numbers shown or percentage chance. Every move that applies a status effect uses obtuse wording like " may cause bleed" Again with sheer lack of options the whole debuff side of an jrpg it just gone for most of the game. Only 1 move for maybe 3 characters can cause a status effects and they only work against targets weak to those effects, and even if you do get into that situation, who knows if you'll actually land it.
@Globku my homie you are a true man of culture n a the goat of anime/anime game reviews. When ever I need an honest review or a catch up on a anime I always come to your channel great job my friend as always keep it up.
This is a step in the right direction but not quite to my tastes. What we really need is a huge open world RPG where you sail between different islands from the series as either the Straw Hats or your own crew. Still, good to see them stop making those dynasty warriors games.
There’s something really exciting that the people who develop bdsp went on to make a much better game, im glad they at least took it as constructive criticism
This is what I wanted to hear, Glad to hear this will be the Game of January. Many RPG channels are just skipping one piece just because "Anime games". Maybe a patch could add a difficulty setting or DLC? All I know is I'm going to 100% The game on PC, hopefully, I won't run on any issues.
Gonna be honest, i only like the one piece pirate warrior games, cause i don't like playing as the straw hats, i love playing as other characters like enaru, WB and doffy.
@@eduxcloud no it isn’t. It would just make sense giving the game already has snakeman. But idk if they gonna pull a fast one on us and just not give us a proper dlc.

Bro I don't know why they don't make a game like sea of thieves where you can choose to be a pirate or a marine. Everyone would love that plus they would make a lot of money.
I'm really glad they only did the cubes and accessories for the game after xc3 with 6members, 3 gear slots, 6 ability slots, 3 passive ability slots, and then 3 more ability slots for when they form it got super annoying after a while
I’m glad the combat isn’t too basic but I was hoping the game would have used something similar to Wild Arms 4 Hex system. The battle has seven Hexagon grids, with 3 elemental grids lit up as the battle starts. Your characters and enemies are randomly thrown on the grid, your characters can share a space and enemies can share a space. If you attack a group of enemies or heal a group of allies then everyone will get the same effect.
I got a question about exploration. You can only see items only if you are using a character?. Like if you're not using Nami or Sanji or Robin you can't not see the items?. The same goes with the items Luffy can grab? The pacing of this game look so bad. Everything takes so long...talking with NPC's. Character running hyper slow...changing characters... back tracking for padding.
Questions: Does this game have New Game Plus? How is the saving system? Can you quick save? Are there point of no return segments or can you visit past areas to do side quests and get all the items?
No. Manual saving in save points only, but it has auto save. You can always return to areas or segments, unless it's something story based that has no colelctibles or items anyway
Im not completely up to date in One Piece yet. I've currently just finished the Marineford arc. Should I wait on playing this until I get caught up in the story more?
You know how somtimes you do like, move set predictions for characters... (unless i dreamed that) I think it would be cool if you did that for the DNF dlc. That is all.
How spoiler heavy is the game? I'm pretty far behind (just got to Water 7 in the manga). This looks pretty great though. Should I hold off until I get much further? I saw elsewhere that characters/locations may be spoiled but the story isn't, whatever that means.
Wasn’t robin in alabasta? How could she experience it for the first time if she was there with crocodile? Or am I misremembering? Was robin no in alabasta with crocodile or was it someone else?

The difficulty has really weird pacing. You'll one shot everything until they throw a random enemy at you that whoops your ass like 8-10 hours into the game
A one piece game where you can create your own character and play through the story and make choices to change the outcome of the story
Sounds like the game was making your PC run hot so it was rebooting to prevent heat damage to your CPU.
robin was in alabasta but she was with crocodile at the time, and not with the strawhats, so it wasn't her first time witnessing the events
Yeah, that's aknowledged in game. I could have phrased it differently
my biggest issue is the combat it's just so basic and boring, many other games did that way better if you make turn based combat there has to be something to keep it interesting the best example for this is the recently released chained echoes
I love JRPG's and the Staw hats are perfect for a great JRPG Party.
So basically kingdom hearts chain of memories storyline 😂😅
I finished the game a couple of days ago, going back and forth now to complete it 100% and just returned to Marineford.
At one point a cut scene starts where the crew, and Lim, overlook the destruction of the marine base.
And
You can see the 3 marks in Luffy's strawhat from when Buggy punctured it with his three knives.
Can't believe the final enemy of One piece Odissey was taxes
looks like a perfect onepiece mobile game
"Robin who witnessed Arabasta for for the very first time" ??? 🤔 she was the secondary antagonist of the Arabasta saga.
RPG channels: Ew anime games
Also RPG channels: *Proceed to play games that look and feel like anime*
Oh the irony
Gonna be honest, i only like the one piece pirate warrior games, cause i don't like playing as the straw hats, i love playing as other characters like enaru, WB and doffy.
i preorder the deluxe mainly because im hoping the later dlc is gonna be wano and whole cake with the transformations
@@eduxcloud no it isn’t. It would just make sense giving the game already has snakeman. But idk if they gonna pull a fast one on us and just not give us a proper dlc.
@@eduxcloud Bro said he's hoping so it's obviously not confirmed 💀
I think it takes place between Whole Cake and Wano. Luffy has Snakeman and his bounty poster says 1,500,000,000.
Wow that glitch is gnarly.
It’s wild that it wouldn’t affect your score lmao
Sanji is routinely one of the coolest characters to use in OP games and is always screwed over by the mechanics keeping him from being useful for large chunks.
If they add the villain as a playable characters then im sold right now im sick of playing the same character up until the end the least they could do is add some costumes like a lot.
i really dont like that one piece games dosent includes the new contant from the anime until years after the game is set bettween dressrosa to wci which was 6 years ago and makes it feel outdated
just finished the water 7 part of the game and as a person that just completed alabasta in the anime it explains everything pretty well actually but it dosnt spoil so much that i dont want to watch the anime or read the manga
Globku 2023: one piece is butter than tales of arise
I played every one piece game
And played the demo for this game (it’s really bad)
They tried to make unlimited cruse 4 and they failed
but this time they improved by giving us demo so u can wait for it to drop price maybe 30-20$
35 hours only?? I’m expected to drop over $100 for a game that I’ll finish in less than a week… 😒
Bro I don't know why they don't make a game like sea of thieves where you can choose to be a pirate or a marine. Everyone would love that plus they would make a lot of money.
Is there a difficulty setting? An easy battle system the entire playthrough kinda turn me down
I'm really glad they only did the cubes and accessories for the game after xc3 with 6members, 3 gear slots, 6 ability slots, 3 passive ability slots, and then 3 more ability slots for when they form it got super annoying after a while
I’m glad the combat isn’t too basic but I was hoping the game would have used something similar to Wild Arms 4 Hex system. The battle has seven Hexagon grids, with 3 elemental grids lit up as the battle starts. Your characters and enemies are randomly thrown on the grid, your characters can share a space and enemies can share a space. If you attack a group of enemies or heal a group of allies then everyone will get the same effect.
Sounds boring
Wait did you get the game early? I thought it came out tomorrow.
Well at least we get a full game review so I ain't complaining
Wish it was on the Switch. I have a PS5 too, but I’m always on the go
Likely took place after whole cake island as Luffy’s and Sanji’s bounty represents that.
It looks great and with a good story, but this style of combat is just not for me.
I will pick it up eventually when the price drops
Same I’m not huge on Turn based games… was hoping more for like a pirate warriors 4 fight style but I’ll give this a shot when it’s on sale
m2 was excited to try it but the combat is not for me gonna skip on this one
I'd honestly consider getting it if it had a dark souls type combat system
I’m gonna be streaming it tonight after work can’t wait
Took 18 minutes for RUclips to recommend this to me and I'm subscribed. Srsly RUclips? I was scouring your site for content.
I've clicked every video about odyssey but have yet to watch I only read comments because I don't want to be spoiled lol
The goat has returned!!!!
Played the demo and loved it so hype to play the full game. Set sail!
how do you play the demo?
@@spacebread9334 What are you new? You download it from PSN or whatever store you’re on select the demo, download it, play, and enjoy.
@@illadelph42 im on steam and i cant find a demo D:
@@spacebread9334 dono if steam has a demo sorry
Questions:
Does this game have New Game Plus?
How is the saving system? Can you quick save?
Are there point of no return segments or can you visit past areas to do side quests and get all the items?
No.
Manual saving in save points only, but it has auto save.
You can always return to areas or segments, unless it's something story based that has no colelctibles or items anyway
Im not completely up to date in One Piece yet. I've currently just finished the Marineford arc. Should I wait on playing this until I get caught up in the story more?
Given you completed Marineford, now you can play this game. That was the biggest thing linked to this game.
"like robin who witnesses alabasta for the very first time" you got me there
Yeah it's my guess the actual stupid hard content will be in the DLC
You realize Robin was in alabaster originally right………
That’s what I thought hahah it’s literally where we meet her for the first time and when she joins the crew 😅
You know how somtimes you do like, move set predictions for characters... (unless i dreamed that) I think it would be cool if you did that for the DNF dlc.
That is all.
"It wouldn't be One Piece without combat!" , I'm sorry, but my 7th flashback episode in a row with 0 punches thrown says the opposite.
Robin visits Alabasta for the first time. Miss All Sunday has a word for you.
How spoiler heavy is the game? I'm pretty far behind (just got to Water 7 in the manga). This looks pretty great though. Should I hold off until I get much further? I saw elsewhere that characters/locations may be spoiled but the story isn't, whatever that means.
Just finish Marineford, and then play this. After marineford, there isnt that big of a connection with this game. Like I mean an Impactful connection.
Man I’m so hyped for this. Bout time I played a one piece game
One piece pirate warriors 4
@@ssjthegod4682 don t like musho games
@@ssjthegod4682yep. PW4 is still amazing imo
Wasn’t robin in alabasta? How could she experience it for the first time if she was there with crocodile? Or am I misremembering? Was robin no in alabasta with crocodile or was it someone else?
I just started the game and I'm already surprised they did Sanji after Zoro in the intro :p
I'm so hype can't wait to play this
@@gamerbeast3616 unfortunately it is not 2 hours I played the demo yesterday it was at least 56 minutes
