This week, we met up with Phil and Stacy from You, Me & the RV. They have been full-time RV living for many years and are some of the biggest RUclipsrs for the RV niche. This week, we joined them at their very first RV rally and met so many other like-minded friends!
If you know anything about RV life, you would know how awesome this community is. We took it upon ourselves to judge Phil and Stacy as they arrived. Backing up an RV can be one of the most daunting tasks, so we laid the pressure on them! Who says RV life isn't fun?

To help your Mac & cheese dish...while the water is boiling add frozen vegetables & chopped up hot dogs & leave them in during the entire cooking process. We call it our one pot dinner.
Son, I worked for a huge company (at the time) for 20 years as an appliance technician. When I was unable to treat customers the way “the company” wanted me to, I gave in, I quit. I was self employed for another 20 years and not only success, but for the first time in years I was satisfied with the way “my” customers were being treated. I’m now retired, content and enjoying summers at home and winters in Arizona. You’ve got this! 👊🏼 Good luck in your endeavors!

It is always a good time with the Hanks! Even as a seasonal RV'er (wife still works), I do all I can to sit and watch people pull in, set up and evaluate (not Judged) on their performance. Sometimes they do things that make it easier or do things that you say, I pray to God, I never do that. Velveta Mac and Cheese is a great lunch or sometimes a great dinner. Learned a new way to drain pasta, been cooking pasta almost 50 years and never seen that done before, so I think "Cooking with Carl" is a great idea. 🙂

Dang y'all were back near me again! I would have geeked out of I ran into you guys and Phil and Stacy. Nursing school has had me barricaded in the house for weeks, but we were able to camp in Mt Dora two weekends ago to refresh. Such a beautiful, peaceful little site there. We will be camping at Hanna Park for a week end of April and I'm soooooo looking forward to it! Enjoy the mountains!!

Might want to consider a "MORryde Chair Buddy" for your RV. I love them. 1) push chairs in, 2) put MORryde in down position. Done. Love the Vid.

Hey Hanks! You know we all are here for the Dex Man LOL!! And yes Carl, when we make mac n cheese the packet has to be squeezed until you think your fingers are gonna fall off! We’ll if Carl is anything like me, the closer it gets to the hangry hour, the better off everyone else is with NayNay behind the wheel!
Here's how to keep your RV Judges at bay.... After 25+ years of RV'ing and dealing with goofy and crazy hand back up signals (picture hands pointing opposite directions at the same time, etc), we bought a pair of the typical walkie-talkies but wife couldn't hear her walkie-talkie over the diesel engine, and on occasion she'd stress out and accidentally squeeze (and hold down) the Push-To-Talk button so I couldn't talk back... screams, shouts, mean looks, hands flying in the air, etc, you know. Eventually we found the best back-up RV tool: EARTEC Ultralite wireless headsets. These have hands free (VOX) operation, full duplex (both parties can talk at the same time), crystal clear audio, and excellent range. Save yourself a bunch of back-up head aches and order a pair. Single and dual earpiece models available. A bit pricey but very much worth it! (No, I'm not associated with the EARTEC company, just a happy EARTEC owner.)

#cookingwithcarl Pro tip - A watched pot never boils but a covered one boils faster.. once boiling you don’t need a cover but a wood spoon layed on top of the pot prevents the foam from boiling over (although blowing on it helps) and finally the absolute best thing to do is toss that silver lined bag of liquid gold right in your colander… that way the hot water and noodles liquify the liquid gold to a consistency to get every last bit out …

Gotta stop by and give you (and your viewers) the best tip for cheese packets - if your pot has a lid, sandwich the bag of cheese between the pot and the lid, with 99% of the bag on the inside. Slowly pull the bag out, and the lid will act like a squeegee (?) and you'll get all of that cheese!! If you don't have a lid, you could probably do it with a plate or a cutting board (but YMMV, I've never tried it!)
This tip also works for any sort of liquid in a bag (spaghetti sauce, fudge sauce for brownies, etc).

We had engine problems, well our dash AC went out. The compressor locked up. The RV repair shops were all booked up so we called Ring Power Caterpillars big truck shop in Sarasota Florida. They got us in the next day. The new AC compressor was on that night, but they asked if they could keep our RV overnight just to double everything again in the morning. Sometimes outside sources can be a big help.

Luv that u all are going to Myrtle Beach. Our son is a Fireman/emt in horry county little river station. So we go there a lot. Our favorite place to camp is MB travel park. Really nice and pretty much on the beach! Smokies our favorite place. Will be moving there in a couple of years. Try Up the creek camp ground for quit time. The best is anchors down right on lake Douglas. Be careful out there!

Love the Smokey mountains and especially the Blueridge parkway. I'm definitely glad we did the Blueridge a few months before we traded up from our 18' to our 34' trailer. While I love the space in the bigger trailer I don't think I'll be taking the big boy on the Blueridge =)

Poor Bob, as we were watching your video and you pulled in to Southern Palms I smacked him so hard and yelled "well Sh*t, are you kidding me! When were they there!?!?" as if he knew lol! We were there twice this winter and the second time was just 2/11-2/25!! So seems like we didn't miss you by much? How funny! That would have been awesome! Hopefully we will catch you at a rally! We are heading out west though. And tonight we are at a HH - Beauvoir, the Jefferson Davis home and presidential library! Pretty cool! Ocean view, gated, water/50 amp, and 2 tickets for the museum tomorrow for $26!! Going to a Oil Rig Museum next week on our way to Texas. And have stayed at a Air heritage museum right next to fighter jets too! Anyway, hope to meet you guys some time!!! Love to Dexter! And Carl and Nay Nay lol!

I see you all had better luck at Southern Palms than we did. I have a video on my RUclips Channel New Horizons of our experience there. They changed our site number at the last minute and stuck us in a mud hole where someone else just got hung up. They gave our original site to the people who got hung up. They laid out a magic yellow rope and told us "if you stay on this side of the rope you will be fine and won't get hung up". And they said that your RV isn't that heavy. We have a 2021 Grand Design Reflection 303rls Fifth Wheel and pull it with a 4500 GMC Topkick. Yes I think we are a little heavy. Lol. Needless to say we sunk into the ground like all get out. And they wouldn't give us another site. So we said that's one Thousand Trails Encore campground we won't go back to. We left the Florida RV Tampa Show to go there to get hung up. Check out the video on it. It's called Thousand Trails Campground Nightmare.
