  • Prague's main railway station was built in an elegant Art Nouveau style between 1901 and 1909 according to the plans of architect Josef Fanta.
The current building is the second to stand on the site, the first one having opened in 1871.
During the 1920s and 30s, the station was named in honor of Woodrow Wilson and referred to as Wilsonovo nádraží, in recognition of his role in the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918.
This film shows regular railway operations at the station in spring 2020, including a large variety of different passenger and freight trains. There's a vibrant mix of diesel traction and electric motive power from the passenger operators ČD, RegioJet and Arriva.
