  • Leap Day 2024 brought some great weather, great lighting, and an opportunity to catch another train traversing the former Pennsylvania Railroad Buffalo Line! This day, I revisited the region for the hopes of a better chase of Western New York & Pennsylvania's OL-2 making another sand run to Emporium, which did not disappoint! After stopping along the way to work customers and refuel their de-rated ex-CSX AC6000s, the train then made its way into the steep hills and valleys of northwest PA, conquering the grades with ease before reaching the Emporium transload yard!

When the big power came around the curve near Turtle Point, I thought I caught a glimpse of the Unstoppable for a second. Great mountain railroading. Thanks once again.
