    I just noticed that someone gave this a thumbs down. Why oh why is the reason?
    This is my real name and you can find me in Calgary Alberta.
    I'd like to give you a thumb adjustment.

    Thank you Simeon for including your dad in your videos. I can see he's a bit uncomfortable being on camera but you can assure him that he is a welcome addition to your homestead story. Your english will improve as you learn new words to describe certain details and actions. You do not need to apologize for being yourself. It is because you are being so real and raw and so open that I am anxiously awaiting each new look at your life that you are so generously sharing with us.
    Thank you for being so brave to open up your life for the world to see. I hope you get a gazillion views so that all of your family can build and enjoy the homestead you all dream it can be.
    Best wishes from Canada.

    Great videos and information about the Logosol, it shows that you don't need full industrial quality machines to work commercially, very good top range craftsman quality is enough. Too many people promoting/owning the most expensive as the only option but then they never actually use it.
    What I like about your homesteading channel is that you show the actual reality not just talking about it, it's always easy to say do this or do that, buy this or buy that and this product is better than that product and never really use it. What you show is real life actually doing the tasks with the tools you have or can afford and the problems that can happen.
    This is truth, Thumbs Up

    Wow, that went through he machine faster than I expected. Nice to meet your Father. Need to include him in more videos, he is unique with a combination of teacher, homesteader and master wood worker/sawmill operator background that is cool. Simeon, you must have inherited some of your Dad's teaching skills because you can take complex subjects and explain and show us how to do things in clear easy-to-understand short videos. Very nice.

    Love it. I buy rough pine in South Africa. The rough pine is not always very straight. I buy it in 38mm and deepcut it into two pieces then plain it down to 11mm thick boards. Will this machine work for not very straight boards?

    Great video Simeon, I also work with my Dad in our family joinery so I know the pleasures and pressures of working with your family. I aspire to one day be able to run my own homestead even though the rules and laws are a lot different here in the UK which make it hard to do so. Keep up the great videos. I hope you all have a nice Christmas :)

    the problem is that it's not easy to get this product in the third world countries like Indonesia due to the restrictions of import of machinery. it coud cost twice from original price. the ridiculous law prevents us, small furniture maker, from purchasing this machine..

    please take this as a compliment. you and your family seem to enjoy a high standard of living. your tool shop is fabulous with many wonderful, and im sure, expensive machines. you seem to enjoy many of the latest gimmicks technologically, the children seem to wear new clothing. your vehicles are modern and well kept. you enjoy your life and you work very hard. it is comforting to see a man and his family enjoy the fruits of his labor. I compare your standard of living to farmers here in America and I cannot believe our farmers would be able to maintain your lifestyle here with the operation you run there. was your family wealthy before your involvement in that farm ? does your lifestyle depend only on the fruits of the operation we see in the videos you post ?
    I wish you only the best and continued success and prosperity in your endeavors.

      Yes. There is a bunch to think about but according to my dad it goes in 20-30min to completely set up the machine. He says that other machines take much longer.

    damn, thats a machine, ive been envolved in machine making and around machines my entire life, and that is highquality as f, the finish surprised me, i was expecting 4 plane side (which by itself was incredible) but you put in pallet wood and end up with art.

    Look how fast that thing is! So neat and precise. I guessed right, no less than 10. I wasn't going to ask. :D Scandinavians and Germans/Swiss are great tool makers. First thing i look for when buying tools. I'm getting pretty tired of the chinese stuff. I just bought an old German scythe with it's own peening hammer last week. Needs a fair bit of restoration. It looks very well used and loved. Sign of good quality.

    Cool machine, awesome results. A money-maker for sure! The last video I remember seeing a concave blade on the wall. Amazing what you could do with that. Could it do crown molding, or a railing and such? Seems like you probably could with that power. :)

    • @simeonandalex
      @simeonandalex  7 лет назад +1

      Yes. You can do a lot of different mouldings. You will have to go slower though.

    That was an interesting slow motion clip of cutter in action. That type of machine will quickly pay for itself with just a few flooring jobs. It is also a good compliment to a saw mill. Not every customer wants rough lumber. Many prefer planed lumber on all surfaces. or (dressed 4 sides as it is said in North America).

    • @simeonandalex
      @simeonandalex  7 лет назад +1

      Yes. That's why dad got the machine. It hasn't taken off as he had hoped but it has paid for itself many times.

    • @simeonandalex
      @simeonandalex  7 лет назад

      Not sure. But we usually put shorter pieces into our planer / jointer. I would think that 50cm should work but you usually have 5cm at the beginning that are not so nice.

    Can you explain more about what the three grooves on the bottom are supposed to do? You touched on it in the first video, but can you explain a bit more in depth?

    • @simeonandalex
      @simeonandalex  7 лет назад +3

      Wood is a living material and it often has some tension in it which will make it twisted or bent. The wider the board is the more the more the wood will work and twist. By putting the grooves in the bottom you reduce some of that tension.

    • @Grizz270
      @Grizz270 7 лет назад +1

      what swedish said ... but the main reason is after the board is nailed down there is less chance of the board cupping from side to side ... it is done on cedar and redwood decking boards here
