This is exactly how ASMR should be! Dark background, no bright studio lights which are awful on my eyes when im trying to sleep. Quiet and gentle sounds, not speaking a millimetre away from the mic so it sounds like my ear is being chewed off like everyone else does. Simple triggers that arent over complicated and distracting or chaotic. This is just pure bliss🙌🏼
I’ve been watching ER videos since I was a freshman in college when I first got into ASMR ~ 2016/2017. There is something very comforting about his videos popping up at this point, feels like he’s my RUclips dad. Thank you, ER

Consistent sounds, generally subtle, really make great ASMR imo. School flims, the tapes had that consistent static sound. I think alot of people like a fan running just like me when they sleep, and/or videos/music. Its a nice consistent sound and it drowns out the creaks and whispering, and general annoying sounds without being a problem for sleep. I'd fall asleep to the sound of water slowly filling the bathtub, and have several hours of a tub being turned on, followed by the sound of the metal piping heating up and expanding as the water starts filling. I'm tired just thinking of it. I hunt for ASMR triggering media, from old infomercials, to music, and a ton of videos that explain and talk about all kinds of stuff. I did this before ASMR really hit YT, now everyone can identify with that feeling and enjoy it together without sounding like creeps and wierdos lol
He just don't miss. Everyone I keep seeing does the SUPER fast triggers, that doesn't help my brain that's already going a million miles a second. Edit: wanted to add that he also got me into ASMR. I looked something up to help me sleep and his medicine man roleplay caught my eye. Still my favorite! This man's has gotten me through middle school AND high school. Keep it up, Rift. Cheers.
Probably the reason he doesn't say much after he starts the timer - fewer lines to screw up. The biggest speaking part is after the timer runs out, and there IS a jump cut there at 1:00:03 . Wise strategy indeed.

Recently I’ve been watching a lot of Rift content and man, you are truly amazing. There’s always some rabbit hole to follow on this channel, for example, I just discovered a Charles something video (I don’t remember the name), and discovered there’s a whole series about a case of a couch companion. Which is only one of the few discoveries I’ve made in this channel, is truly fascinating. And I’ve been watching more and more videos of the Arkham Sanitarium and I’m somehow starting to understand the characters a little bit better. Like someone said, you come for the ASMR, and stay for the ASMR and lore.
A video that I personally would love to see would be an elden ring type one or Minecraft or maybe another dark souls one but also great job! keep up the good work!

Totally agree. I love the creative, expressive, zany stuff and the conversational pieces, too, but this was sooo peaceful.
