My family and I listened to these at night while my dad drove down the dark highways of Wyoming.
I absolutely love the commercials, included in some of these radio shows....they remind me of a wonderful time in my life. They're reassuring and comforting in a way. Like a time machine taking me back for a few moments.
Melanie Brandt,,,,,,, I soooo totally agree, I remember these shows growing up in the 70s . The tales were very good ,,,BUT the commercials are what really brings me back to a better, safer time I think. Wish I could go back again to those days
I agree: it makes for in interesting time capsule - a trip down memory lane - like listening to the original broadcast back in the 1970's.
I too am comforted by and appreciate the old commercials.
What great memories is correct! I was in high school !!!
It was a great time to grow up.
How many of you found your way here from the MysteryTheaterRadio channel? The gorgeous pictures that go with these episodes lead me to believe that the same person created both RUclips channels. Looking forward to listening to all 1,399 episodes! John V. Karavitis
Gesundheit!
all of them are not on this channel it will take some searching to find them all.
the visuals with this set are amazing!
Dear Mr. E.G. Marshall . A little WD 40 will fix that squeaky door hinge right up for you :)
I've probably heard the first 400+ and still am like a moth to a flame attracted back again and again and thankfully never been burnt yet!!!
i love the old radio commercials. they're so gutsy in their desire to fulfill my every utilitarian need.
I love when you talk like that !!
Uh, me too... I think.

I love the Louisiana Downs commercial. I was stationed at Barksdale AFB and went to that track many times. My first horse was an OTTB from Louisiana Downs.
at 17:05 , I love this commercial. Marriott Thanksgiving buffet with all the fix'ns, free parking, and a bus ride to the stadium for the football game....all for only $4.95.
Keep in mind that $5 in 1975 equals $25 today. Minimum wage was $2.10. Just to put things in perspective.
@@ritchiejohnsonjr1925 True enough, but hearing it still gave me a giggle.
EXCELLENT.
the real rasputan was a thousand times worse, this is a good story
Yeah... Rasputin didn't actually do much beyond giving the Czarina some questionable advice based on nonsense. Rasputin's reputation as some magic-powered mystic and how hard he was to kill and all (not really that hard), is 99% hype.
@@franktheexpertstrenchclub9025Read Nicholas and Alexandra.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!
It is known that Rasputin: The Mad Monk, was harder to kill than a cockroach on steroids!
Shot, stabbed, drownd, poisoned, and beat and strangled.
Only Rasputin would have given this a thumbs down!
34 now
I love the old radio shows, I just tune out the commercials.
Wow!! Louisiana Downs! I passed by the Downs on my way home from college every weekend 😍
Ya, I caught that Louisiana Downs commercial too!
Very cool.
I worked at Thistle Downs ( Cleveland Ohio) in the 1980s . They had a similar jingle .
The way that Rasputin was murdered is told fairly accurately, though for time constraints they had to make slight adjustments. Felix Yusupov described how he had killed him and although Alexandra wanted to have the conspirators shot, was dissuaded not to do so. Felix and his wife Irina escaped Russia and lived long lives. Rasputin was in no way a saint, nor was he a godly man for his behavior and teachings were contradictory to those of Jesus. The man was a deceitful, disgusting, controlling, perverted, and twisted thing. Why would anyone debate this?
The Romanov murders to me was a sickening part of history... (Not a part of this story).
👏
The Czar was called Little Father, not Rasputin. Rasputin means "rascal" or even "the debauched". Someone didn't do research. Otherwise a good story. If this intrests you see the movie "Nicholas and Alexandra". Rasputin is played very effectively by Tom Baker who later played Dr. Who.
👏Or read the book of the same name.
Great stuff! Good, clean and no swearing! What a change from 21st Century entertainment.
Wow he pronounced it correctly too, Anheuser Busch. I loved these in the 80s. I need to listen to all of them. Just wish they had been an even number, 1400 episodes. But maybe that was intentional?
ty for the upload Chilly, look at your msgs on your page
Felix sure sounded a lot like George Carlin
I thought the same thing!
This is the voice of the old Smuckers Jam commercials and others, I think. The man had a great voice. His name escapes me but I'm sure someone will comment it here 😃
thank you
love it, thank you.
Radio with closed capttions, AHAHAHAH... 2019....Eat your heart out!!
4:52 "of their only child" - what happened to the grand duchesses (eg Anastasia)? - another error is that the royal family weren't killed for a year and a half after rasputin's death - this script seemed to try to recreate the historical events - the leader of the successful assassins was Prince Felix Yusupov - aka Count Sumarokov-Elston - and despite rasputin's ties with the emperess - none were executed - Felix lived to 1967
there are some historical inaccuracies in this broadcast. But it is not a history lesson, just a mystery to be enjoyed.
some people appreciate historical accuracy too - in addition to the fictionized version - - for me - the fiction becomes the jumping off point to history - I've learned a lot of history in this way
@@johneyon5257 Cool.
The Ninja Academia remember That Sensei is deaf, blind and mute When the Kobra Kai Sensei says something that means exactly that and it does not mean anything else
I love this stuff.
Being a bit of a history buff there were a couple facts the narrator got wrong about the Czars court...Rasputin was never banished from the court albeit many of the Zcars ministers and extended family desired it so....also the narrator said that Rasputin was able yo heal their only child ...I think he meant to say only son..as they had 4 girls before Alex..but Muchadoabout nothing as CBS radio mystery is and was an awesome program..one I wish they would reenact possibly with aging stars of the 70s
👏 I just read recently Nicholas and Alexandra
But, but....where is Hellboy? ; )
What did he call him! lol Czarvonovich? Don't call me names!
Wow 1915 that's old
