I love this watch!!! I have to tell you that for years I have wanted a two-tone datejust and I got my wish last year. But I have been looking at a two-tone Sub for sometime and it was always the Black and Yellow instead of the Blue and Yellow. But my wife remarked at how the Blue and Yellow really made her notice and I get it. Now I am looking at this watch more and more. Seeing your reaction and the way you talk about this watch confirms more and more that it's the one I want and I am actively saving for it. I don't think I will buy it retail though. I will most likely get it pre-owned through a grey market dealer.
Just picked one of these up a few weeks ago and I love it! Traded a 36mm DateJust and a Turn-O-Graph for it. The Bluesy is my Holy Grail watch so this one’s a keeper. Plus once you start thinking 36mm is too small it’s time for that upgrade! 🙏🏿
Hi, i was thinking of getting one, it would be my first rolex. I don't know prices well, but when i went to an official dealer they said the price was 17,5k €. Is it normal? Because every video i check syays arround 14 to 15k
Recently, I sold my two tone blue submariner. It was a 1994 model that I bought used in 2007 for under $4,000. I enjoyed wearing it to restaurants and special occasions. Traded in for a 2020 two tone blue Submariner. Got $7,500 for my trade. The watch was a bit beat up. I'm very happy with the newer Submariner. What a difference in the two watches. Cannot wait to wear it. Your opinion was spot on concerning your watch. Thank-you! My everyday watch is a Stainless steel Breitling with a rubber strap that I bought in 2005. Pretty dependable.
in 2005 I had the choice between a brand new submariner steel with black face (retail $3,000 I think) or a 2 week old blue, two tone for $4500 (retail $6,000 I think). I picked the latter.
👍s up for your great review. I’ve purchased a V serial 2009 ‘Bluesy’ this week with the Flat Blue ‘Smurf’ Dial, partially stickered & unworn, from a reputable local Ex-Rolex 🇬🇧 AD (they were the original supplier of the watch who had just bought it back from a regular client of theirs). I had been considering adding a ‘Bluesy’ to my collection for years & slightly preferred the ‘Smurf’ dial. Apart from missing ‘Hang Tags’ it was complete with a blank undated warranty card & original box. As the ‘Smurf’ dial was only in production for 3 years & I was really pleased to find one in such condition. I’ve worn the watch continually now for 72 hours & was delighted to find it well within COSC specification (it has gained less than 3 seconds)
I've got the same blusey model, ive had it for 10 years, it's the best watch that ive ever had, the cape cod cleaning cloth i highly recommend for polishing out hairline scratches,
Finally. Dude u got hold of the popular models😲. Congrats👏. I love the 2tone bluesy. Ppl have mixed reaction on the new changes done to 2020 models but i think they are nice. I also like the 2020 op 41mm in silver dial. Take us along to ur ad for ur next purchase✌️
Hi how are you jamey what do you think about the submariner two tone in black and gold 2022? Do you think is worth 15900 dollars will it hold its value in time? Let me know thanks
Great review! This honestly helped me a lot. I’ve been trying to decide between the yacht master two tone platinum and the sub two tone gold. I think I’m going to get the bluesy
Finally I got my bluesy 2 days ago 😊! Damn, this timepiece is unbelievable elegant and timeless regardless of what you wearing on a day. If I will ever to choose between the Sub SS or bluesy… id still prefer bluesy due to unique color especially when lights strike to it. So happy to my bluesy as well 🥂
I don’t care that collectors and flippers only want the all steel Rolex sports watches. The two tone bluesy is the most beautiful watch ever made. To me, men always are better looking when wearing one. I have two Datejusts but that is the next watch on my list even if it’s too large for my tiny wrist.
Really nice overview and I agree with your assessment. I bought this model in Aug 2019. There could've been a Hulk there and the Bluesy still would've left on my wrist. I bought what I wanted. The Bluesy is an icon, it screams Rolex. Some have a hard time with that, I get it. But I embrace it. I too, prefer the gold lettering and old model sunburst dial. One thing to note, it's really cool how the Bluesy dial changes colors in different lightings, from dark inside to lightning blue outside. I just love wearing this out in the sun. The added weight from 18K is nice too vs my 114060. The Bluesy feels like a relic from King Tut's tomb.
Thank you! The bluesy is such an iconic design. It’s really just the perfect combo of the right blue and yellow gold. The sunburst dial just puts it over the top. I remember seeing a flat dial bluesy at one point and it’s just not the same.
@@JameyKocan I agree. The new sunburst dial looks like a different shade of blue. Judging by pics, I like the 116613lb but need to see the 126613lb in the metal to compare. I'm kind of glad I got the old model with the bulletproof 3135.
@@genesultry6447 This two tone is actually my first Rolex with yellow gold. The two tone band with that sunburst blue dial really makes it pop!!! You will be amazed at how much attention it attracts!!! The watch I wore daily previously was a stainless dated Sub. I got more attention with the Blue Dial sub in one month than I did in 20 years with the stainless sub!!! Good luck in getting yours - it is worth the wait and you will not regret it!
I have the new version of this watch and pictures and video just do not capture the true color of this watch. You nailed the description. The watch gives you an awesome feeling just looking at it on your arm.
Great video and appreciate the honestly. For the price point, It’s hard deciding between the 116710ln and 116613lb due to the potential future value of SS vs TT. Agree the bluesy is classic though!
Happy you enjoyed the video! I agree with you when looking at stainless vs two tone. Long term value is in the stainless but if purchasing on secondary market, it’s also tough when considering payment close to same amount for stainless as the two tone. That’s why I think in the end, you go with what you want and put future value to the side (within reason)
Just bought it at dealer for $15,600 yesterday morning in California. It just came in and I happened to be walking the mall and drop in. So this is the Bluesy? Gorgeous, had no clue.
I've a 16613 Bluesy.. love it & while beautiful these watches are designed to be worn & are punishable (within reason) as 904L is exceptionally hard & highly corrosion resistant..I wear daily & enjoy it outside work hours..
I bought the 116613LB in august 2020 right before the 41mm model came out. I still like it but there is a little regret that I didn’t get the newest model although I probably would not have been able to get one. Without a long wait
Great review. I bought my Batman in January of 2014 right when they released and almost never take it off. They are amazing tools and are worth every penny.
Jamey Kocan I got really lucky. It wasn’t as hyped up yet and the steel ceramic sports didn’t have wait lists at the time. It probably helped I lived in a smaller city too so our dealer wasn’t as backed up.
Just picked up the 2 tone sub from my AD, but I don't fancy it as a daily (originally wanted SS). Should I sell or keep longer-term and bring it out on occasions?
I thought the same thing initially. The gold with the blue is super flashy but after wearing it a bit I became more comfortable in casual settings. I think it looks really good when dressed super casually and then have this pop of blue and gold 🤩
I just got me a 41mm bluesy. I m so I love with the watch. I originally wanted a 41mm datejust two tone with diamond dial, but some how this bluesy keep calling for me.
Take steady hand and any Dremel shave down that case on all 4 corners. You will have piece you will enjoy looking at. Grin from ear to ear. Older models case and band were equal smaller watch
Total agree … I have my name down at AD for the 41mm. I also had Hulk and like you regret selling too early but hey. I doubled my money from retail but still makes you feel ..ugh! The Hulk was nice at the time but compared to this I think the Bluesey wins hands down. I sold my Hulk and Daytona and looking forward to acquiring. Thanks for the vid.
I turned down a Hulk 4 years ago at the AD because I hated it. With hindsight I should have bought it of course, but not to wear it. I bought the TT Bluesy in 2020, latest ref 126613lb. Such an astonishing dial. Feels amazing on the wrist.
I remember when the dealers couldn’t get rid of the Hulk so they were discounting. Makes me wonder if once the discontinue hype wears down it will stay as valuable. Any noticeable difference with the 41mm?
@@JameyKocan Indeed, not only dealers struggled but also private sellers would sell the Hulk below €6k where I live back in 2016, mint box & papers. With regards to the new TT Bluesy, it has the small advantage of showing less glare on the crystal with the AR treatment underneath, so you can appreciate the dial a bit better. I find it easier to read and photograph. The enlarged clasp is a minus to me, the previous one was big enough. I have average 7.2in/18cm wrists (2.75in /7cm span) and that clasp looks huge. Increased power reserve is nice and goes up to 72.5 hours according to my observations. Problem is accuracy drops off a cliff in the last 24 hours, resulting in -12s/d if not worn over 3 days, if that matters to you. That brings me to another problem with the 3235. I got a SD43 in 2017 which ran great at first and now it's at -6s/d. There seems to be a fault in some 3235s, the seconds hand pinion suffers from unexpected friction damaging the part, causing the drag. There's no permanent fix for it. RSC change the part and lubricate, until you're out of warranty and the problem shows up again. So I'm a little bit wary with the new movement. This problem has been documented in TRF. Hopefully Rolex will get it fixed soon. Maybe the latest 3235 has been revised and sorted out, we'll see. I personally slightly prefer the white text on the dial, but it's not a big deal. The redesigned lugs echo the 5 digit Sub and this feature combined with the wider bracelet is visually more pleasing to me. All in all Jamey, I don't think it's worth swapping the 116613b for the 126613lb as this would cost you several thousands with a dealer, which to me outweighs the benefits. Take care, Victor
Three time zone GMT Root Beer is a more complicated movement and has a potential to have a higher premium although the Bluesy might be a more partial watch if you don’t travel. Either one should be sought after by any enthusiasts.
You had me until you said fly under the radar! Ha. Bluesy is a bling bling model! I love it as well. Explorer 1 is a stealth Rolex - not a single comment on it.
Did you prefer the Flat Blue ‘Smurf’ dial? I’ve purchased a V serial 2009 ‘Bluesy’ this week with the Flat Blue ‘Smurf’ Dial, partially stickered & unworn, from a reputable local Ex-Rolex 🇬🇧 AD (they were the original supplier of the watch who had just bought it back from a regular client of theirs). @@macrolex9485 It’s funny because everybody complained about the flat blue when it first came out on the forum. Rolex listened and went back to the starburst dial. Now that the flat blue is not readily available it’s all the rage again. Between the two I prefer the flat blue. With that being said though I bought the black dial when it first came out.Congrats on your purchase.
@@clarkgwozdecki6782 I think the ‘Smurf’ dial just combines a bit better with the bezel for me. The black & gold combo’s looks great as well - I’ve been seriously considering the Rolesor Sea-Dweller.
It’s a great watch, distinctive and visually appealing and versatile, but…please, one point of disagreement. This watch, most definitely, does not fly under the radar.
I could have gotten the all gold but it's way too flashy and you can't really wear it as a sports watch. This one got my attention more because it's sporty and luxurious at the same time so I got the 126613LB Bluesy Rolex Submariner and I love it because I can wear it with anything, suit and tie or casual T-shirt and shorts and people know what it is from a mile away.
I just bought one today. Does your clasp have a lot of scratches? Do you take it off when you type on your work computer? I just don’t want it to get scratched up.
Congrats on the watch! The clasp is where I find the most scratches on my watch. I will say that I don't wear my watch when I am typing on the computer. I find it to be uncomfortable, and would definitely lead to many more scratches
I currently own the same GMT black on black and the Bluesy as you have at the moment. Wear them in the rotation and absolutely happy with both of them. The Bluesy I purchased in August 2020 and that time I was actually choosing between the Hulk and a Bluesy itself and Hulk didn't speak to me)) a bit mixed feelings about loosing an opportunity to raise some money on the Hulk, though that time it already was a well-known fact, that the Hulk gonna be discontinued. Anyway I chose the blue over green)) and really happy about that, no regrets) Also, I don't like the look of the all brushed bracelet, so neither regular black Sub, no Hulk doesn't appeal to me. Any regrets selling GMT? Would you purchase it again? Another thing I want to flag is that GMT wears much nicer as it has slimmer case back profile, it hugs wrist just perfectly fine, where Sub is less comfortable I would stay)) Have you noticed any difference in wearing experience when switching from the GMT to the Sub? Cheers, good review, approve every word said.
Thank you for the kind words! When looking at the GMT I would say that I regret it as the value has gone up so much since it was discontinued. I find the sub to wear a little easier mainly because the numbers on the bezel are not as large on the sub. I think in wearing I more so noticed the size of the clasp being bigger on the sub and how it sat on my wrist compared to the GMT. Prior to buying the bluesy I had the opportunity to purchase the root beer but I couldn't get on board with that color. Ultimately, I feel like value is always going to be there with Rolex so mainly purchase what you like and try to not look back at watches sold in the past because in most instances they will be worth more than when you got rid of them.
new bluesy is too beautiful original I tried to wear it to work but I realize it's way to shiny... go back to explore 1 and wear the bluesy in my own leisure time man, can't have enough of it so so beautiful....
See this is my dilemma. I’m looking for a new everyday watch (for work mostly) I have a two tone sky dweller and is just to flashy for work with the fluted bezel. I love two tone because the other jewellery I wear ( my wedding band) is yellow gold. I know the all steel sea dweller or Sub would be perfect for work but I like my gold!!
The 2020 in your review is misleading because that is when the latest model came out. That is the review I am looking for. Not interested in your previous gen.
Worth can be subjective. But in this instance, I can sell the watch for what I paid for it 2 years after use, so you could say that it is worth it 🤷🏻♂️
So wrong in the 21st century for people to spend that kind of money on something as shallow as a watch when everywhere you look now, there's homeless people and refugees who can't even afford to buy a drink. Brands like this belong in the 20th century and are so vulgar. My opinion is that a person who wears this vulgarity is both selfish and very shallow. Again, my opinion but also from seeing the world.
I'm 66 and started work at 16, I've worked my nuts off in the pissing rain, driving snow, boiling heat. Worked 18 hr shifts to get heavy machinery running again, brought up a family and paid off a mortgage.. I think I've earned rhe right to do what i want with my money. My not buying my watches won't do anything to save the world's poor.
These are actually great investments. Buying items that you love, that appreciate in value gives happiness to the owner and is responsible with money. If he sells it for a profit and adds that profit to his yearly donations he can help people in need. But some people are closed minded I guess

Take care,
Victor
Love the Bluesy, and great video! How do you think it compares to the TT Rootbeer?
Both are best 2 tons no more to say bro
Three time zone GMT Root Beer is a more complicated movement and has a potential to have a higher premium although the Bluesy might be a more partial watch if you don’t travel. Either one should be sought after by any enthusiasts.
Undoubtedly beautiful watch ! Enjoy it long and strong !!!
Thank you 😀
Hulks are selling for 17k-18k all day depending on condition. Stopping looking at the fake over inflated Chrono 24 prices
Really?!? Well that makes me feel better about it
Nice overview!
Thank you!
You had me until you said fly under the radar! Ha. Bluesy is a bling bling model! I love it as well. Explorer 1 is a stealth Rolex - not a single comment on it.
Bought one of the very first TT ceramic V serial subs when they first came out in 2010 for 8500 bucks. Should have held on to it.
I agree about the color combo..I have such skinny wrists..it wouldn’t look right on me. Congrats
In all honesty, I might be saving to get it. This one is so beautiful.
Lovely watch and good content, thank you. You need a decent mic though, room echo is holding you back here.
Thank you for the kind words and feedback! Been looking for a wireless mic setup 😀
Fantastic review, enjoyed it very much 👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you! Happy you liked it 😀
Bluesy is the GOAT 💙🔥
I just bought one today. Does your clasp have a lot of scratches? Do you take it off when you type on your work computer? I just don’t want it to get scratched up.
Congrats on the watch! The clasp is where I find the most scratches on my watch. I will say that I don't wear my watch when I am typing on the computer. I find it to be uncomfortable, and would definitely lead to many more scratches
I have this one but i have the G-Shock GBDH1000-1A7 55mm i like it more
Why is the black subs grey marker close to 50% increase in retail price? But the bluesy much much less than that?
I have not seen that to be the case
i luv the blue face on rolex submariner watch !!!!
Ultimately, I feel like value is always going to be there with Rolex so mainly purchase what you like and try to not look back at watches sold in the past because in most instances they will be worth more than when you got rid of them.
new bluesy is too beautiful
original I tried to wear it to work
but I realize it's way to shiny...
go back to explore 1 and wear the bluesy in my own leisure time
man, can't have enough of it
so so beautiful....
I hear that! Blessing and curse of the bluesy 🤩 but that makes for more of an occasion when you do put it on the wrist
Since 2020 this Rolex has increased in price from $14,300 to today's $15,600.
That is a 9% increase.....ouch.
I paid $16,600 for my 2021 Two Tone Sea Dweller
Where can I find one for that price 😅
👏👏👏I also own à sub 116613 LB ❤️my bluesy 💪
It is such an unbelievable looking watch 🤩
@@JameyKocan 👍👍😀
How do you feel abt this video today in 2022??! Lol!
Love this
Such a nice watch!
brother from another mother.
Beautiful watch!
Agreed 🤩
Ok, so is it worth $14,300? You never answered the question.
You forgot "Smurf" lol. Nice watch.
Thank you! I refer to the white gold / blue face sub as the smurf
And almost 2 years later the same rolex cost 20.000
Now it’s $15,600
The 2020 in your review is misleading because that is when the latest model came out. That is the review I am looking for. Not interested in your previous gen.
I like the black face
Can't go wrong with either
Really never sell a Rolex
but is it worth it ? $14300 REALLY ??? it's just a watch, what's the purpose of a WATCH? ??
You have good taste.
🤩
No it's not worth it..... Next question
Yes it is
Worth can be subjective. But in this instance, I can sell the watch for what I paid for it 2 years after use, so you could say that it is worth it 🤷🏻♂️
If you didn't buy that watch your house would be furnished
So wrong in the 21st century for people to spend that kind of money on something as shallow as a watch when everywhere you look now, there's homeless people and refugees who can't even afford to buy a drink. Brands like this belong in the 20th century and are so vulgar. My opinion is that a person who wears this vulgarity is both selfish and very shallow. Again, my opinion but also from seeing the world.
You are entitled to your own opinion
I'm 66 and started work at 16, I've worked my nuts off in the pissing rain, driving snow, boiling heat. Worked 18 hr shifts to get heavy machinery running again, brought up a family and paid off a mortgage.. I think I've earned rhe right to do what i want with my money. My not buying my watches won't do anything to save the world's poor.
These are actually great investments. Buying items that you love, that appreciate in value gives happiness to the owner and is responsible with money. If he sells it for a profit and adds that profit to his yearly donations he can help people in need. But some people are closed minded I guess
Why are you interested in watching it then?
There’s always this one guy🤦🏻🤣
