in the end the musicians have to feed their families somehow. there must be a blend of selling for profit and vocalizing their beliefs together, unless the artist(s) don't care about turning music into a profit.

Wrong. The bass player for the Subhumans(Canada) along with 4 others tried to blow up a place that had something to do with missiles...and yes, they are a great band as well.

@dolliesunset sorry for piling on dollie, but music evolves and mutates like an organism. the bands you mentioned more than likely grew up listening to subhumans, circle jerks black flag, fear, ect ect ect. OF COURSE ITS NOT THE SAME. dont let the record sales and the casual listener determine what is punk punk is just a label. when done with passion and something to say and emotes anger in a positive way (at least thats my definition) it could be hip hop polka throat singing for all i care
