- Turn up your speakers!!!! Here is a brand new Gulfstream G650 taking off right in front of me at FULL POWER!!!! I was just there for a flight lesson and I always film before every flight lesson and I was lucky enough to catch this beauty going up. It was being test flown by Proctor and Gamble's flight department, who is headquartered here at Lunken Airport. Proctor and Gamble is a worldwide corporation headquartered here in Cincinnati, so I see their jets going up quite frequently. ATC included. Callsign is Gulfstream 650PH. Filmed from the Main Terminal parking lot on Airport Road on September 24, 2013 with a Nikon Coolpix L820. Also, thank you to RUclips user ElectricGUnSmoke for allowing me to use his tripod.
What a gorgeous aircraft, that wingspan is just unbelievable!
It really is unbelievable! I was amazed at that when I saw how wide the wings are.
great video! I've worked with these aircraft for the past few years & it is awesome to see them fly!!
You're very welcome Jordan, it's a pleasure for me to watch your video's and comment on them, cause they are all soo awesome! :) Yes, this plane is really awesome to see! :)
Beautiful takeoff!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Amazing video Jordan!! Amazing plane!! I love that small plane!! Beautiful close taxe!! Amazing as always!! Thanks for sharing!! Well done and a HUGE LIKE!!
Very nice video, thanks for sharing! Love eating at the Sky Galley and watching these aircraft.
Thank you very much, Klaus! That is cool your father flies a Learjet. I am in flight school now and have talked to a Gulfstream pilot. He flies a G550. He said it is such an amazing aircraft to fly. It is mostly automated, but a very smooth ride.
Lol! Absolutely!!!! Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas this year is a flight crew position on this gorgeous aircraft right here. Lol
What a beautiful bird! I'd buy one but I'm financially-challenged. I've been on a G-IV thanks to a wealthy friend. It was an amazing experience. I can only dream of a G-650 ride! Great clip!
Thank you so much, Mylos! Really appreciate the kind words. It was truly an amazing plane.
Beautiful footage of an amazing aircraft. Thanks for posting.
Trust me. It is WELL worth the wait to see one in person. This is now my favorite business aircraft of all time. It is simply a work of art. They are still pretty new so mot many around yet. But they will start popping up soon at a rapid pace, I'm sure. And that means more awesome footage for us spotters. :-)
What a goddess of aircraft!
It sure is gorgeous!!!! Absolutely beautiful!
Damn...I'm not usually a fan of T-tailers, but the G650 is one beautiful aircraft.
"T-tails" me neither but Ill bet for different reasons.I dont like jack shaft trim adjustment engineering. Embraers Phenom 300 has an ok T-tail it does not move because it has conventional elevators and trim tabs[CHECK ALASKA AIRLINES CRASH]
Thanks, man! I love it, too! It's my new favorite business aircraft. Especially after filming this. Really glad you liked it! :-)
Thanks, Mylos!! So glad you like them! I have a cockpit video coming soon with all the ATC (of course. Lol) and intercom and stuff.
Very nice video!! My favorite corporate jet!
Nice, it took off like a rocket! Thanks for posting!!!
Thank you very much!! It really did take off like a rocket. It sounded like one, too! Just a lucky catch. ;-)
the wing span on this aircraft is outstanding
I agree. 93 feet and 8 inches (28.55m).
Jordan Guerin subscribe to ma channel
+Jordan Guerin Actually, G650 wingspan is 99' 7" & G550 wingspans is 93' 6"- Cheers
well said
such a great looking plane!
Really awesome footage Jordan! :) Amazing plane and awesome close taxi :) Excellent job as always! :) Very big like from me man! :)
Amazing catch of this rare plane..! There are very few 650 in the world..! Like this video and the plane very much..! :-)
That's true. They are currently few and far between. This one is a prototype Gulfstream is flying around to potential clients. They are trying to sell it to Proctor and Gamble in this video, who are a company that does business all over the world. They are ranked #27 on the Fortune 500 list. So a huge company who would definitely have good use for this plane.
Thanks. Haha! It became my most popular video after 1 week. Lol. I guess people must love the G650. I know I sure do! :-)
Nice catch man!! Great looking Gulfstream!
Thank you so much, Tyler!!! It sure is beautiful! :-)
BOOM!!! Quote of the day!! I totally agree. :-)
My training is going quite well. Glad you aspire to do so as well. I have a total of 13 hours so far and very close to solo. And absolutely get started soon. With all the baby-boomers retiring, that will cause the airlines to have a large shortage of pilots. The only downside to it is it is VERY expensive. The amount spent varies based on the student. I absorb information learned in training very quickly so it will bring down my bill. But budget about $7K-$9K for a private pilot license.
That thing's got some thrust! In thrust I trust
I am 19 and I took my first lesson at 16. But I only started doing more lessons recently due to the money. It takes a lot of time to save up that much money.
he rotated HARD.... nice vid
What a cool video! I'm thirteen and I want to be a pilot of a Gulfstream. My father is commander Learjet and would like to offer my congratulations on video here in Brazil.
Thanks, man!! I just filmed a blimp earlier today with ATC. Hahaha!!! It was cool to hear that on the radio.
"Holding short runway 7, ready for take off"...please correct me if im wrong but isnt this really bad RT, in fact something similar comes to mind about the Tenerife 747's...."Ready for Departure" is standard RT where I fly. Great video though and what an amazing aircraft..
Well, I'm not sure where you fly but here, we can say ready for takeoff or ready for departure. Both mean the same thing. It is not as common if you listen to comms at our international airport, located only about 7 minutes or so from where I filmed this. Departure is more commonly said down there. But like I mentioned above, I have heard both.
Jordan Guerin Im afraid your ill-informed about the use of this word, as it CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be used, like it was in the video. Im not sure whether you are a pilot or not, but if you are, im shocked that you think it is acceptable to use this after pure evidence has proven that it is very dangerous to do so. Moreover, it completely contradicts what ICAO ANNEX 10 states can and should be used (if you dont believe me, look it up). The rules are very clear, you only speak the words "take off" when you have been cleared and or responding to a "take off Clearance" by ATC....otherwise it is ready for departure every time, no exceptions. Ive done a fair amount of flying in the States although I am based in the UK, and have never heard anyone apart from a couple of PPL students accidently saying it...(they were very quickly corrected) If you know anything about the Tenerife Disaster, and the confusion that arose from a number of factors (including the use of the word "take off") when it shouldnt have been spoken by the crew at that moment, then youl realise that even common sense denotes that it should only be used as a read back of a clearance as opposed to informing ATC your ready. (I suggest you do some research on this, as after reading a few comments, it seems like youve started some kind of flight training? if so I strongly suggest that look up what you are allowed to say and what not, as in the commercial world, errors such as this can lead to far greater issues, and im still shocked that on a "demo flight" of the G650, the crew used it.
It is. It should be ready for departure.
+antonr91 Most pilots in the States couldn't quote a ICAO annex if their life depended on it; I know, I used to be one. I am now based overseas and steeped in the ICAO lingo. Anyway, best would have been "N650PH, holding short runway 7, fully ready" Avoids confusion, tower now knows your holding short (a required call back) and your ready for clearance.
Wait what is the difference between saying ready for take off and ready for departure?
I want one so bad!!
Hahaha! Not sure I would want to own one, myself. Too much money for maintenance. But if offered a job to be the pilot, I would certainly take it.
Thank you so much!!! The taxi was a fun part to film. And this plane is a very nice airplane. It costs $65,000,000US (48,027,200 Euros). Thank you for the like! :-)
I wish I could fly a G1000. I will start that in the next year or so, though. I am in college majoring in aviation. You will need a 4 year degree regardless of if you fly for airlines, corporate, etc. It's kind of an unwritten rule (unless you fly for Delta). But if you majored in aviation, then you have more points. And the minimums depend on your school. If you attend a Part 61 school, then it's 1,500. But Part 141 is 1,000. Most college programs are 141.
Thanks! :-)
Amazing man! The biggest and most awesome Gulfstream yet! Just a beautiful bird. Love the thrust reversers on taxi. How is your flight training going? How many hours so far? I want to start in the next year. I'm 15 yrs old now and would like to start at 16.5
Very nice! My dream is to fly for an airline. Possibly first for a regional airline. My older brother is in training. He has his commercial and his instrument rating. Now he is working on CFI, which is about the only way to build hours (for free) and make money. Since the airlines require a minimum of 1500 hours. The airport where I plan to train has a Cessna 172 G1000, which is very nice. You fly the G1000, dont you? I hope your training goes well for you! Brad
Wow. Nice amount of views on this one man!
Thats cool! Thanks for the info! What is your age? and when did you start your training?
Nice video sir....
Rock WoLf Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it.
It’s a great video and fabulous aircraft thanks for sharing. However having looked at prices, I realise the range is long but really is it worth $35 million then the G280, no one would claw that cost back in fuel savings.
Milhouse 329 Fair point. It has a big price tag however I think when folks have an enormous amount of money, it's more about the status symbol than anything else. As for companies, I suppose a massive international corporation would enjoy the range. Someone like Coca Cola or Proctor and Gamble or Royal Dutch Shell. But if a company were just operating domestically, a G280 would be a fine choice.
a 64 million us dollars can do !! I want to Buy this
Amazingly short run to V2.
It was very light. This was a test flight to see if a local company wished to purchase the G650.
Jordan Guerin Ahh, that explains it. Be interesting to see how far to V2 it'd have to go for a standard full passenger load.
Yes. I also did not likely have too much fuel as I imagine they just flew it around the Cincinnati area for a while. I had already departed on my flight lesson when it came back so did not see the landing.
Puzzoozoo From the GA info, 100,000lbs TOW @ SL, +15C, V2 is146kias, dry rwy, flaps 20. Around 5500' of runway req'd.
StevieP Nice. The runway he took off on is 5,128 feet long. But since he did not have much fuel on board and no passengers, he had barely any takeoff roll since he was so light.
dear santa...
Mine, too, after filming this! Lol.
Tem que pousar em Cuiabá também lindo jato Brasil aeroporto de Cuiabá marechal rondom internacional
I thought is was G560...
Very nice! I want to be private jet owner
Well, I hope you have a lot of money. ;-) This one costs About $65M US.
I pray and work everyday. I hope that G-D give me private jet :-)
We have a lot of private jets here at KLUK. I have seen jets ranging from small Citation Mustangs all the way up through Boeing 757s here at KLUK.
Igual ao meu avião
Huge windows
E se eu tivesse dinheiro compraria uns Airbus pra mim aqui
Gulfstream's demo jet
Yes it is. It was here to do a demo for Proctor and Gamble.
Bad thing on owning a private jet is that you die alone or with a few close ones, in commercial jet at least 100 over people die with you! Hahaha!! .....I know! ...some will laugh and some will hate me on this sharing! Sorry!!!......
Its as long as the WW2 ,Boeing B-29 that bombed Japan into submission [although they got over it].... 99feet.
Regalemme un gulfstream
