@@johndombroski9067ABSOLUTELY! I mean, his first two years, the numbers, the eye test, Aldon was on a Reggie White, Bruce Smith level trajectory. Never really had any major injuries, had all the physical talent in the world, had an awesome coach and fantastic coordinator, and was supported by two incredible linebackers. Aldon Smith stays out of trouble and he's got a gold jacket for sure.

That's what is so freaking crazy about the Aldon Smith story. As awesome as Bosa is, as great as his pedigree is, how transformational he's been for the niners. And I can say wholeheartedly that I think Aldon Smith was more talented and more gifted. When you use a top 5 pick in the draft, THIS is what you want the film to look like. Bosa has all the moves, has incredible fundamentals, has pedigree with his brother and father. But at the same time, Aldon Smith had the things you can't teach: jackpot genetic lottery level physical gifts and the right technique. Bosa has been arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL the last few years, and yet I can confidently say he's not the best pass rusher I have seen on the niners, cause I saw those first two years of Aldon Smith. He was freaking Lawrence Taylor reborn
Only a handful of defenders in the NFL that have dominated a game by themselves in the last 15 years. Revis, JJ Watt, Aaron Donald, and Aldon Smith. The only thing the other three got on Aldon is they played longer & didn’t have off field issues.

The difference between them is that aldon is way better against the run. Micah is still pretty light. He has one of the worst run grades. Compared to the top guys. Hes still really good just not elite like aldon.
