He wasn't the biggest stat machine but ask any one of his contemporaries, offense or defense and they'll tell you his impact was worth more than a tally mark on a piece of paper. Reminded me of a more athletic but smaller Vince Wilfork.

Saints fan here. He had that, "Why the hell are you this strong for no damn reason?" strength. One play that I can remember vividly. Divisional round, My Saints vs. the 49ers (The game that Vernon Davis was snot bubble crying on the sideline after ripping my heart out of my chest on a TD catch at the end of the game.). 9:31- On one play, Justin ran THROUGH my offensive linemen, and while carrying the OLineman like a 1st grader, he snatched Drew Brees like a disobedient child and prevented a completion. Was he a farmer? A lumberjack? What the hell was his problem that he had to be that strong? He scared me the most from that great defense.

I’m kinda sad cuz I forgot just how good this man really was. This entire defense was just magical. Imagine having some of these guys in their final 5 years mixed with some of our 2019 players. Bosa, Justin Smith, Willis, Bowman, Fred Warner, Ahmad Brooks, DeForest Buckner. We’d have a killer front even today. I still vividly remember watching the Eagles game and totally thought they were gonna get into field goal range until I saw that ball pop out. He was somehow an underrated player doing our 2010-14 years. Lovely vid

While the playoffs are not supposed to influence the regular season awards *Defensive player of the year), but I still contest that if SF had made the Super Bowl instead of the Giants in 2011, then Justin Smith would have won DPotY instead of coming in second to Suggs. Not only did he have an amazing regular season, but he took over both of those games against the Saints and Giants.

Some here even more dominant than I've ever seen. If the HOF makes this guy wait another year, they're killing their already weak credibility. Haven't seen a more dominating tackle ever
