It gets a bit undermined since we quickly got spanked by the mets in the NLCS right after this, but this was a great series, and beating the freakin Cardinals, at home, in a playoff series was ALMOST as sweet as winning the WS.
KSengage86 Cubs we're young and inexperienced, and that caught up with them. When the Mets beat them, they learned from it and that's what set the tone for us to win it all in 16.
Looking back on it all seems so surreal; I was a sophomore in college during this series and I almost enjoyed it more than 2016; just feeling so happy and grateful just to see the Cubs in October again not too mention beating the cardinals when most people thought they’d lose the wildcard game or not even make the play offs that year
Right before the last strikeout, he said, “I wish all of you could be right here at this moment…unbelievable atmosphere…and the 0-2 pitch…SWING AND A MISS! CUBS WIN!”
Great moment when the Cubs upset the best team in the NL, the Cardinals in the 2015 NLDS! I remember when Schwarber hit a long home run and the ball landed on top of the Budweiser jumbotron, that's such a beaty of Cubs postseason baseball!
That was a classic series to be remember forever for every Baseball enthusiast.
Shindler39 how? Just a solid 4 game set
@@benwarford8915 mad
@@jacksonpassmore4740 duh
John lackey can’t beat them join them and won a third ring 👏🏼
He didn't go there for no hair cut
The Cubs may have not gone to the World Series but in some ways, beating the Cardinals in the NLDS is an even bigger accomplishment
TheBreadman904 Once I saw that they beat the Cardinals I knew they were going to beat the Giants the following year.
No..no it isn't.
Quit
You
Fast forward 2019 Cards sweep Cubs 4 games in Chicago and Win the division.

@@benwarford8915 i agree and thank you for saying we deserve it
I love watching those 3 Cardinals fans at about 4:32, in pure amazement that their team just lost to the better team! It’s just so great! #GoCubsGo!
I was at the game when Schwarber FLAT OUT PASTED THAT BALL ON TO THE VIDEO BOARD Iin Right Field and I have to say that Wrigley just lost it then!
Didn't it go OVER the video board?
No, it was discovered that it landed on top of it. The Cubs then encased the ball in a glass case on top of the video board.
1:51 when lackey realized he was on the wrong team
Ethan Baca just like heyward did
if you can't beat em. join them.

This was the year before John Lackey signed with the Chicago Cubs.
I was at that game. Go cubs
I swear that is the most excited I've ever heard Pat Hughes
This was Pat Hughes' best call ever. Even more than the World Series.
Right before the last strikeout, he said, “I wish all of you could be right here at this moment…unbelievable atmosphere…and the 0-2 pitch…SWING AND A MISS! CUBS WIN!”
One of the best days of my life...
that schwarber home run was so fucking great
Honestly pat Hughes has got to be the best call in the entire mlb. “Get our the tape measure, LONG GONE!”

This was the second best moment of my life.
I don't care what anyone says, the best rivalry is still Cardinals vs. Cubs!!!
1st St. louis Cardinals (100-62)
5th Chicago Cubs (97-65)
se lo merecen!!
Off of Future Cub John Lackey. This was The End of the St. Louis Cardinals as we knew it!
It was the cubs first playoff clinch at home? I never knew that
And now you know
To this day the call of Pat Hughes's LIFE
