Love how much progress this car has made since I first seen it.
Thanks Friend!
Thanks for the paint progress update. Slow and steady wins the race. I can't wait to see the color!
You and me both!
You have a fantastic attitude and work ethic! Fantastic role model!
Thanks David!
Wow, i did not expect you to literally do a full paintjob in your garage. I thought you were going to get some professional help or something. This project is amazing keep up the good work💪
Thanks Friend!
That intro went hard. It’s been really cool to follow your build! Fantastic work keep it up
Thanks Friend!
Wow I hope it can be done for the ElectricFest! Can’t wait to see that episode!
I need to perform under pressure! 🤞
I’ve done a fare share of spraying and from what I can see it looks like you’re doing a really good job, especially for your first time and not having someone right there helping you along. The only advice I have is be super diligent keeping your gun clean, getting in the habit of spraying whatever solvent you’re using through as often as possible. Have an extra hopper available with just your solvent in it, so you can do quick changes from paint or primer to your solvent and back again. This is the best way to keep your gun clean and working properly. Okay you got it👍
Perfect! Thanks for the suggestion!
I've been following this build from the very start (because I've always liked the K1) and I'm not just wishing you good luck, I want to see this car turn out to be phenomenal!!
It's what you deserve after all your hard work. The attention to detail and the efford you've put into this project is incredible. You rank up there with renowned (custom) car builder like Chip Foose and the late Boyd Coddington!!
Thanks Friend!
Glad you had a help sanding with your twin brother..
Yes, he has been a big help along the way
Nice work man and you are on the home stretch. Interested to see what color you have picked.
So close!
Looking great. Can't wait for the next installment.
Thanks Tim!
And we are finally there. Can't wait to see what color you go with? Also, kudos again for the courage. You should be called the Electric SuperCar Balls of Steel Channel. Lol. Congrats and good luck.
LOL!! 🤣🤣
Good luck with painting. What a task to do yourself...
So awesome! I love seeing the work inside the paint booth! Can’t believe how it is coming together!
It has been a joy watching the car come to life and moving very very very close to being all ready and painted
Never been closer 🤞
Been following you from day one. Amazing I always try and do my own modifications and stuff in my cars. Nothing beats doing your own stuff. You have taken this to the next level. Respect fella from England
Thanks Friend!
Great channel buddy 👍 I wait like an excited child for the next upload! Love how you want everything just right and go the extra to improve and modify the bits your not happy with. Hats off to you sir, I understand how much time a planning goes into projects like this and it’s great to see you taking on everything yourself 👌 You should be very proud of what you’ve achieved. Keep up the good work, can’t wait to see it finished and the big smile across your face.
Thanks Friend! It is great to get some encouragement from viewers like you! 🤗
I kinda liked the white, but I'm interested to see what it will look like!
Yellow might be cool since it's electric.
Or a lightning ⚡ McQueen skin hahah
Next episode should have the color
You should write on the sides "All by myself!"💪 Looking good 💪
LOL! 🤣🤣
Very nicely done, Jeremy! The primer looks just right-and it is designed to let you sand and perfect the surface before the color coat…I’ve always fully sanded all primer. Primer is not only good for the car, it’s a primer for you, too-it gives you experience in how to mix, filter, and adjust the gun and how to put down a coating before trying it with paint. I think you did things exactly right by starting with a few components that aren’t seen that much-I’d do the same with the paint. Keep in mind that paint flows differently than the primer-but with a little practice, it’ll be terrific. Don’t rush-I know you’re under the gun to attend the EV event, but rushing and not having time to make it right are the enemy of a great paint job. Just my two cents worth, you’re doing very well, can’t wait to see the finished product! -Don
Thanks Don!
You certainly deserve props for taking on the painting; but it’s in line with your learn by trying trajectory of creating Wattson. So not a big surprise.
However, I think we need to give your wife mad props for her patience and support through all this. Hats off.
No doubt! I have the best pit crew!
It's looking super so far. Didn't hear the color reveal yet. Maybe next week?
Yes! Next episode. 🤞
Stay tuned!
Looking good! Best to use a guide coat and sand everything again. Depends on what paint you use how fine of paper to finish with and a sealer is a good idea too. Painting all the jams first reassembling and doing complete car works best. Good luck
Thanks for the suggestion! I will plan to sand
This is coming on amazingly well!
As always, well done!
Thanks buddy!
You could paint the bottom part in the front grey
Been watching from the beginning. Very inspiring and great persistence! Man, looked like you were melting in that paint suit and your gloves filling with water. I wish I had your drive! 😁
Yes, very hot with the paint suit and gloves!
Awesome videos, great content man!
Thanks Friend!
Good job 👏
Thanks Friend!
Damnn even the primer looks good! 🔥 "PS1 Gray"
I know...right!?!
Looking good, I didnt see a comment on nozzle size but primer tends to like a 1.7/1.8 nozzle instead of the 1.3 because of its thicker viscosity. Maybe check with the manufacturer to see if they make a Needle/Nozzle kit for your gun. Excited to see the final color!!
Thanks for the comment!
Thanks!
Some say that the “ design build” process is more fun than the drive part, your thoughts? We are going to be in your part of the world this September 18th. Been included in this years Barrett-Jackson Road tour and one of our stops is Dave Kindigs shop, are you close to him? Yes absolutely sand all of the primed parts. You might have to re-prime a few areas.
Agree, depending on the project. “The journey is the reward.” -Steve Jobs
I will plan to sand the primered parts. The shop is 20 min away from me
@@ElectricSuperCar as soon as I know what day we will be there I will let you know. Thank You
@@ElectricSuperCar Hi we got to Daves Shop September 19th hope to see you there??
Two posts, in the future look at the 3/4” PVC drier using plastic pipe. It really works you can find how to build on RUclips.
any plans of performance testing your car? like top speed/0-60/drag racing/braking distances/skid pad. or even letting a pro/semi pro driver do a hot lap on a track? But then be prepared to receive a bunch of feedback about tuning handling/ braking/throttle response/regen etc 😤
also it could be super rewarding (hopefully not disappointing) to have cold unbiased numbers
..or just have fun and trust your butt Dyno, whatever's your choice!
Yes, I am going to Sonoma Raceway for drag racing, autocross, and 3s. Hopefully it passes tech inspection 🤞
@@ElectricSuperCar Awesome, looking forward to it
What windshield glass are you running? Hope it’s something that is on a traditional car and not a custom piece
It is from a '93 - '97 honda accord
Let's go
✌️
nice attention to details as usual...it seems like there is always something you'll want to improve 🤣 probably a good thing you move on to electric supercar #2 at some point! I'm sure you'll get much closer to the desired quality in way less time with everything you learned.
are you happy with the results regarding how "finished" the result is?
I will tell you next week when the painting is done
Looking good - have you revealed the color yet?
Coming next episode. Stay tuned!
Can’t wait - and if it’s not Porsche Miami Blue, I’ll still find a way to love it anyway 😂
I'm new to the channel. Is there a video on all the specs of the car, like the 0-60, range, time it takes to charge etc, or is it too early in the process to determine those figures. I'm debating if I should do an electric car build or get two hayabusa engines and turn it into a high revving v8. Nice build!
I did some 0-60 times with Zack

@@ElectricSuperCar Thank you!
have you tested it for leakage for when you're driving it in the rain
Not yet
Have you announced color yet? I haven’t seen it yet
Coming next episode. Stay tuned!
I'd honestly probably have a mental breakdown with all the little things. I got stressed out doing rust repair a few weeks ago on my van and just painted over the rust in frustration.. RUclips had me thinking this sanding thing is easy.. It's not.
Very time consuming!
I would guess that you're going with yellow, but you bought yellow masking tape... which would not work with yellow paint... hmm 🤔 type of blue maybe?
Unlikely. His accent colors are yellow and black (wheels, carbon fiber bits and voids). You'd want a color that blends body gaps and transitions without overwhelming the styling. Next, it won't be too exotic as he plans on doing it himself and he Is practical, so no metallics, custom tinting etc.
Is ya da brotha of Tony Hawk ?
This is what I do now after my skateboarding career 🤣
powered guide coat is way better
I am interested in your experience. I have heard some say the dry powder gums up sandpaper. Thoughts?
@@ElectricSuperCar I have only ever bought one container and its been awesome, No clogging at all. It covers the whole work area and shows every imperfection. It even works wet sanding. If your intereted ill get the brand name tomorrow.
@@nosaint01 that would be awesome! Let me know
@@ElectricSuperCar italko puder kontrolny. Aka guide coat, but I’m sure 3m would be good as well
Haven’t heard from you after the email i sent to you.
I responded yesterday. Let me know if you did not receive it
yeah... preparations are the worst... 80% preps and 20% paint job...
More like 98% :) but with customers I don't push it, I'll say 80-90.
Sounds about right. For me it was 95% prep and 5% paint
Please,, dont White,, another color..
Like a prototipe..
It will not be white
Could just be me but I'd greatly prefer if you didn't release an episode until *something* concrete is complete. In this case, the paint is applied, even if it's a few coats away from perfect. As it stands it's kind of like "what was the point of watching that". Just my 2c.
Thanks for the suggestion
Damn bitter!!! You can fast forward!
This prep and primer is the key to a good paint job , I'd rather see this , Vs one really long video trying to fit everything in.
@@RUclipsHero666 no it’s constructive feedback, he’s going to get better engagement if he follows a strong payoff model. I love this project and follow closely but a resolution is important to making content feel worth while, even if it’s a small resolution.
Hey, no hard feelings here mate, you gave your two cents and here are mine. Your non contentious assertion is likely to not be well received. Many here are grateful for the honest step by step updates. The clear titling of said videos sets up realistic expectations. If we don't want to watch we don't have to. Viewership metrics allow the creator to strike the best balance between what's really important to them. In my mind these videos are perfect. There's a plethora of videos from independent and commercial entities that just don't go into the details or are pure fakery and deception. The entire "kit car" industry actually depends on this, as most projects are never completed. This gentleman is actually doing a public service in this regard. I understand that you want progress, but this is progress. In the real world we can't get projects to actually go as planned. Perhaps as a protective measure our brains hide the actual amount of work we have to do from our conscious to help us mitigate fatigue. In this respect we maintain the right balance of optimism to achieve our goals. Happens to me all the time, even with something I've done a hundred times. He's not purposely leading anyone on. No click bait. This man is a hero.
