This is one of the greatest video's i've ever seen. The views are spectacular. I doubt I'll ever get the chance to fly to this airport, but it's now added on my "have to visit" list.
This is the best aviation vid I have seen Matthias, don't know how you pulled that off as most airlines will not allow any electrical device inside the cockpit unless it belongs to crew. I tried it on an Aer Arann flight with no success. Thanks for this super edit my friend.
Hey Matthias extremely awesome video! This jet actually belongs to Naguib sawiris, I have been in this jet before and I know the pilots really well, it lands here in Cairo quite often, I have been in this cockpit very often it feels really cool to have someone which also has contact with this plane!
Thank you for that SUPER cockpit-adventure! Had the amazing chance to sit with the pilots (head-phones and all!!!) during an overseas-flight from Vienna to Toronto. Of course that was before 9/11. I had gone up to them, just to ask if they'd permit me to take a photo, flying over Labrador. They did ... and invited me to stay for the rest of the flight. Can you imagine how exciting the touch-down of that colossal bird at Toronto Airport was? Unforgettably engraved in my mind. THANKS for reminding me Matthias ;o) HAPPY EASTER to YOU & YOURS ... Karin
mmbmbmbmb Dear Karin WOW I have no doubt that it was a great experience. Moments you will never forget! Which aircraft type was it? Thank you so much for your kind words. I stayed in Ireland for a few days. We flew over a rainbow... I will soon upload the video :) Have a nice day , Matthias
mmbmbmbmb I thought it was a B767 :) Great airliner with two extremely powerful engines. It must have been a great adventure to stay so long in the cockpit. Have a nice Sunday, Matthias
***** I remember quite vividly now, that it was doubly overwhelming ... and one joy almost took away from the other. Because ~ I was still living in Vienna at the time, and had been on my way to visit my Canadian children. Touching Canadian soil made my emotions run wild, as you can probably imagine ... and all this in the cockpit of this mighty machine! Uhhh ... still makes my heart beat faster, when I think of it! Your Sunday is almost over ... so I wish you a very good coming week Matthias o) Karin
You get my vote for the top planespotter in the world matt! This one just goes to show! Ive collected a whole personal library of your Gulfstream vids over the years. Now -thats- a cool screensaver! Keep it up! May I ask, and would you be able to say, who is Musik? A record company maybe?? It has to be the coolest reg number since Apples G650- N2N. Looking forward to the next one!
+matthiashaenni Ok. And a quick trip to wiki reveals that his company, Orascom, develops hotels and resorts. He also owns over 12% of the Swiss football league. He seems to be a very cool guy. He lives in Switzerland so that explains why his gorgeous G650 is seen at Bern a lot. I just like to know what king of man you have to be, and what kind of company you have to create to fly one of these birds. The man is an inspiration, he knows his jets, and the best part... He is the same age as me! :) So if he can do it, why not me? So when my software company gets that successful, clear me for landing at Bern. Im in central US, and I think a G650ER can make that trip in one hop! See you then!
Wow. The above was an understatement. Orascom, and the three brothers and their father have a fascinating history. They are in many industries besides hotels and resorts. They are all over the map, and have Billions in revenue. Big investments in Switzerland too. Probably have a FLEET of Gulfstreams. Awesome, very classy company. Continued success!
Awesome video. I love the camera angle and I also love the editing of the two screens of the approach. As sidenote the Citation X can reach speed of Mach 0.935
Does anybody know- if upon landing do you have to throttle down before deploying the thrust reversers, or can you keep the throttles open as you are deploying the thrust reversers?
Sir, you must bring the power levers back to "Ground Idle" before thrust reversers are available. There is a mechanical stop that prevents accidental deployment early. Be well 604.
trucking604 The Throttles MUST be @ ground Idle before you can select TR (they will NOT deploy/unstow if not at idle). Btw, forward thrust(forward movement of the throttles) CANNOT be selected when in reverse thrust, they are mechanically locked out.
Very cool to see the approach into Bern from two perspectives, that is one stunning G650!
Thank you very much my friend! :)
nice video mate
Matt this is probably one of your best videos… this is just incredible filming. Great catch!
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Much appreciated!
Your welcome!
Love it, Pilot is so calm and cool like just another day out driving the bus!
This is one of the greatest video's i've ever seen. The views are spectacular. I doubt I'll ever get the chance to fly to this airport, but it's now added on my "have to visit" list.
Beautifully done video with the synchronous split screens.
Thank you!
Best video yet. Need to make longer version with original landing and takeoff
Thank you David.
That's the coolest thing I've seen you upload! Great job.
Do more Videos like this please! See if you can get other pilots and other planes to cooperate! This is my #1 video on your channel.
Thank you Sam! Great to hear!
it's great to watch the approach and landing from the left seat
Thank you James :)

Thank you very much!
Super Aufnahme! Thanks! Die G650 ist einfach der "geilste" Jet auf diesem Planeten.
I Really Like the View From the Pilot's Seat in the Gulfstream G-650 Business Jet!!!
This is the best aviation vid I have seen Matthias, don't know how you pulled that off as most airlines will not allow any electrical device inside the cockpit unless it belongs to crew. I tried it on an Aer Arann flight with no success. Thanks for this super edit my friend.

Thank you for posting (msn 6037 / M-USIK) landing Bern. I used to land there years ago in a Dassault 900EX. Great airport and great handlers. Be well.
A wonderful aircraft and a superb friendly crew. Thank you very much for watching. Hope you will soon fly to Bern again.
Nice landing!

***** Hi Matthias ... not sure, but I think it was a Boeing 767-300 (Air Canada).
Am already looking forward to your "rainbow"!
Happy day, Karin

Very nice landing but a very rough runway surface! When are they going to resurface this?
I am a Gulfstream fan but if I had the money, I buy a BBJ. Love the room inside.

+Joe Townsend No, it is not from a record company. As far as I know it belongs to Samih Sawiris.

The new Cirrus jet is faster than the X now
Awesome!
Thanks!
Some people jet around Europe in a Gulfstream 650, and some of us drive around our home towns in a Ford Focus. Oh, well...
Cool
Thanks
What is the technology called (or the brand name of) the glass in front of the Pilot's view?
Search "Rockwell Collins HGS-6250 Head-Up Guidance System" Be well.
thanks ART, just searched now, as I had been thinking gosh the sun must be bright as the pilot's wearing glasses and has a 'sun-visor" of kind
Bin echt neidisch... und beeindruckt... vor allem aber neidisch 😅
Night vision capable?
What app did you use that u can put the cockpit and the landing at the same time in one video?
+Mark burough I mentioned it in the video information ;) It is Final Cut Express and iMovie.
Von wo eisst du wann diese grösseren Flugzeuge landen und starten?

Is it also for iPhone?
I see Gulfstream still has not fixed that very noisy flight deck. A huge problem only for the 650. The 550 cockpit is whisper quiet
Is this a HUD?
matthiashaenni - you are subscribed sir - be well!
Thank you!!
Where is Bern? Switzerland?
@2:21 who saw the bird
I was going to buy one, but I could not get the velour upholstery found in early eighties Chevrolets.
The electromechanic instruments are superior. More megapixel -> more brain load!!
Beautiful aircraft but this is as close as an average person will get to see this view from one ?
And not some rich banker from Switzerland
that iCrap iPad is ruining the view
It's a shame... this aircraft will be obsolete once the Global 7000 launches
GZA2014 Lol! I think not!
Ah shame
