When i saw the big 4 together, it was still pretty hardcore mosh pits. Last time I saw them was in 2016 and the crowds are older and the pits are not as crazy, and people are more polite than they use to be.

I literally couldn't get out and was out of breath and severely dehydrated, finally they finished a song and I was able to push out with my last bit of energy, it felt like it was 200 degrees in there, barely fucking made it, fond memories. I saw Slayer at the Clash of the Titans in 1991 in Fayettevile, NC. I didn't ask to be in the mosh pit, the area I was in just became the mosh pit. Anyone that got knocked down was helped back to their feet. It was the best concert I've ever been to and at almost 50 years old I'd love to experience that joy and camaraderie again.

It was so tight when the crowd jumped you went with them even if you weren't trying to jump. I damn near passed out but it was a great show. I don't get in the pit as often as I used to but when I do, I'm all in.

I did not see one fight the whole day, people were very kind to each other, there was lots of children with ear protection running around some in strollers. It was a good day. But I have been to many slayer shows since the 80s when they played in small clubs in SF Bay Area and yeah that was intense.

Same thing happened to me at Clash of the Titans at Pine Knob. Alice in Chains played their set, nobody knew who they were then, and then Slayer started playing their intro music... The whole hillside of people rushed down the hill and by the time Slayer played their first riff the concourse had become the most violent mosh pit I had ever seen, Detroit style. Easily 200 people, chicks getting caught up in it and coming out bloody, me and my friends on the edge tripping on good blotter and punching anyone that got close. Metal.
