But after peddling all those squale watches. I too fell into TGV'S tactics and thought that squale was a good brand. Thankfully I wasn't the only one and managed to flip the squale without losing.
And now TGV " made it" after climbing up with the help of other RUclips personalities only to turn his back.

In 2009 while on a cruise I walked into a Rolex AD store in Cayman Islands. As I was standing there and admiring this watch they informed me that this was the last watch they had left and the rest of them were new 2010 models which were for sale at much higher price(I believe they were about 9k). By this time I been thinking about purchasing a Rolex watch for about eight years and they did nothing but went up in price every year. The sales lady at the store told me if I was interested in this watch they were willing to sell it for $7100. After consulting with my wife I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the watch. For the next 9 years this was the only watch that I wore. In the last year I got more interested in horology and purchased other watches but this is still my favored. I never had the watch opened, serviced, or polished and it is still keeping good time. For me it’s been a perfect watch whether I am working around the house, at work, or night on the town. All I have to do is rinse it under water and it looks great! Best purchase I ever made.

Tbh i feel a bit alienated by reviews of 10k+ watches. Its a world of luxury i don't inhabit. Congrats if you can afford these type of watches but its the kind of watch that would make me feel self conscious a kind of look at me vibe i dont feel comfortable with. I am super pleased for TGV he is a great guy and i got into watches directly because of him, but i hope this level of ostentation is not the shape of things to come. That’s like saying you don’t want to watch The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly anymore because you know what happens...or getting rid of your vintage album collection because you’ve already heard Abbey Road. I plan on picking up a two tone as soon as my AD calls me, hopefully by mid September for my birthday.

In terms of technical feedback the narration sound could be improved considerably to at least be on a par with your previous setup - maybe it is even the same but it feels and sounds off, almost like you are trying to be quiet in a room or something. Music did not feel invasive to me but being reduced by maybe 40% would not take away from what it adds. I think that there are not enough watch channels out there doing 'on the wrist' in videos beyond a studio shot so the addition of those are nice, I understand growth however the war room should be a mainstay in some way or form - does not have to be every video but that set or a version of it is part of the identity of the channel, the changing backgrounds on the monitors and other bits and bobs. It is part of the character along with roadman Hugo and everything else! Different flavours perhaps for different things who knows. Looking forward to the future videos!

I can't quite put my finger on why, but for some reason the gold minute markers on the aluminum bezel look so much better than the ones on the ceramic, and definitely the non-supercase looks so much better.
As for wanting a no date version, have you considered the Seamaster 300 Two tone (233.20.41.21.01.002), it addresses the nodate, has a much better clasp than the pre-glidelock clasps, and still has a more oldschool vinatage look. Only downside is the thickness though, but could be worth a look.

Since then like yourself my Rolex collection both new & vintage has expanded. But I did make a bad decision in purchasing the all good SUB with the ceramic bezel when it was first released, I have only work it maybe 5 times in all those years as it just doesn't suit me. And naturally the resale on this piece with the demand being solely focused on all the stainless steel models makes it pointless to sell, as the offers I received were so low that I thought I would simply retain it. But I will buy the new two tone SEA DWELLER at Basel this year as the size is perfect for my 7.5" wrist.

I have been bashing the same watch about a bit. A lot of warning about the softer gold vs the SS scratching so easily. So it wouldn't be an everyday watch, but it would be an up tick for finer occasions with that added bit on flash. I have been cautioned about expecting investment growth out of two-tone Sub. But I was think it may become a classic in 20 years. Prefer Black over Bluesey. 👍❤⌚

The Submariner (with the Speedmaster) is one of the keystones of a midrange watch collection (i.e. Watches under 20k). I have some nice divers but the Submariner with a ceramic bezel is next on my list.

I recently acquired a 1991 2-tone oyster bracelet blue dial datejust 16233 and am simply amazed with it. A little more bling than my black 2000 Explorer2 but perfect with jeans or suit, and you can’t beat the comfort of a 36mm. I certainly understand your attraction to the 2-t sub. Enjoy!
And of course, congrats on your new format and adventure.

Greetings from Nairobi, Kenya. I have noticed that you have never (not to my knowledge, anyway) reviewed a vostok. I absolutely love the amphibian scuba dude; I think it's great and I love that it's quite unique. I'd really like to know your thoughts on the scuba dude specifically as a dive watch, and the vostok brand in general! Waiting to hear from you ☺

You've built something special here and this is a wonderful opportunity for you and in the end, your fans are going to appreciate the differences. Personally, I'm not a dive watch person but it's good to know what others think when they are evaluating a watch. Thanks!

The 16613LN can easily be a one-watch collection; particularly for a professional over 40 or so. I only wish there was a quality ceramic bezel insert upgrade available. The aluminum insert gets easily scratched.

If you're now serious about looking towards a little more dressy with gold, I'd switch from looking at the Subs, and look more closely at the Day Date. In my opinion, the subs will always be more casual or sporty looking because of their actual design (even with the two-tone gold). Looking forward to seeing the gold Day Date on your wrist.

I have the cousin watch to this, 16753 2-tone GMT. I felt it was too much on the bracelet, but a black fitted rubber strap makes it incredibly sporty and a textured honey leather strap immediately transports you to the Amalfi coast. Agree these are underrated and a “bargain” in the current market.

It's a gorgeous watch! Personally I'd go for the blue one, purely because it reminds me of when I was in Miami at the beginning of the rise of Pablo Escobar. Down on the harbour there were what were termed 'Cigarette boats' named because originally that type was used for cig smuggling, but by the early 80's Cocaine was king and the cigarette boats were loaded up with white powder. Fast enough to evade anything that the USCG had easily, usually with 3 MASSIVE outboard motors. They weren't subtle about it a lot of the time! The owners were wandering about wearing hideously bright Hawaiian shirts, and the bluesey Rolex. From what I've heard, among the smugglers, there was a pecking order, and the 'lower rank' people in the organisation, weren't allowed to wear real Rolex, even though they could easily afford them....The real ones were reserved for the top of the food chain. They seemed pleasant people, happy to chat to a kid about the boats, even got shown round a few, but they weren't the sort of men you'd want to annoy. Murders in Miami at the time were as common as fish and chips on a Friday night in Skegness. IF / When I decide that I've got enough disposable income to buy a rolex, the 2 tone (Probably blue) is top of my shopping list.

On another note I was looking at a version of this watch before I picked up the Hulk - not a fan of two tone bracelets but I LOVE the colour scheme. the smudging of the bracelet really put me off in the end. Brushed steel all the way for me.
