Then I looked at the CSL pedals, shortly after that I watched a lot of reviews of these CSL elite v2 pedals and decided that was the right way to go. It is a complete game changer in my racing consistency and feel for the braking, it is worth every penny of those 300e. I run it with the blue spring and softest polymers just as they came from the factory, because I don't have any preference yet. I have it setup at about 40% and I mitigated the soft throttle spring by swapping clutch and gas pedals. I don't use the clutch much right now but I will in The near future as I just got my first H-pattern shifter. I may have to ti change the distance of gas to brake for better heel and toe. These were good pedals. One thing no one mentions is that pedals that are angled back this far really need to be used in a more upright driving position. If you try to use them in a low seating position you can by tilting the whole pedal set towards you however the problem no one mentions is that your heels then rest on a slope as opposed to a flat surface. Doesn’t seem like a big deal at first, however over the course of a race I found my heel would slide down the heel rest and result in me pushing lower on the face of the brake pedal than I was at first. That means less leverage and less brake force being applied and making me miss the corner from under braking. This happened so much I had to make a makeshift heel rest to stop my heel from sliding down all the time. I’ve seen others do similar things so I’m sure it’s not just a problem I experienced. If you want your pedals level with or higher than your seat base I’d say look elsewhere.
Have had these pedals for some months now: For drifting, throttle is WAAAY to easy to press in. Im a tall guy And just the weight of my foot presses the throttle in. So I get tired in my legs keeping my feet at zero throttle. So any throttle control is very hard. Today I swapped the throttle and clutch pedals over and it’s a new world! I can live with a very soft clutch. But I expected more from Fanatec to be honest. Didn’t expect to have to modify it to get it drivable 😅
I started with the CSL and went to the V2 and have been extremely happy with them. I agree with the overly light throttle and what I did was swapped the clutch pedal and rubber (for the travel) since I don't use the clutch.

Man what a good review this was. I had one of these and upgraded to a higher end one, but still watched everything just because of how well and criticality thought this was. And just to add something, I upgraded to a much higher cost pedal just because while I had this one I went into the ‘your pedal has to be stiff’ theory and didn’t give the softest elastomers a proper go. Of course I won’t go back to using this, but if I could go back I’d never had upgraded and this pedal would be the last thing I’d upgrade in my gear list.

How much stiffer is the throttle compared to the normal csl pedals?
I'd say they're the same, almost zero difference in stiffness, but they DON'T clunk at the backstop like the CSL's do.
@@dannyleeracing would you recommend buying the elite V2 or buy the LC to the CSL and an ebay mod to make the throttle on the CSL stiffer?
@@TTMScissors I'd say it depends on whether you're going to upgrade again anytime soon. If it's gonna be your set for years to come, go for the Elite V2's - they're on sale right now aswell for 33% off.
@@dannyleeracing ok thanks 🙏
@@dannyleeracing do you think the Clubsport V3 pedals could get a discount? Because if the get i’ll buy them instead
they're still shipping faulty load cell brakes on these for some reason in 2023 and 2024. after finding the issue goes back to initial launch i think this is unacceptable. it seems they are pretending the issue doesnt exist and have not appeared to at least increase QA on this component
What's the issue? I've seen reports of some of the load cell shafts snapping (see Jarno Opmeer), is it something different to that?
@@dannyleeracing mine never worked out of the box, just unresponsive. firmware is up to date and I've tried connecting to wheelbase as well as direct to pc. I haven't heard back from fanatec in 2 months
@@jasenhenry 2 months is totally unacceptable - you submitted your ticket 2 months ago and haven't heard anything back since? What region may I ask?
@@dannyleeracing i sent an email two months ago. however my ticket was opened last tues. im not expecting a speedy response, if at all. already contacted my credit card to exercise buyer protection. this is an avoidable hassle. im in US
It's completely avoidable, this has been a real winter of discontent for Fanatec customers affected by this stuff. They've gotta fix it for good or they'll be no more. I hope you get a fast resolution either way.@@jasenhenry
Danny did you post this now on purpose because of the BF sale? Cheeky.
It was scheduled for 6PM later today, but then I saw them go on sale, leapt up from the sofa shouting 'ZOINKS' and posted it. Jammy/lucky that I just had it ready.
@@dannyleeracing haha legend! It's all about that grind/algorithm!
Sounds like someone knows what's going on sale and when, or at least what :-)
biggest problem of this pedals is the elastomers, this are going to be dead, and brake will start "feeding brake input" without any force after 3-5 months of use
I swapped the elastomers with hard metal springs and now the brake force stays consistent, a bit unrealistic feel with the springs but i am all about laptimes and consistency
you should ask jarno opmeer about biuld quality😂😂😂😂 they are btw now on sale only for 200 euro
Oh yeah 😂
Context for people: Jarno Opmeer, an F1 esports pro, broke two sets of Elite V2s. He must have the leg of an ox!
@@dannyleeracing do you feel like it is easy to break? I've seen some people reporting that they destroyed the brake pedal easily, and it got me a bit worried. Couldn't skip the 200 Euro sale though, finally upgrading from the G27 :)
Hated these peddles 🤷🏻♂️
Why? Iv the v3s love them.
not enough details to use this as a credible opinion.
@@Django45 true lol I just don’t like them
@@wallyedmonds8199in what way
They probably hated you too because you called them peddles.
what would you recommend, clubsport v3 for $300 or elite v2 for $200? Now I use regular csl with load cell sensor
I bought these pedals as an upgrade from my CSL. These pedals are the best budget pedals avaible if you ask me! I hated the load cell till I got used to it! Standard issue in moving into a load cell lol. These pedals are fantastic tho! I just needed to move into proper braking and this did it.
Load cells always cause that 'oh god, what is this' feeling when you first try one! Thanks for dropping a comment
