Great tutorial. Nicely succint and presents the necessary steps logically. Thank you. One small item - I think the range bars/lines (not sure the right terminlogy) on the FCR page are 2-4-6-8 kilometers.
The descructive power of the FCR and the radar hellfires.... what a gamechanger. This helicopter has been doing laser guided close air support in the middle east for 15 years and been awesome at it. And yet, we havent seen its full potential yet. Damn.
Sure thing! Just wanted to get this quick and dirty out for the Apache players in The Damned before our squad night. In the mean time, try playing with the manual elevation controls (up and down) 🙂
Thanks for making this. When I got the update Tuesday morning, I couldn't figure out how to turn on the FCR, lol. You are way ahead of everyone else, are you a beta-tester? Wags called this a God weapon. But I see it is not. I mean logic and the laws of physics imply that. I made a mission where many enemy armor are hidden behind buildings and trees. Often, I can not see the targets on the TAD even though I know where to look. And I often get shot down. Now with FCR, the targets sometimes do not appear. And if they do, the missiles hit trees before impact. Glad to see ED has simulated this with nuance. Miracle weapon no, but still an interesting piece of kit.
Not a beta tester (I wish 😅), just really into aviation! I think the system will become much more effective once it becomes integrated into the other aircraft targeting systems. Right now the FCR (to my knowledge) operates independently; once it can hook into the TADS/LINK I think we'll really start to see what it is capable of.
When I scan the battle area. I get a boxed and triangle target but they are dashed when hellfires are selected. When they go boxed is when ive deselected the hellfires! Therefor can't fire. I have ensured that they are radar not laser hellfires! Any ideas?
great video and thank you. I do have a question, Im fairly new to this and only have FCR installed in the fire training in Caucus and when I try other missions it reads FCR not installed
Glad it helped! Until ED adds the option to toggle the FCR in the rearm screen, the FCR being present is set in the mission editor. If you open the mission you want to play in the editor and select the Apache you're flying, there will be a checkbox option to add the FCR 🫡

Thank you. Very informative. So far, your video is the only one I’ve found that shows me how to ‘Power Up’ my FCR (though, I’ll not pretend to understand all the steps you show). Just leaves me to figure how to arm my hellfire L missiles? Cheers 🫡
@@DamnedGh0st I don’t think it does anything ? I used I them without it but was unsure of what that does, some other videos also show the bind but I never see them actually use it 😂🤷♂️

Gotta love the way you say you are doing a regular old cold start and then quickly brush through about 5 or six things as if nobody else needs to do what you did and then move on. They sure didn't look like unnecessary steps to me. :) If so why couldn't you just do it with a freshly started Bird with nothing else done? Just an honest observation.
My series are numbered curriculum. Each video assumes you have an understanding of topics covered in the preceding numbered videos as they build upon each other. If a step is unclear, rest assured it has been covered at some point 🙂
🤔 Well the video is VR 1440p @ 60fps, so when you upscale to 4K it can certainly lose clarity. Let me know what settings you use to record VR and I'll give them a try, thanks! 🙂
I haven't felt like it's out of place; it is fairly naturally presented in my field of view. Could your VR headset be positioned too high on your head? Imagine the entire IHADSS display boundaries as a square, the "square" should be centered in your field of view, not the "+" (targeting reticle).

Oh my, you're 100% correct! Apologies for the oversight, pinning your comment for people 🙂
Thanks you were the first to create this wonderful tutorial. Thank you so much. 🙏

Thanks for a good paced and nice depth tutorial!
When ever i hide behind mountains as for terrain masking it won’t detect target can you show us how to do terrain masking with fcr

To fire the hellfires you use your weapons trigger not your consent to fire trigger. Maybe that helps.
Hopefully what @CFMLEAP mentioned helped, if not can you post a link to a screenshot showing the issue?

I'm not sure what you mean. Just WAS the hellfires the same as you would the laser variant and let it rip :)
3:29 I pressed GMT button but nothing works ? Edit: FCR installed and powered.
Make sure you press "Sight Select Switch - FCR/Left" before pressing GMT button :)
Great video, thank you. There was one control I wasn’t sure how it’s used : GTM you didn’t mention how it’s used ?
I do at 3:15 - Click the FCR bind, then the GTM bind, and then you can use the Apache FCR :) Why? No idea, that's just what we need to do 😅

updated the game... but cant work out how to install the FCR dome !
Either on rearm or in mission editor

Amazing break down! Any ideas how to actually install the FCR? I cant add it via the f10 menu nor can i find it on the mission editor :/
It’s in mission editor, but not sure where. Dude that runs our server found it and added to our missions.
Yeah i had a look in the ME and couldn't find it in the loud out panel :/ @@jed70

FCR ranges are in Kilometers not in Miles, iirc
Yessir, I have pinned a comment about that :) My apologies, I was running on ~4 hours of sleep when I made this.
thanks for video

Is this made on Win 2000 with an onboard AMD graphics chip from 2005. Cause on my 4k screen this looks like a dog's dinner.

What kind of hellfires are you suppose to use on this?
Radar Hellfires (AGM 114L)
Looks like you are in VR. Does your IHADSS seem like it's too high in your vision? I have to look down to get mine in target.
I haven't felt like it's out of place; it is fairly naturally presented in my field of view. Could your VR headset be positioned too high on your head? Imagine the entire IHADSS display boundaries as a square, the "square" should be centered in your field of view, not the "+" (targeting reticle).
Anyone having "LOS INVALID" problem?
Make sure you press the GTM/UP keybind after selecting the FCR as the targeting method, and also have your Hellfires equipped :)
Thanks, will try@@DamnedGh0st
5:40 I think that the boxes are tracked vehicles, not unknown. Squares are unknown.
