I consider Cruyff the greatest. When u consider what he has done. He's not only one of the greatest footballer, but arguably the greatest tactician, and work's for the betterment of football. He's the complete package. He's the GOD
He changed the way the people look at football.Like Van Gogh changed the way people looked at paining back then. A true artist. Before his arrival, football was a different sport.
Whenever I listen to Johan, I am always convinced that he is on a totally different level than others. And always I am amazed how he can explain things in the simplest of language. Sometimes people laugh at his simplicity of words, but I think he is one of the greatest communicators ever.
Cruyff is completely correct about ?what is defending? The point being that if you have a starting 11 with hard working, great technical players...then you can accomplish everything... Understanding, awareness, and hard work. Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola have won how many european cups playing this way?
Thats not what he meant... he meant a player can be a poor tackler but if he is tactically disciplined enough to close down the space together with his teammates then that is the most important thing when it comes to 'defending'.
Ik begin nu pas the begrijpen hoe belangrijk Cruyff is geweest voor de voetbalwereld. Veel dingen die we nu voor lief nemen waren verre van vanzelfsprekend voor zijn intrede.
Johan’s perspective and philosophy in football was, and still is to this date, at levels beyond any others in professional football! An amazing player and a transformative coach!!! I wish he was still with us!!!
Something happend to him and his family during the world cup's when he was a player for national team he and his family got kind of kidnapped in their house and they forced him to lose with the dutch team, after that horrible event he swore he did not wanted to deal with the nationals ever again as to not playing for the nationals and not coaching for the nationals either. That is the main reason he never coached the netherlands
Guardiola stelde Laporte op als LA tegen Liverpool en daardoor domineerde City de wedstrijd. Ik snap Cruyff, maar voetbal evolueert dus deze uitspraak is verouderd
Cruyff was a great player but as a manager is system 343 is not the best those days i can agree whid some ideias like possesion defending but you can do that in evry system you like it only depends wat the oponent you are facing the true is Cruyff and others never coach a small team i i dout he woud aply 343 against biger teams lol
you need to watch other video's of him. In possession, he plays 3-4-3. Without the ball, he plays 4-3-3. He basically prefers to look at the ABILITY of his players on the ball, then to look at how they are strong and can tackle, because they do not add to your play.
His Barcelona's team played 3-4-3 diamond. There are not many coaches who convinced to play that system nowadays. Only a few like Bielsa which we could describe it as 3-3-3-1.
Jannik Toftegård Trolle so is Mourinho and others, then why do geniuses like you comment against him then. Infact as a coach Jose has had more success than him. Also, that was the best performance Dutch had since he was in the team. Not because he does not like it, it means that the Dutch were bad. Also I never insulted him. I love him. But the truth is you can't always say you are the one who is right. I hope I have clarified myself
He doesn't say his way is the best, he tells about his football ideology and his tactics and he gets asked what he would do with his ideology, and to be fair his tactics are probably the best for results AND enjoyable to watch unlike parking the bus like Mourinho or Conte
This is part of his greatness in my opinion. He has a clear idea of how he wants football to be played and doesn't allow this to be muddled. He may be wrong, as you think, but he believes he is right.

I agree. He was footballs mind and tactician.Miss him alot.We will never have the likes of Cruyff ever again.
@@trevorshear7737 wait for me, I work my a** off.
IJP you can surely make a great manager but I doubt You’ll be Cruijjf
Bro, CRUYFF is CRUYFF. Football should change its name to cruyffball.
"...make some tutti frutti."
That's Johan Cruyff - when he speaks, we listen.
he is the best player and coach of all time
Whenever I listen to Johan, I am always convinced that he is on a totally different level than others.
And always I am amazed how he can explain things in the simplest of language. Sometimes people laugh at his simplicity of words, but I think he is one of the greatest communicators ever.
brilliant as usual, rest in peace
god of coaching !
Coming from a legend like him we can only expect good words, he has an amazing vision of football
Cruyff is completely correct about ?what is defending?
The point being that if you have a starting 11 with hard working, great technical players...then you can accomplish everything...
Understanding, awareness, and hard work.
Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola have won how many european cups playing this way?
Because Guardiola learned everything he knows from Cruijff and Ancelotti learned a lot from Sacchi.
Pique is modern example of that defender. When left one on one with great dribbler, he is literally useless.
Guardiola is not the one about spaces, Jose is
Thats not what he meant... he meant a player can be a poor tackler but if he is tactically disciplined enough to close down the space together with his teammates then that is the most important thing when it comes to 'defending'.

Here After ajax ucl wonderful perfomance
A lot of this is so much common sense and yet so many managers who have spent their whole lives in the game still don't get the basics.
Truly brilliant
I think noticed this from beckenbauer...who was at the heart of the defense but still involved in the build up..
Legend, dearly missed by many
Johan’s perspective and philosophy in football was, and still is to this date, at levels beyond any others in professional football! An amazing player and a transformative coach!!! I wish he was still with us!!!
Every disadvantage has an advantage: make a tutti frutti
THE TRUE GOAT.
Good stuff
Genio
He was and is and will always be the best. He is God and human in one.

Isn't it about time he became national coach. It's his destiny. Come on the world is waiting!
Is dat echt gebeurd?
@@indodeze5478 there is no evidence of this on the internet
absm2 yes there is
Football is a simple game why is this great mind not coaching genius
he coached and built the first barca dream team .. no longer coaching because of health issues
ok i didnt know that but none the less a genius
jon smith lol

The problem is Cruyff thinks that the way he wants is the best way to play football. That is absolutely wrong
