Great video! I used to run the boilers for the vats that cooked those logs at 26:17. Spent many nights watching chips burn and trains move around the yard. Newberry was the northernmost point for the Reading R.R. That little building where the Lycoming Valley R.R. now has their office used to be the Reading's office. Was Conrail when I was around there, but my uncle used to chase Reading back in the day and he told me about it. Spent many Saturday's running around Newberry and out at the bridge that crosses the river at Antlers. The guys at Newberry got to know us and I even got a (short) ride in an engine in the yard. Still have the photo my uncle took of me sitting in the "big chair" of Conrail's GP-40 engine #3002. Great times and seeing these places bring back many fond memories. Thanks for that!
Yes,! The gentleman made reference to some train callings. Back in the late 70s early. 80s Conrail. had one. I worked,TV. 16 a van job on the New Jersey Division that went along. th Hudson river
I'm a European and live in Southwest Britain, we've nothing like your freight Railways here, and I really enjoy your Videos, especially those with the Commentaries explaining how your Railways work over there. Always been a follower of the Norfolk and Western, and of course now the Norfolk Southern.
Thanks Peter.. I'm glad to be able to help you learn a little more about the railroads in our country.. It will only get better from here so keep chiming in.
I live in Melbourne, Australia and I have been a fan of US railroads since I was 6 years old (I'm 58) and I'm also a bills fan from way back so I enjoy the region you portray... cheers from Oz...!
Oh wow.. Aussie, that's cool.. You guys have some rugged, hot-weather ore railroading way down there if I'm not mistaken.. I've not been to Australia (yet).. But the pictures and video I've seen of Melbourne make me want to get there more and more by the day.
Hi Trains21, I like the video, As a truck driver of 40 years, I know a lot of these places. So it is great to see them again. What is the music playing at 3:41 and on, I like it
As a trucker of many years myself I consider it an honor.... To the best I could, most of the songs came from Bensound.com. They are (very good) royalty-free tracks.. 1 or 2 came from other sources.. Here's the names to the ones I could find from Bensound: New Dawn Tenderness Sweet Cute Energy Clear Day Jazz Comedy Hope this helps.

Eastern part of the Buffalo Line (east of Emporium) was originally part of the Philadelphia and Erie built to compete with the Erie Canal. The line up Keating to Buffalo was built much later.
Hi AC, I am watching the Video again, because it‘s good and I‘ve just had Lunch, and noticed Water being sprayed onto some Timber in a Yard near Milton, what is the Reason for that, Fire Precautions or to stop the Timber drying out too quickly?
Trains21 Great AC aren’t modern Communications great you could just be at the End of my Village in North Devon. My Wife and I are just about to go and play Bingo on FaceTime with our Children who live and Work in Berlin. I guess you‘re staying Home because of the C-19 whatever keep safe. Thanks for your Reply and great Informative Videos.🚂😺👍
You are correct. The logs are being sprayed to keep them from drying out. They are destined to be cut into veneer at the Keystone Veneer plant. I used to run the boilers that kept the curing vats up to temperature there. Each type of log had a specific temperature to be cured in the vats to prepare them for cutting once they were moved inside.
Andrew Bolig Hello Andrew, many Thanks for your Information, that sounds interesting, when I retired as a Railway Permanent Way Engineer I worked for a small Sawmills and on one part of the Yard we used to Pressure treat Timber to tantalise, a preservation Treatment. Thank you once again.

Many thanks for the info.
Nice video! Do you know what days of the week the Driftwood Turn on WNYP runs?
I believe it's a 5-day a week operation.. But I'm not totally sure.
the Buffalo and Pitt gets on the buffalo line in Machias?
????
If you're asking what I think you're asking, the B&P connect with the Buffalo Line at Driftwood, Pa..
no no bud the BP get on the buffalo at machias and uses that to get to their yard in buffalo
Oh, Ok.
WNYP rarely use between olean and Machias because they interchange at salamanca with BP
What song is this in minute 36:03
