Hi Jonny, thank you so much. I enjoy trying to get all of the little details into my artwork. In fact, I'd almost say I was a bit neurotic about it. :)
Hi Brenda, being very new at the hobby of wood burning, I searched everywhere for tutorials on how to become proficient at the hobby. I came across your videos and realised I had found the best tutorials available. I love how you show the burning process sped up and along side you show it in real time. All the others show it 8x or 10x and it really does not show how long you have to stay in one spot, or what technique is needed to get the affect. I also love your narration, it is very easy to listen to and it is also well explained. To my surprise, I checked out your website from your link and found a heap more valuable information. Many thanks for what you are doing to promote the hobby of Pyrography.
Hi Dave, welcome to the world of pyrography. I hope you will enjoy the artform as much as I do! Thank you for the wonderful comment. I'm having a lot of fun and it's great that my hobby is helping others. My tutorials are an evolving thing and I always hope they are getting better. Thank you for the feedback. I was trying to figure out how to show some real time burning while keeping the overall length of the video semi-short. My husband thought it was distracting, so I'm glad to hear it's actually helpful. Brenda
@@PyrographyMadeEasy Hi Brenda, thanks for you kind reply. Let your husband know that the inset video in real time is clever. None of the others I have seen as yet are doing the same thing, perhaps they should. As a point of interest, I am mentoring a 16 year old with autism at the men's shed I belong to. I have picked up the basics and passed this on to the him and he loves working with the 'Pyro machine' as he calls it. His work and skills with his hands is great to see. This is why I wanted to learn all of the other techniques so I can pass these on also. Keep up the great work and tutorials. Dave from Australia
Hi Dave, that is so awesome! I'm glad that you have found a way to really engage the young man. Kudos to you for wanting to learn more so you can help him. Thank you for sharing that wonderful bit of information. I really hope that both you will enjoy pyrography for many years to come and that you both create fantastic art! Brenda
Hi Brenda, You're a great teacher. You explain so we'll. The bird turned out really good. I like the colored one too. I think it really comes alive then. Great tutorial as always. Thanks for explaining as you continue on the bird. So helpful. : )
Great tutorial Brenda, lots of info in there for the learning artist. I have not heard of the Purple Finch, i must say its a fine looking bird. You have created the feathers in stunning detail , which is usually the case with you , your shading skills are working at full capacity in this video i see :) A big thumbs up from me . i always enjoy watching your wonderful video's Q O P
Hello Dino King! Always wonderful to hear from you. I left the word "house" out of the title. he's a purple house finch. House finches are pretty common, but during mating season these little boys get rather colorful.
@@PyrographyMadeEasy Oh that's great Brenda, its a great looking bird i must say, you have a lot of nice birds flying around where you live . I always wonder what your next bird artwork will be :)
Hi Ash! Thank you so much. I'm glad to hear that. I wasn't sure how well people would like having the video in a video. Thank you again for the wonderful comment! Brenda
Hi Brenda I always love your bird drawings, they always turn out awesome and I don’t no maybe it’s just me but I think they always end up on slightly another level than your other work, or at least they’re always the ones that stand out the most for me if I’m scrolling through your videos! It’s kind of ironic that you use the birds house to make a picture of them on 😂 Burning the frame on the outside really finished the piece off nicely too 😊 Great video and tutorial as usual Brenda 11/10 😎💙
Thank you. I really like working on birds and they are pretty easy to do. I actually enjoy drawing big cats, otters, etc., but for some reason I don't draw them very often. As my hubby would say, "artists are weird people." I'm sure he means it as a compliment. :)
Good stuff Brenda, I do love your tutorials on our feathered friends, visually stunning.👍 I wish I got so many different varieties where I live.😞 I noticed your mention of 'charcoal pencil' several times during the video, I'm assuming that was directed at idiots like me who keep asking you questions about what it is you use - maybe that's a good idea for a future tutorial? 'An idiots guide especially for Pete' 🤣 Excellent work, keep it up
Hi Pete, Thank you so much. Do you have bird feeders out? I have sunflower, suet, and "dove/quail" food that I put out, so I attract a lot of birds. The downside is that I also attract a lot of fuzzy tailed rats (squirrels). :) You're not an idiot. Todd tells me that I tend to assume people will get what I'm implying and that I need to spell things out more. When I get questions it just reminds me that he is right. Not that I would EVER tell him that! Thanks for the wonderful comment! Brenda
@@PyrographyMadeEasy I live in the middle of a city in North East England, near the coast, so it's not the greatest place to attract birds. My garden isn't big but I do have a couple of bird-feeders hanging. I used to have a table so that the bigger birds such as Blackbirds or Thrushes could feed, however, that attracted 'Flying Rats' - commonly known as pigeons - who would wipe out any food I put on the table and they'd just hang around all day - I hate pigeons. Birds such as Robins prefer a flat surface to land on also, so feeders are no good for them. I need to construct a platform with mesh that allows birds of similar size to Blackbirds to feed but not so big that the 'rats with wings' can get in 🤣
I have a mesh covered feeder to keep out the fuzzy tailed rats and larger birds; it works very nicely. I do recommend a suet feeder as that attracts some very different birds. I get numerous types of woodpeckers that only visit my suet feeders. By the way, I've started referring to the band-tailed pigeons I get as rats with wings. I love that term, but I add "pooping" to the front of it. The band-tails are even bigger than park pigeons (almost double in size) and then can quickly cover everything in a not so lovely layer of whitewash....aka poop.
Hola Fernando, Uso varias capas de laca para sellar la madera. También he usado policrílico con buenos resultados. Gracias por la pregunta y maravilloso comentario! Amazing art work! I’m just a beginner so I wanted to ask, do you burn on plywood? And also, if you burn the darker feathers, do you just go over it several times or do you switch to a higher setting? Thank you for your amazing video’s!
Hi Inge, Thank you for the compliment and great question. I do burn on plywood. Generally speaking I reburn over it several times. I very seldom adjust the setting on my burner unless I'm working on a really large area. Then I'll increase the setting to reduce the amount of time it takes to burn in the area. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Happy New Year! Hope it is filled with much happiness for you and your family. Also hope it's filled with a lot of pyrography artwork! :)
