  • A very large response to a building fire in Treforest, South Wales. The fire was declared a major incident and saw 16 pumping appliances, several water carrier units, incident command units from both the fire service and police, a high volume pump, the hazardous area response team, drone units from both the police and the fire service, and the urban search and rescue team. As well as this, Welsh Ambulance sent more than 10 ambulances to the scene.
South Wales Police sadly confirmed on the 14/12/2023 that a body was found during searches of the building and surrounding area.

That was a good place to film it from, as none of the responders seemed to know where they were going.

To be fair there was a lot of repositioning involved and a lot of the units were temporarily based just down the road due to lack of space at the scene. This meant some units would go to the temporary base instead of straight to the scene, or some of the appliances were approaching the scene from the wrong side and needed to reposition to a different angle. Either way, made for some decent footage!

5:41 oh my goodness gracious it's the Whelen bootleg of the Scientific-Prototypes Mark VII siren/tones (infamous for 70s era NYPD sirens). The bootleg version by Whelen is very popular on CHP vehicles after 2012?, but after 2022 they no longer program the tones onto newer vehicles of the fleet.
