Sir, I really like the way you make some woodwork. You teach us not only to complete directly the work but you tells us also the problems, options, decisions, possibilities and many more. Its like we are there making that stuff. Thanks Sir.
I have done some woodworks in the past but this woodwork plan ruclips.net/user/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG helps me do much in a far lesser time than i used to do i have already built several projects with this plan and i intend to do many more soon. Thank you so much!
I am addicted to your channel Bob, and so glad to have found Foureyes. Not only are your woodworking projects remarkable, but both of you make really watchable video's.
+I Like To Make Stuff +Chris Salomone I never comment on videos, but when two of my favourite RUclipsrs collide in the comments section I couldn't resist. Keep up the great work guys. Your videos are inspiring. :)
I knew what kind of videos and projects to expect after watching your first video. You are a genius, pure artist. Can't wait for the next video! Take care!
You are a hugely inspiring woodworker. You are doing the kind of stuff I hope to be doing in the future. Did you have any professional training in this field?
+Crafted Magazine Thanks! When I first started, I took two classes at a community college to learn how to use the various machines, etc... That's pretty much the extent of my formal training. Other than that, just lots of trial and error, and asking questions on forums.
It's gorgeous, so light, "airy". Stability wise, you could have added cross supports on the top and bottom rails without damaging the overall design. But I like it a lot this way : lighter, more refined, it almost feels like it's balancing as if by magic ! Thanks again for taking us through the whole creating process.
+Thomas Thanks Thomas! Surprisingly, it isn't that the glass can tip off with too much weight. It is that the entire table (base and all) could tip over with too much weight. That said, it is plenty strong for throwing your feet up on...and really, as long as nobody sits on the worst edge/corner, it'll be fine. And if somebody did that, they've got bigger problems that hitting their butt on the ground.
As a fellow woodworker I am loving your videos so far. Hard to find woodworking videos on RUclips that are really enjoyable to watch all the way through. Really looking forward to seeing where this takes you.
I really love the vibe in your videos. They are so soothing and make me want to practice my woodworking more. What measurement tools do you use? Especially that ruler. Keep making these videos.
I love your design, it looks so clean and minimalistic but very classy at the same time. Also I really enjoy your style of editing, the soft music you use gets along well with your slow and focussed pace. Keep up the awesome work!
You answered my question in the last segment - whether the three points make the table unstable. But it sounds like it doesn't for normal use. Love it.
+IV Woodworking Thee contact points don't necessarily make it more stable (as in it isn't more sturdy or strong.) The advantage that it does have is that it is easier to balance. With 4 legs, if not balanced, two of the legs will always be on the ground, while the table could wobble back and forth between the other two legs. With 3 legs, all 3 will always be on the ground, no matter how much human error there was in making them.
This is glorious, been searching for "woodworking plans fishing rod holder" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Yiyli Yeyavid Booster - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my friend got excellent success with it.
I've become very picky about the online content I watch nowadays. I don't want to just be inspired by the piece being made, but by the video itself as well. You hit it out of the park on both counts. Thanks for sharing!
That is lovely, Chris. I had a dude buy a custom guitar from me with very few requests, trusting me to build him something cool. It is a nice feeling indeed.
I've been doing some "amateur" woodwork for a wile. And I just envy you man. Not only for the amazing quality but for the patience that It looks you have... Go ahead with more videos! Saludos from Argentina!
As a student industrial product design and video production enthousiast I really appreciated this video. I really like the trapezoid design and use of walnut wood. Keep up the good work! Can't wait what you're going to make next time!
That is honestly one of the most beautiful pieces of furniture I have ever seen. I wouldn’t mind having the wood pieces scaled up and doubled to make for a awesome looking glass top desk
I've never watched a woodworking video that almost brought me to tears; I can't claim that anymore. This was a beautiful video. Everything from the table to the narration was perfectly done. Bravo.
Hey Nicholas...thanks! Now I'm picturing somebody walking in on your watching the video and just balling your eyes out. They'd probably pass for a second, back out of the room, close the door and think "Damn...that guy really loves coffee tables."
haha...Thanks Jake. It's funny. I get comments from people saying too much glue, and not enough glue - often on the same video. I always take that to mean that I'm using just the right amount :)
Cannot wait to get out of college and start doing this kind of stuff. though i'm in england and the safety laws prevent me from using the table saw to make things a lot easier. this is SO the kind of thing i want to do. thanks for making these videos and making the commentary very informative. i love it
for home use there are no limitations (I think by law at least, we don't have one at college). but for business use there must be a riving knife on one, I'll be going by what college has taught me and by how the dimension and rip saws are set up. so these saws we have at college by law must have a crown guard that cover 3 teeth and their gullets and also must have a riving knife at a maximum distance of 8 millimetres away from the saw blade. so obviously the crown guard bit is what limits me the most in this, as it's impossible to cut the Dados as the teeth of the blade needs to be covered with a guard. I'd think I'll just have to put more of a hand-made aspect into my work which I'm not fussed about. But in all fairness the laws in place make working on these huge machines a lot safer as its damn near impossible to get your fingers near any blades.
Great video!! I've got a customer like Pam, she found me through mutual friends on Facebook, asked for a decorative little step ladder. Built it for her, she loved it, a year later and I've done 4 or 5 different things for her now and she's always happy with them, very easy to please. We all need more customers like that!
Chris i found your channel a couple months ago,i really enjoy your episodes the filming, soundtrack, and most of all you do beautiful work, thank you for sharing all the best to you and yours
That is amazing work. The production quality and flow of the video is spot on. Thanks for sharing. In my country, all furniture are factory made, it is very refreshing to see custom made furniture
+Chris Salomone GREAT! Please throw in some SketchUp "tips and tricks" for those of us gifted with three mouse thumbs and a broken CTRL key. You make using that program look so smooth. I know I'm not the only one that found that last video rather impressive. I look forward to it!
Patience, precision and talent are the equation of perfection and you have them all.... Perfect piece of art. I used to watch your vids like twice some times 3 times. You are a master. Keep it up.
This has to be the finest bit of woodworking and cinematography I've seen on RUclips. Really well done Chris. Its like Wes Anderson just made a woodworking video the way you framed some of your shots. Enough film geek stuff. Outstanding design. I've got some sketches lost somewhere that I was reminded of while watching this and I need to dig them out and revisit. Thanks for the great inspiration.
I really like your methodical and measured approach to your builds. I can't wait for your next video. Your design and craftsmanship are as good as any I have seen.
I have to say this is pretty classy stuff. Almost therapeutic and very soothing to watch. An interesting voice you have and top-notch editing makes this a must watch. I watched all you videos in one go. Excellent work. What I also like is that the furniture you make has a European feel to it and actually looks very good. As opposed to some of the other stuff your (very) talented US colleagues make. But that's a matter of taste. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I am addicted to your videos . your calm demeanor and relaxed way of explaining things just makes it very calming and motivating to watch. Keep up the incredible work. You push us to new heights more than you know.

dude - your videos are awesome. humour, art, solid woodworking, and education... love the soundtracks, love the style. keep it up - i'm really looking forward to seeing your channel grow
just love the light weight of Ur desings, so airy and stable at the same time, fantastic balance between every angle and line of this beauty, great choice of materials matching so well. The video composition is a cherry on this delicious cake U served us. Thank U for that. Best regards from Poland.
This channel has gorgeous videos. I don't know why, but they're incredible. It's got that perfect mix of intellectual explanation of the piece, where you can see the process through. And it's got an incredibly sensual and relaxing feel. Fantastic work.
There's nothing like a crisp modern design in walnut. I would've added silicone pads to hold the glass top in place. I used to own a coffee table with very similar construction (wood base, glass top), and it had silicone pads glued to the base, which were insanely grippy under the weight of the glass. If you bumped into the table, the whole thing would move before the top thought about sliding. This motivates me to get back into the workshop. Here I am talking about what I would do, when I should probably just be actually doing it.
+Dustin Hern Thanks Dustin! It will sit on some pads. It just didn't in the video. And to be honest, even without them, the entire table will tip/slide before the glass slides off. Now get out there and build! :)
The design and outcome were beautiful! I wished I could get you a pane of low iron glass instead - I think the lighter bluish hue would work better with the walnut. Good luck and looking forward to more videos!
I'm always confused about glass. Ideally, I'd like to find something with a gray edge that wasn't super tinted...but I can never seem to find that sweet spot. If you understand glass, I'd love an education.
Clean and nice. Your videos alway makes me understand why we consider woodworking the zen of western people. I love the way you "design" in the meaning of project methodology. Waiting for your next job...btw music is fantaastic! Hello from Italy.
+christian buzio Thanks Christian...appreciate that. If you like the music, I put a link to my buddy's music page in the video description. He is the one that did the guitar work. Hi from the U.S.!
Really loving your work, sir. Glad to see another dad moment as well. Your editing style, music choices, and the quality of your work really come together beautifully. Keep up the great work.
+Lorenzo Francisco Thanks Lorenzo! Yeah, I'm wondering if it will end up being a recurring theme. I'm not gonna try to make it happen, but if he wanders in, I'll include it. Breaks things up and keeps it interesting.
It reminds me a lot of when my son comes into the garage while I'm working too (cars for me, not wood). It's a good way to break away from work and remember to be human. :-)
+Nicolas Deault Nicholas...thank you so much. I love hearing that. Big thank you to Bob for spreading the word. I'm subscribed to their channel on my personal account. Love it!
Chris I love your work not only for your woodworking design, but also for the clean, crisp and concise videography. I know you will have growing support in the days and videos to come. Cheers. Jeff
the table looks great. impressive.im new at woodworking have a decent shop but lack the skills. .you explain things very well thank you so much , looking forward to future projects
+Nick Praas Thanks Nick! I appreciate the compliment and the sub! When you finish and defend your thesis, if they give you any grief...just show them one of my videos and they'll understand :)
Sir, I really like the way you make some woodwork. You teach us not only to complete directly the work but you tells us also the problems, options, decisions, possibilities and many more. Its like we are there making that stuff. Thanks Sir.

That's awesome man. What about all of the SketchUp/3D design stuff? That adds so much to your videos.
That was just all on my own time. i have fun with that kind of stuff, so I've spent hours and hours doing it.
Nice. How do you make the models have that look? Looks awesome.
I export the 2d images to photoshop and do some work in there. blending layers, etc...

mmmm. applying that finish to walnut.. just beautiful. well done nice build.
haha...yup. That one always gets people :)
I really like walnut. It was America's response to Danish teak.
Walnut is to Teak as Football (American) is to Soccer....maybe? :)
Chris Salomone
The furniture of Jens Risom is a perfect example.
Walnut is the bees knees
Bees Knees... i heard that word from School Of Rock movie. Jack Black. :D

Chris you have talent to work, commendable. We admire its products

Thank you sir.
This was the first video I saw, and it popped back up on my feed. I love how your style has evolved but not changed. Stay true to yourself!
Cannot wait to get out of college and start doing this kind of stuff. though i'm in england and the safety laws prevent me from using the table saw to make things a lot easier. this is SO the kind of thing i want to do. thanks for making these videos and making the commentary very informative. i love it
Thanks Revilo! I've heard about that. I think they have a shorter arbor, so you can't use a dado stack. What other sort of limitations?
for home use there are no limitations (I think by law at least, we don't have one at college). but for business use there must be a riving knife on one, I'll be going by what college has taught me and by how the dimension and rip saws are set up. so these saws we have at college by law must have a crown guard that cover 3 teeth and their gullets and also must have a riving knife at a maximum distance of 8 millimetres away from the saw blade. so obviously the crown guard bit is what limits me the most in this, as it's impossible to cut the Dados as the teeth of the blade needs to be covered with a guard. Nice contemporary design, Chris. Great relaxed pace on the video. Only wish that you showed more of the design process or SketchUp.

Hey Pascal. Thank you...glad you found me and binge watched all of my videos! Really appreciate the comment, and greetings from the U.S. :)
I like how you used those little standoff feet on the bottom to turn the table into a 3 point stand to keep everything from rocking. Very clever.
Heck yeah! Can't beat 3 points of contact.
This piece is very neat. It looks like from every angle you can see a cross in the design.
Yeah, you kind of can
your work is beautiful and your videos are cinematic gems

Thanks Willow. I basically drew out the shape and took it to a glass shop. They cut it out for me.

This motivates me to get back into the workshop. Here I am talking about what I would do, when I should probably just be actually doing it.
+Dustin Hern
Thanks Dustin! It will sit on some pads. It just didn't in the video. And to be honest, even without them, the entire table will tip/slide before the glass slides off.
Now get out there and build! :)
Everything about your videos and your work is wonderful. Your organic approach to the production of your videos is fantastic. Thank you for sharing!
And thank you for watching Steve :)
loving your work - really appreciate all the care that goes into making videos that are as attractive as the finished products!
+pugger
Thanks Pugger! Glad you are enjoying and appreciative of the work!
+Chris Salomone yeah! super into it, can't wait to see more.
Thanks. Just seeing it now. For some reason it got flagged as "Likely Spam" but I'll read it as soon as I get to my desk.
Clean and nice. Your videos alway makes me understand why we consider woodworking the zen of western people.
I love the way you "design" in the meaning of project methodology.
Waiting for your next job...btw music is fantaastic!
Hello from Italy.
+christian buzio
Thanks Christian...appreciate that. If you like the music, I put a link to my buddy's music page in the video description. He is the one that did the guitar work. Hi from the U.S.!
The smoothest woodworking channel on youtube so far. don´t let the oncoming fame get you!
I'll stay humble. In fact, maybe I'll get a vanity plate for my Ferrari that says that "HUMBLE1"
Really loving your work, sir. Glad to see another dad moment as well. Your editing style, music choices, and the quality of your work really come together beautifully. Keep up the great work.
+Lorenzo Francisco
Thanks Lorenzo!
Bob Clagett from "I like to make stuff" sent me.. Worth it! Subscribed!
+Nicolas Deault
Nicholas...thank you so much. I love hearing that. Big thank you to Bob for spreading the word. I'm subscribed to their channel on my personal account. Love it!
Beautiful video and table, man! The narration reminds me of a cross between Frank Howarth and This American Life.
+Shawn Freeborn
Haha...Thanks! Definitely an NPR vibe. Soft talking close to the microphone in a very quiet room.
Beautiful Coffee Table
+irosha ki
Thanks Irosha. And ironically...I don't even drink coffee!
Chris Salomone you’re welcome
I found the link to the oil in another video. Thanks for generously sharing your work and experience :)

+D Edwards
Thanks D...glad you enjoyed, and glad you found me as well!
Awesome work. I really love the design and you put a lot of detail and work into your pieces which is something a lot of people have lost track of.
+westcoastartist69
Thanks! I appreciate your appreciation :)
Your videos are my favorites to watch!!! Between your demeanor and skill with angles, it's very nice to watch!!!
Thanks Kenneth. Appreciate it
Great design reminiscent of a late 50’s or 60’s piece.
Usually made from teak. This walnut & glass looks sleek. 👍🏻
Hey...you rhymed!!!
I've actually never used Teak. It's so expensive around here. So I stay away.

+Nick Praas
Thanks Nick! I appreciate the compliment and the sub! When you finish and defend your thesis, if they give you any grief...just show them one of my videos and they'll understand :)
