The nymphette secretary has the voice of Bea Arthur :). Bea Arthur was very underrated as a comedianne....

The comment section is worried about the secretary’s voice sounding like an old lady. But I’m focused on the message behind what I’m hearing. Gerald’s mirror image represents the old rigid Gerald fighting to exist. What the secretary said about love hit me and made logical sense. Love the episode, I’ll be replaying it several times

The lead in with E G Marshall had a different dialog than at the end, but maybe it was to fit the dual personality war the man had with himself. The old voice of sexy secretary and her citing Greek gods might hint at her being extremely old and more than a Secretary here in Earth? Enjoyed years ago and on 5/25/22.

Chill to taste! Thanks for the upload Chilly, just binge listing listening on this cold Saturday 14th Nov 2020. Oakland CA during a pandemic

Yeah, I found these stories very entertaining, too, especially while quarantined here at my home Enumclaw, WA, 2/20/21. I have the virus but absolutely no symptoms and at 76 yo that's good! I can leave in four days but these stories will be an almost daily thing from now on!

The alleged age of the actress playing the Secretary did not detract from my enjoyment of the drama.😊

Although this is one of my favorite tales, I feel a much younger woman should've played the Secretary. She sounds very old, LOL!

They often had the same two people play multiple characters on this show. I think it was a cost-saving measure.

I think the voice is just right. Perhaps you should produce your own program of young secretary voices full to your hearts content.

I agree that the secretary should've been played by someone with a younger voice-- good story

I love Alexander Scourby. He’s such a good actor. He stars in the CBSRMT 5 part version of Les Miserables. It’s their best novel adaptation, I think

You're right on the money. He also Narrated The King James Bible on tape in the 80s, and just saw him in an old series of commercials for Xerox in 1980. I watched it on RUclips in the tv movie The Boy Who Drank Too Much with Scott Baio. Alexander does the voiceovers and also appears in them.

Marian Haley, playing the secretary was indeed quite hot in her day, and may still be. She can be seen in the movie Lovers and Other Strangers which was released 5 years earlier. It is detailed in my book, The CBS Radio Mystery Theater an Educational Degree, published in 2006.

Death can come in the name of your conscience, your poor judgement, your sinful nature, in the guise of an alluring woman, greed, vanity, vengeance, or a thousand other things. It's an apt title.

I gave this one a thumbs down, not because the story wasn’t good, I do not know if it was good or bad. I rely mostly on the transcription, however, there are numerous gaps in the transcript. I was not able to follow the story enough to know what it was about.

The "young" women always sound 55+😂 they did it with the men sometimes too. 😭🤦🏼‍♀️ its very annoying. I mean dont tell me there were no 20-30 something actresses that couldn't have played the parts of a 20-30 something character 😂
