The ONLY band in the history of rock and roll to actually do the "unplugged" concept correctly by its definition. Righteous!!! Saw them in Philly in a rathole bar around this time. They were spectacularly ramshackle,a brilliant show. Bought a cd and patch from Merle and sat on a stool next to a slightly incoherent Dean for a few moments. Good times.
I got to do sound for them post GG with Jeff Clayton doing vox it was amazing. Great band.

Anal Cunt did an "unplugged" EP with a live recording of them doing the same stunt (though the A side was a more typical acoustic set).
They sounded like sh!t. GG stank...

I Fuc'n love this!!! It's great to see Merle, Dino, and PP as It's been some time since but I had to cement as True Unplugged! Even the drum set is pre-iron age! So great! One fang I never see mentioned is just the amount of time spent with fans is Killer! To get the few experiences that were as they were is the stuff of Affidavids!!!! W.W.G.G.D!
These dudes lived it. This feels like not a tribute just for gg, but for all of the crusty old punks still scuming around. Brings a tear to the eye. Also GGs gravestone has a great tone might have to go there myself and sample that.

That version of "Bite It You Scum" was so low-key it sounded like the way it would be sung by someone who doesn't have any idea what the song means (like when the Lawrence Welk show did "One Toke Over The Line" and called it a new modern spiritual because it mentions sweet Jesus but they didn't know what a toke was). It was an appropriate performance for a cemetery, don't get me wrong, but that's how it came across to me.

You have NO idea what you're talking about. Ask those of us who KNEW GG and Merle. GG could not STAND his brother, and was pissed that he wanted to be a rockstar in City Thrills, but when nothing came of that, Merle saw GG making a mark and realized he could latch on. That's why from 1980-1988, Merle was no where to be found. In 1993 GG was still playing with The Disappointments, yet because of Merle the parasite and that stupid fucking film Hated, all anyone seems to know about is the 3rd version of the Murder Junkies with Merle, Dino, Chicken and then Bill. Mark Sheehan and ANTiSEEN versions of the Murder Junkies are NEVER mentioned, and THAT'S because Merle wants the recognition. That's why he's selling his shit paintings like anyone gives a FUCK about him. And again, GG is on recordings saying he can't stand his brother, is pissed that he's selling bootlegs of his shows and interviews, and mentions how Merle lived to call him in the hospital and the Ann Arbour stints asking for shit to sell, but never ONCE came to visit GG in prison. Not ONCE. You "fans" are fucking clueless

It’s a prop they made and brought with them. His headstone was taken down and in storage many years. Now in the museum of death. But since his grave isn’t marked they made this for the event.

@@freebee8221 That is a fake tombstone. The real one had gotten taken down years ago because of too many complaints from the community. I went there like six or seven years ago, and it was gone. Someone who knew which plot it was spray painted GG on the flat slab on the ground so other fans knew which one it was. I used to go there a lot before they took it out, and passers by would yell angry stuff out the windows of their cars .
