  • Morning routines are so 2018. Evening routines are that new newness. Let’s face it: your morning routine might be as dialed in as Rodrigo Koxa at Nazare, but if you slept like sh$t the night before you’re just wasting good money on expensive organic berries. (Those are still good for you). We’re all pretty good at going zero to 60 in no time at all. It’s the going 60 back to zero where we could use some more attention.
Here’s how Kelly incorporates soft tissue work and breathing downregulation at the tail end of the day to better ensure a good night’s sleep.

This guy is so good almost nobody is smart enough to understand it. Not even 18k views on maybe the most world altering video on youtube. This and the 10 minute squat video changed my life.

he's really smart but he uses too many big words to make simple concepts sound more complicated. I'm convinced he does it on purpose now.

I can’t follow a word he says - just a lot of jargon and conceptual talk

I don’t think he’ll ever have that middle-of-the-bell curve, mass appeal. It’s a little too insightful for what gets that slot- immediate gratification. This is an advanced class, and it absolutely should play to that strength.

@@AElabed foam rolling + slow controlled breathing = great for downregulation = better sleep.

As a coach, you throw a lot out there n see what sticks. I'm 44secs in and I'm just looking for that gold dust. There's a lot to be said for having a positive mindset and proactive attitude.

Kelly it's great to hear more info like this. I've been involved with the Russian martial art Systema for almost 20 years and breathing and breath control is one of the pillars of training.

Been enjoying rolling before bed for about a year now. Good to know some of the science behind it. Thanks Coach.

This was such a valuable video, thank you Kelly 🙏 I used to do 10 minute self massage/roller before bed but got out of the habit. This has reminded me of the benefits.

Thanks Kelly. As a firefighter I have learned to lengthen my exhales which has done wonders in acute stress management.

I'm really glad hes incorporating breathing and breath into his videos now. It is so crucial to communicating information to your brain before the stress occurs. You can really effect so much change by simply practicing good breathing techniques in conjunction with proper movement

Gut smashing as it was explained to me by one of my yoga teachers:
    Every person was a baby.
    Babies die without care.
So every baby was cared for once.
    Babies cry, they get held.
So every person has a memory of relaxing their belly into something, and comfort following this action.
    You can try it yourself.
Lie face down on the floor and breathe.
Let your stomach relax, and push into the floor.
Because you are on your belly, it's easier to exhale than to inhale. This makes your exhalation longer.
    Breathe a couple rounds.
    How do you feel?
It's not magic, this practice. I sleep within a minute of closing my eyes though. For many, that is magic. Eh, so I shared it. Goodluck and thanks for all the tips.

I appreciate your sharing info, but please use videos to SHOW us; talking about it just isn't enough for people who are visual learners. I'm disappointed.

This might be good for lunch time on work days. My advice for sleep (may not work for everyone), grab a beer (or 3-4 espressos), eat a butt load of pasta, inspect the inside of your eyelids for about 2.351 seconds, and recover consciousness 8 hours later.

I really really love this stuff and it's helped a lot but .... I think if Kelly stops talking he'll die. We're believers bro ... just tell us what we gotta do already hahaha! I don't want to watch 10 hours of videos for the few exercises I need. Maybe a cheat sheet or something?

    • @chiggsytube

True but those 10 minutes activate your parasympathetic nervous system. That is the point of this work, getting out of "fight or flight" and into "rest and digest." In this mode, your skeletal musculature is malleable. Have faith brother. It works.
