    He also has been actively fighting human trafficking via the senate - and developed software which has found thousands of children and other victims caught up in slave trade. He even has personally been on several FBI raids and has literally saved lives. Dude's a full on philanthropist; but not just in the way of donation - but in action.

      PixelGlitched FBI raids meaning he caught some drug addicts?

    • @themostfowl
      @themostfowl 7 лет назад +30

      Jack LaBarge most raiding targets sellers actually. it's not very good practice to spend that manpower and money going after small fish. you're thinking of misdemeanor arrests which target poor and blacks unevenly.

      I've heard of this software and his involvement in it, and agree about his philanthropy and generally relatively admirable use of wealth, but i'm gonna need some source on that "personally participating in raids" part. Even all the wealth in the world, (let alone his relatively lesser portion thereof,) does not constitute or substitute *combat training*, and i highly doubt any responsible operation would let what amounts to an untrained civilian into such an environment, regardless of how instrumental the software his money developed was in knowing where said operation should occur at all. Being on site in the command post van helping with the software? THAT i can maybe see happening. Armored up and assault rifle raised, taking point on a breach? That, not so much... :P

    • @pixel_glitched
      @pixel_glitched 7 лет назад +15

      Macro Shaft I agree - and I imagined it was not likely on frontline but rather on site as support as well. But there was an article that I did read about his anti trafficking work that did mention FBI raids. I always pictured the Van scenario too. Kind of like Punk'd - but for saving people with cops.

    Ashton Kutcher is one of the very few actors who are incredibly smart in real life but plays dumb characters really well.
    Rowan Atkinson was the pioneer and the master at it.

      Man I know I'm late on this but YES. Back when he was on That 70's Show when I was a teen I loathed him because Kelso was such a dumb shit. But then that speech & an interview with him in Cosmo Girl where he opened up about some crazy horrible shit in his past and spoke very intelligently about the state of the world totally 180ed my opinion on him. Been a huge fan ever since because it's honestly amazing how talented, intelligent, and genuinely decent he is. Have a lot of love for him.

      YES THIS. And it hurts me that there are a group of people who find a way to take what he does against human trafficking and use it to make him a bad guy? Some of his Instagram comments are disgusting. People say he does it for clout and money etc which is just wrong because 1. He’s Aston kutcher- he doesn’t need money or clout
      And 2. Even if he were doing it for his own personal gain (which he’s isn’t) he’s still doing it. Full stop. He’s still speaking up against it. People are so stupid

      Nancy Rodriguez Investment should be a habit that all working Americans adopt. Imagine how many families could remove their lineage from poverty with something as simple as investing. People would rather buy lottery tickets and lose repeatedly than put 10% of their paycheck into something that could yield them a larger return.

    • @jannikjakobsen346
      @jannikjakobsen346 7 лет назад +16

      Well in that case I "Imagine" a constant salary, an interest rate of 5%, inflation of 1.7% and 10% of the paycheck invested. I then imagine it would take 58 years to increase the income be 90%. Assuming you started saving when you were 19 (and worked until you were 77 - I have great imagination) and have been living as a poor american in Gary, Indiana - you die. Thus leaving all you wealth to your 1-1.69 grand-kids (average per parent, assuming two parents) and increasing the next next generations income by 53-90%.
      I "imagine" your imagination might be worth shit to poor people :-) Great idea though - I'd just like to see proper math on it.

    Flurpee would be beneficial to the agriculture industry, but it would also be amazing for animal researchers. Being able to have a tracking chip also monitor the vitals of the creature such as when its sick, how high its blood pressure is during a chase, or any other biologically fascinating information on how the animal performs internally. Heck, why not extend it into the medical field to monitor how patients react to certain diseases or cures, real time monitoring on what is going on in the body with a new level of broad but precise measuring of the patient's vitals.

      Roulden There are portable blood pressure monitors that are often used for diagnostic & research purposes, most often in the field of cardiology. They can be very useful in those instances but to date are too cumbersome to be something anyone would wear 24/7 "just because".
      Continuous heart rate monitoring, on the other hand, is quite readily available not only for medical use but as a feature on a large number of sports watches & fitness trackers/ monitoring devises.
      It would definitely be fabulous if something as minimal as a small unobstructed implant was able to do the same thing...both for humans & non-human animals.
      In addition to the value of around the clock monitoring there is often great value on being able to measure an individual's blood pressure during day to day life as it is quite common for some people's BPs, HRs, etc change solely as a reaction of knowing they are being monitored, at a doctor's office (aka "white coat syndrome"), etc.

    Flurpy is actually a good idea. How about instead of messaging your friends, it sends an alert to you and records your health trends for your next doctors visit. It could lowkey revolutionize the health care industry.

      Which one? Or both? Also America is very confused about the use of both "than" and "as." "He looks the same AS 15 years ago. Hordes of people now say "different as" when they mean "different than" or even "different from." I'm certain it's Trump's terrible influence. (Don't even get me started on it's vs its because auto-correct is obsessed with it's for every occasion. Do you mean to say "it is" right there? If not use "its.") Rant over... Some things just have to be said in a place where no one will care anyway.

    I really like Ashton Kutcher, smart, good, considerate midwesterner. watched the clip from his new Netflix show, The Ranch, which apparently is supposed to be somewhere in the middle of america. that means the midwest. i'm from the midwest, about 3 hours where Kutcher is from and well, we have no f**&^*% southern accent. WTF does he have a southern accent in his show? he's from Iowa and well, listen to him talk in real life - a "midwestern accent" which is the flattest American English there is. i really hate that TV/Movies portray midwesterners with southern accents. first of all, it's not authentic and secondly, it's pejorative. there are dozens of examples unfortunately and the one that comes to mind is Jennifer Anniston in i don't know what movie, where she is supposed to be a simple midwestern girl and for some odd reason, she's got a southern twang! WTF hollywood????

      He did not mean this literally, it is an old expression meaning why do/purchase something when you can obtain the benefits without doing/purchasing said thing. Commonly used in terms of marriage, i.e. why get married when you get the benefits of the relationship without it.
      Also, if this was a troll post; kudos on hooking me in.
