  • Kate and Kathy from Thrive aged care enact a common scenario - supporting someone living with dementia to get changed, when they perhaps may not think they need to. Kate and Kathy show you a common scenario leading to the person living with dementia becoming upset and agitated and not wanting to get changed. They then re-enact this scenario using Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care strategies and techniques, demonstrating a more positive experience for the person living with dementia and the carer. Learn how to better communicate and support someone living with dementia to engage in everyday tasks through practical advice and strategies to improve connection, engagement and communication, minimizing the onset of changed or responsive behaviours. Kate is a registered Occupational Therapist and Kathy is a Registered Nurse. Both are certified to teach Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care Champion Modules. Both have over 40 years (combined) experience and expertise in supporting people living with dementia and carers.
